Marcella Sembrich/Victor Orchestra, 88096, Discogs link. 1909-1912? timeframe. I have not yet seen a good date for the “VICTROLA record” version. Victor and Monarch aplenty.

So happy and cheery! That’s one of the things I love about classical music- it always endures because it’s eternal and handed down to appreciate (or learned to appreciate), and whether you hear it on this (This is a VV-XVIII) or on a satellite radio, it will stay the same!

P.S. $3?!? They said it was in English, and the following verses are in German! I want my $3 back! /s (I’ll gladly take the record any day!)

Have a wonderful day.

Ugh. I don’t know why 1909 came to mind… the Victrola came about in 1907! Ugh. Tho I do wonder: I haven’t seen a VICTROLA label on those sites… just the Victor/Monarch, et al

My search pattern is: when did xxxx records release number xxxx , title. It's amazing the information to be found, so far my oldest disk is 1917, my Victrola is 1914.even more amazing is that it still works

“Classical” in the sense that this is Celtic/Folk music, which in essence doesn’t change too much, either- if it’s like a folk standard, for example.
