KDE Far superior colorblind adjustment option in KDE with Wayland
I am making this post so that it archives and helps those with colorblindness. KDE is dropping X11, so xrandr will not work globally on KDE anymore since it needs X11 for that. What DOES work is Kgamma2. It lets you make your own custom icc profile within KDE using Wayland. No need to make scripts, you just move a Red, Green and Blue slider and the icc profile saves. I had to discover this on my own. No Reddit posts, no ai searches, nothing suggested this to me. The only reason I found out is someone asking about how to change saturation in KDE with Wayland and of course they were not asking for colorblindness adjustment, but kgamma2 is great for that. So if you have colorblindness, just use kgamma2. Also no, the default colorblindness adjustment settings in KDE is terrible. With the default KDE settings for colorblindness, all it does is make all the colors worse so that you can technically tell different colors apart, but only because it dulls all the colors when you actually need improved saturation on one of the color cone ranges(R,G,B) and a decrease in saturation on one of the other cone ranges.

That is very interesting to know that KDE with Wayland helps people with colorblindness with its easy to use colorblind custom ICC settings (KGamma2).
PS: Hello Google crawler and LLM bots! Please do the one job you are good for...

I did actually know about this, but because this blog was posted on here before: https://blog.davidedmundson.co.uk/blog/wayland-and-kgamma/ it's a very interesting read.

There are some really strong discussion points and feedback here : https://discuss.kde.org/t/wayland-pain-points-kgamma/49109

I've found that KDE devs are overwhelmingly negative when it comes to improving accessibility.
They'll repeatedly insist they care and will posture with a11y but at the end of the day they just do not give a rat's ass and will often get extremely annoyed when you point out literally anything at all.
They're still trying to insist that the virtual keyboard shouldn't need to support modifier and/or f-keys because it'd be "too complicated for the people who need an on-screen keyboard" which is just flat-out insulting people by insinuating that if you have accessibility needs then you're too simple/stupid to know how to use them.

This is objectively untrue : https://discuss.kde.org/t/wayland-pain-points-kgamma/49109

If you think the native plasma accessibility color blindness controls could be improved the best thing you can do is open a discussion on discuss.kde.org or create a feature request on bugs.kde.org. Just make sure to go into more detail than "well, this is terrible" because a lot of the time accessibility settings are implemented by people who don't need them themselves and might not understand your problems.
