This is sooooooo different from their later stuff.

Preach, Brother Malcom

The original Dr. Dre (from Yo! MTV Raps)

was produced by Kurtis Blow. The Fearless Four released “Problems Of The World (Today)” on January 1, 1983.

Anyone know any earlier albums that were conscious/political? This is the earliest I know of. Harlem World Crew also had Rappers Convention which talked about jimmy carter and Iran but I think this is first.

We watch channel zero….hehe

I’m seeking out the documentary about Kenny if anyone has anything on it.

I was loving late 80s hip hop as a teenager. It was funky, smooth, funny, rebellious, and honest. We had mainstream shows like Rap City and Yo! MTV Raps but where I truly was exposed to the music was the Saturday night radio show on my local community radio station in Tampa, Florida. Give it a listen. You can find 35 other shows there as well.
