Seeking 90s Austin concert footage - especially Split Rail (SXSW 1996)
Hi! Hoping this reaches the right folks...
I'm an archival coordinator working on a documentary about the Austin (and greater TX) music scene in the 90s. Hoping to connect with anyone who is in possession of footage of Austin's live music scene in the mid-to-late 90s.
Currently seeking photos or video of the former Split Rail club (now Elysium at 705 Red River) particularly in and around SXSW 1996. Any media depicting shows, backstage, the venue's interior, crowds, lines outside, or just people hanging around before / after performances would be awesome. Anything that captures the atmosphere, really
If you filmed shows back then, have old tapes sitting around or know anyone who might, I'd absolutely love to chat
Appreciate any and all leads!

Local horror punk bands?
I'm sort of on a horror punk kick lately. Are there any local bands in the genre that I should check out?

Local Musician Kemah Lindy - Dark Alt Artist
https://youtu.be/TQ90VN0jISY?is=5efKkjuE3MQZd--c
Hello🖤 I used to perform all over Austin before Covid, under a different stage name. I’m starting over as an independent artist, Kemah Lindy. My friend and I recorded my debut single in my bedroom then filmed it by ourselves on a $100 budget. Hoping to get back into live performances soon and would love to connect with anyone.

News about the Waco Brothers
I know there are some Waco Brothers fans here. I'm sad to report that Dean was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He faces a long road to recovery, and we all know how musicians struggle financially. Please chip in what you can.
I won't post the GFM link because that often gets posts blocked. But the title is "Donate to Support Dean and Jo Right Now." The link is all over social media.
Here's some info from the page:
In mid-September, Dean’s life was completely upended when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). What started as a sudden medical emergency quickly turned into an intensive, month-long battle in the hospital.
His journey began in the ICU, where he required emergency stabilization procedures—including leukapheresis and intensive organ support—before he could safely begin cancer treatment. Once stable, he was moved into a private room to start a grueling round of high-dose induction chemotherapy. Through every single hurdle, breathing crisis, and setback, Dean has fought with the incredible grit and spirit we all know and love him for.
While the medical team is working hard to prepare him for the transition to recovering at home, the road ahead involves extensive outpatient care, ongoing medical testing, nutritional support, and a home recovery environment set up to create accessibility and support his healing.
Dean’s wife, Jo, is balancing a full-time job, working split shifts to maintain their health insurance. The emotional and physical toll on their household is staggering, and the financial reality of high deductibles, mounting medical costs, and missed income is starting to surface.

What are the hip hop hotspots?
I'm a hip hop artist and I just moved to Austin a couple months ago. I haven't heard anything about hip hop shows or any local rappers that caught a buzz. Does hip hop have a scene here?

2004 Alejandro Escovedo Benefit Concert
22 years after its release, I’ve finally gotten Por Vida, and really like it. Question: there was a 2004 companion concert at Austin’s Paramount Theater, that I think included most of the artists on the album. Are there any video recordings of that Paramount show? Thanks!
