Satire Apparently 28 mph is still “just a bike” when there’s money to be made

For maybe a minute or two. Not the length of a whole battery

Okay yeah, but what changes whether it's 2 minutes or 12 minutes?

The fact that every time you ride you can hit excessive speeds (for an unskilled 13 year old) vs earning it by pushing hard on a bike for anaerobic capacity limits. Just more chances for something going wrong. I see it on my bike trails daily. These kids are wreckless on these things. I’m all about them for actual transportation but it’s a danger to them and others on trails and neighborhoods

The longer you do it, the higher chances of something going wrong.

If you are a person who has trained and can ride a regular bicycle at 28 mph on flat ground, you are likely in the top 1% of cyclist in the world.

You have spent countless hours on a bicycle on various terrains building up to that speed over time. You have adjusted to bumps and rocks and other obstacles thousands of times. At this point, you don't even have to think about these things because your safety is automatic.

Young kids on motorized vehicles never build these skills especially at speed. I have watched both my kids learn to ride bikes and that first time down a moderate hill makes them white knuckle until they practice enough times. These bikes are like you are bombing down hills all the time that you have no training for.
