Hello. This would be considered fanart (Environment depicting minecraft's blocks and items on the ground).

This has been posted outside of fanart fridays, and as such we would normally have to remove it. However, I have given an exception for this one. Please make sure to keep our rules in mind for the future! We won't make an exception for this again next time for you and will remove it no matter how well received it gets. (Outside of fridays, we recommended checking out other related subs, such as "r/fanart" or even "r/Minecraft" for the reference it yields)

Nonetheless, great artwork, and we hope to see you again next time!

The zombies aren't real. The zombie aren't real. The zombies aren't real.

I have no toes, and I must wiggle

u/ReptileDysfunction69 Aug 08 '26

Eugh, I really wish I hadn't looked at the "feet"

As someone who routinely jams their toes into the mattress for comfort I’ll take this over weird looking toes thank you

I feel like this is a reference to the 2 week minecraft phase, hence the name "The Fifteenth Day"

41

u/KaJaHa Aug 08 '26

What's the 2 week Minecraft phase?

169

u/TheFrog4u Aug 08 '26

2 Week Minecraft Phase is a concept used in a series of memes about going through a two-week phase in which you play Minecraft, after which you take an indefinite break from the game until the next two-week Minecraft phase.

Oh goodness..... I have my kids every other week so they never complete the cycle. Is this why they are like drug addicts?

16

u/Lei713 Aug 09 '26

It is

8

u/UnsureSwitch Aug 08 '26

That makes sense!

u/ooops529 Aug 08 '26

This is like an optical illusion or something right? Love the contrast. Every time I feel like I get a sense for the person, really focus on them, their depth and weight, I’m pulled back out towards the things that really belong in this space. Love it

u/DerWaschbar Aug 08 '26

well he's like a flat texture on the bed

32

u/frogOnABoletus Aug 08 '26

A flat 3d image on a flat surface in 3d. Thats gotta be tricky!

u/thegenzsaint Aug 08 '26

Bro doesn’t even have cobble on the 15th day noob (this is a masterpiece fr)

26

u/babbittybabbitt Aug 08 '26

This is just brilliant, I love it!

10

u/Power0fTheTribe Aug 08 '26

Ok, I don’t get it I feel dumb :(

Crawling out of a 2 week Minecraft bender

17

u/ebagdrofk Aug 08 '26

There’s just a lot going on.

The glass vials and flint and steel are probably drugs (strewn glass vials/pieces and a lighting device)

The character is kind of part of the texture of the bed, which is off putting. But if you look closer his head is blocky looking and his feet have no toes, so it almost looks like a freaky humanoid Minecraft figure.

Maybe he smoked too much?

Also the title being the fifteenth day and he only has a crafting table, furnace, bed, and just a dirt house. Dude has definitely been smoking too much.

u/MouseItUp Aug 08 '26

Interesting. My thoughts went more toward, "I've been playing this game for 15 days straight. I feel like trash, but can't stop. I've even made myself a place for my fake self to notsleep."

Minecraft to me is such a lonely game, especially when I first started playing it (before villagers were a thing) You spawn into an empty but endless world. Not another real soul around. You build a shelter to hide in. You dig and dig and time passes while you build monuments that oftentimes no one but you will see.

Idk this picture fills me with that same sense of isolation early minecraft did. Coupled with the broken glass and flint and steel on the floor, which i feel are allusions to drug use, the person seems to be struggling with the isolation. The title makes me think of journals written by someone stranded.

Though elsewhere in this thread I saw OP say the title is a reference to a meme, which makes me think it may be moreso an impression of how it feels to be in a Minecraft binge and becoming one with the game as you obsess over it lol

Whereas im obsessed with the choice to make the person a flat texture on the bed. Its dope.

As someone who doesn’t know art much, I don’t think I have a good eye for art, so with that said, I think this is one of the best peices I’ve ever seen. There’s so much to love comically but beyond that it’s such an amazing drawing with multiple meanings depending on the person. I don’t know what it would be called but I like that the satire nature of the picture is so small compared the actual emotional feeling of it. Amazing.

The new Christoff Zeterstrand

this is genuinely one of the most unique pieces i’ve ever seen, wow. i adore this on so many levels- as an artist/art appreciator, as an occasional minecraft player, as someone who’s gone through mental health shit, etc.
such an interesting balance of humour and darkness- without either necessarily overpowering or taking away from the other of that makes sense? the concept is silly and surreal, but also somber and grounded.
i’m glad mods made an exception for today bc while i understand this technically classifying as fanart, i feel like it goes far beyond that.

I love how it's in the style of the in-game paintings. I love how he is flat like a texture on the bed, and I'm amazed you were able to capture the perspective so subtly that I was able to tell that!

8

u/Imetelstat Aug 08 '26

Astounding knowledge of perspective. I'm in awe.

4

u/so_unfortunately_yt Aug 08 '26

My two week phase has now lasted 6 months. I get nervous that this could be me any day now. Bravo 👏

2

u/JamsArt Aug 08 '26

The perspective you've achieved to make the body look flat with the bed is incredible, great work. That flint and steel on the ground is a fire hazard though.

2

u/Underskysly Aug 09 '26

Wow this is so unique and interesting, the skill to draw a body to be flat and with 3d perspective is wild

2

u/Supershadow30 Aug 09 '26

Mfw couldn’t find enough prismarine for the mega house project, which is currently a cleared plot of land with nothing on it

2

u/tealulu04 Aug 09 '26

This is incredible. And makes me uncomfortable lol

1

u/UnsureSwitch Aug 08 '26

Nightmarish, in a good way

1

u/C_norB_ Aug 08 '26

Why is this the same guy on the uk cigarette packet deterrent pictures 😂

1

u/DangerMacAwesome Aug 08 '26

This is so fucking good

1

u/Professional-Scar628 Aug 08 '26

Love the humor and love the perspective play ❤️

1

u/Me2910 Aug 08 '26

This is so unique

1

u/DigitalDonut Aug 08 '26

this captured me as soon as I saw it... very intriguing lol good work OP!

1

u/liquidmasl Aug 08 '26

thats the impotence guy from cigarettes, someone told me recently thy have met this person in germany at a homeparty lol

1

u/wrecklord0 Aug 09 '26

I love how you managed to draw it properly "3d" shaded, yet flat in appearance.

1

u/spoopadoop Aug 09 '26

this is so cool!!

1

u/VisitWide9973 Aug 09 '26

This is the lad with erectile dysfunction on the warning labels on tobacco in Ireland. That sample, alongside the empty bottles and the "lighter" on the ground really tell a story.

1

u/rbxk Aug 09 '26

Great piece of art. It triggers an instant claustrophobia discomfort in me. Well done.

1

u/noisemerchant Aug 09 '26

I love this so much. Fantastic.

1

u/lemonlatteIDV Aug 10 '26
