DISCUSSION Should Kaldur and Jackson just be the same character?

As in, Kaldur is an adaptation of Jackson. Maybe "Kaldur'ahm" is his Atlantean name.

Kaldur doesn't need to be identical to Jackson Hyde. Much of Young Justice cartoon is nothing like the comics. Wally West, Roy Harper, Dick Grayson, Zatanna, Bart Allen, Artemis Crock, and many other characters were heavily revamped.

This comic was action packed and we got her second most noticeable death of Aquaman’s old friend. His other friend died. I’m pretty sure on an issue with 10 and after that, Aquaman was actually trying to kill black manta so far is Aquaman series has been very good very engaging. The reason why I haven’t progressed that much because I was busy reading wonder woman if you’re trying to finish that off but now I’m back on track. It’s a very good read and a lot of action so far from she went and now I like this comic run. I’m probably gonna update every five issues if I can.

DISCUSSION New Aquaman fan

Post image

I’ve been reading the new 52 Aquaman I’m on issue seven so far and all I have to say is Aquaman the goat I really wanted to see him to read all the common heroes from DC that really don’t know about and is from the justice league so Aquaman was first of my list And all I have to say is I was missing out. This is actually a pretty good story. I really like Arthur and I prefer him with short hair than his long hair and beard kinda like in the movies I say after reading all these issues I like him over some characters that I really liked like I prefer over Captain America and stuff like that. He’s just a real cool superhero. He kind of feels like more of a mage in this story in some type of ways I like how they talk about the alantians marine magic. my favorite. Panel so far is an issue one where he was at the fish and chips restaurant and ordering fish

Ok bear with me, is aquaman vol 3 #1-5 intended as a flashback to his earlier days, or does it take place at the same time it was published in 89.

What are some villains that challenge Aquaman whether it physically, psychologically, morally, or philosophically?
How does the relationship between the two reveal about Aquaman?

How does it test his ideals?

FAN CREATION Emperor Aquaman: Flashpoint (fan edit w/ download link)

A few years ago, I made a "fan edited" version of Brightest Day that focused specifically on Aquaman. Now, I thought it would be fun to do the same thing for Flashpoint, for Aquaman fans that don't want to read the entire event.

  • Combines Flashpoint: Emperor Aquaman #1-3 and Flashpoint: Wonder Woman and the Furies #1-3.
  • Contains every single Emperor Aquaman scene, from the entire event.
    • Including scenes from Flashpoint #2, #4, and #5, as well as The World of Flashpoint #1, Flashpoint: Deathstroke and the Curse of the Ravager #1, Flashpoint Beyond #1, and Aquaman (2011) #1.
  • Presented in chronological order.
  • Presented as Issues #0-6, so seven issues total.
  • This will not give you the full Flashpoint story, and barely touches on Barry's storyline.

DISCUSSION Why do we all live aquaman?

I am curious on this so thought to ask you all.

What makes you live aquaman?

For me he is the only hero i really stick to. I love batman and the flash as much as the next guy but i have never found a dc comic character i love as much as aquaman.

To me that mixture of hero and King. Forced to contstantly walk a tight between two worlds or at least two roles. The fact he isn't just a water hero but the fact the writers actually engage with his title as king really creates a dynamic i find other heroes can't replicate. That feeling of being other but still bound to it all.

It's one of the reasons i think aquaman inherently needs his title.

Also i very the feeling he is a lot more of a Grecian hero compared to the rest which is a nice bonus.

I have many thoughts on what i would love to see but what about you all?

DISCUSSION How Aquaman could work in a hero shooter (and how WB/DC could make him feel completely different from Marvel Rivals’ Namor)

Post image
24 Upvotes

Hey guys! With Marvel Rivals getting a lot of attention, it got me thinking about how a potential DC equivalent would handle our favorite King of Atlantis.

Namor in Rivals leans heavily into a summoner/backline DPS archetype (squids, water projections, throwing tridents from range). But if DC ever makes a game in this genre, Arthur Curry shouldn't just be a "blue reskin" of Namor. He has the potential to be a frontline beast.

Here’s a concept for how Aquaman could play as a High-Impact Dive/Disruptor Tank that stays true to his comic identity while standing out from Namor:

Playstyle Concept: The Frontline Disruptor (Tank)

Rather than sitting in the backline summoning sea creatures, Arthur should be in the thick of the fight, using the weight of the ocean, his Atlantean physiology, and the Trident of Neptune to break enemy formations and control the battlefield.

Role: Dive Tank / Area Control

Health: High Base HP + Water Shield mechanic

Identity: Heavy melee presence, movement control, and high durability.

Ability Breakdown

Passive - Ocean's Grace:

Leaving water-affected areas grants Arthur and nearby allies a short burst of bonus movement speed. Additionally, he gains temporary shielding when taking critical damage near water hazards or his own abilities.

Primary Attack - Trident Strikes:

Heavy, sweeping melee strikes with the Trident of Neptune. The final strike in his 3-hit combo creates a localized water burst that knocks enemies back slightly.

Ability 1 - Tide Rush (Initiation):

Aquaman surges forward on a wave of water, plowing through the enemy front line, dealing damage, and leaving a wet trail on the ground that slows enemies walking over it.

Ability 2 - Atlantean Harpoon (Pull/Engage):

Throws the Trident in a straight line. If it hits an enemy, reactivating the skill pulls the target toward Arthur (or pulls Arthur toward them if targeting a heavy Tank), isolating key high-value targets.

Ability 3 - High Tide Barrier (Defensive Utility):

Summons a vertical wall of swirling water that blocks incoming projectiles and heavily slows any enemy trying to pass through it.

Ultimate - Call of the Maelstrom:

Arthur slams his Trident into the ground, summoning a massive whirlpool that pulls all surrounding enemies toward its center. After 2 seconds, a deep-sea leviathan breaches from underneath, launching everyone into the air and dealing heavy area-of-effect damage.

What do you guys think? Would you prefer Arthur as a frontline disruptor Tank, or do you think he’d work better in a different role?
