While music is subjective and this might be a scorching hot take here's my reasoning:
More interesting guitar and drum work. Don't get me wrong mettalica is iconic but the drums on the black album are nothing special thanks to lars... And the guitar work on the black album is not bad at all you can't compete with synyster gates solos and guitar work. Not even mentioning Matt with his amazing emotional and gritty vocals.
Better themes and atmosphere: while the black album is about battling inner demons httk has this medival society themes with witchcraft, rituals, apocalyptic aesthetics. Its just way more immersive imo.

(I'm not American, I had to have this translated, don't call ICE😭😭😭😭)
Usually when I say that I listen to a lot of Avenged Sevenfold (autistic hyperfixation)
The tendency is for people to give me dirty looks, especially goths and people who have been in metal longer
I always have this thought that when a lot of girls like something, it generally ends up being hated, especially Avenged Sevenfold because in terms of appearance it's a very visual band, so it's normal for people to have a crush
I've already seen some people dislike Avenged Sevenfold for political reasons (involving their past and the more recent controversy of M. Shadows sending messages to Israeli fans)
I'm a radical leftist, and to be quite honest, I don't think certain issues should be problematized to the point where disagreeing with a genocide is considered something "controversial"
Was it human of him? It was
They're pretty neutral, and it's clear,
But I think it's bizarre that people think that's automatically a nod to Zionism
Since I'm a Black Latina, the tendency is for people to give me even dirtier looks when I say I'm a fan of theirs
Since they have a history of using the Confederate flag, which yes, I find kind of annoying
Especially because most of the fans are white, but unfortunately I'm already used to dirty looks
(Suck my dick)
Musically speaking, it's common for me to hear people say they're too cinematic ("fake"), which I've never really noticed; generally, yes, in the 2000s when they were at their peak, the tendency was to have "characters" and caricature some mannerisms or personalities more to attract the public, which is common even today
As for their music nowadays, I see a lot of fans criticizing their current songs, which genuinely, I don't like that much; some are okay, others if I listen to them, I feel like throwing myself off a cliff
There's a statement from M. Shadows about the band's own fans attacking them, and I do notice that, yes
Since the band is already old and the members are all soon going to be old and creaky, it's normal to have comments like "they used to be better," I think that's always been present in the industry, there will always be comparison
But genuinely (this year, my best friend killed himself) I think comments like "they died along with The Rev" or "The Rev must be rolling in his grave" are terrible; honestly, I don't know if they get offended, but I think it's very heavy and it must be annoying
Especially because in interviews they always mentioned him in some way
Nobody wants to be reminded of someone very important who died
And honestly, even if The Rev were alive, the band would probably still keep suffering those comments
Going back to the music point, Avenged Sevenfold is a band that mixes a lot of musical styles and a lot of instruments, which I really applaud, and maybe that's weird to some people's ears, which I don't care about
I listen to kpop and brutal death metal, so I'm already used to it
Anyway, I wanted to comment on this, I don't know if you guys know why this band is so hated by metalheads
I've only been a fan of theirs for 2 years (the first time I heard them was in 2013/2014 when my dad played Call of Duty, but it was only once that I heard them)
I'd like you guys to also comment on your experiences and what you listened to in relation to the band
Have a good night

I was curious as to what the probability is of seeing Not Ready to Die live, it is my favorite song by them and has been for years. I know that they occasionally play it, but I wanted to know if I would likely see it

My prediction for tomorrow is basically the Sydney set again, with **Gunslinger the most likely song to get swapped out**, probably for **Dear God**. The counts in brackets are from the 7 shows since the Asia leg started (26 Sep onwards).
**Predicted setlist**
1. Nightmare (locked, always the opener)
2. Game Over (5/7)
3. Afterlife (locked)
4. Shepherd of Fire (locked)
5. Buried Alive (locked)
6. So Far Away (6/7)
7. The Stage (5/7)
8. Nobody (6/7)
9. Gunslinger (5/7)
10. Hail to the King (locked)
11. Bat Country (locked)
12. Unholy Confessions, with a drum solo (locked)
13. A Little Piece of Heaven (7/7 since Rio)
14. Cosmic (locked, always the closer)
**The rotating spots and their likely swaps**
- **Gunslinger is the most likely to rotate off.** It and Dear God have been trading the same mid-set slot, and Dear God was last played in Jakarta, a few shows back. Dear God (3/7) is the top substitute, and M.I.A. (2/7) is next.
- **Game Over could become Magic.** Song two is either one, and Magic (2/7) has shown up when they shake things up, like Jakarta and Bangkok night 2. It's about a 70/30 split in Game Over's favour.
- **The Stage could be dropped.** When they've cut it, they've played a shorter set with M.I.A. or Seize the Day instead.
- **Seize the Day (1/7)** is the wildcard. It's been played only once since the Asia leg started, on Bangkok's second night, when they changed the most songs.
This is all pattern-matching from fan-logged setlists, so treat it as an educated guess. Expect them on around 8:45–9:00 PM and finishing about 10:30 PM Brisbane time.

Currently, I'm between two.
"When did the walking apes decide that nuclear war was the only solution for them keeping the score?" - The Stage.
"They say that all beauty must die, I say it just moves on." - Save Me.
But I wanna see which are your favourite verses, all songs are valid. Just please, if yours comes from a LIBAD/Magic/STATICA, please don't tell me which song it is, just say the album/EP, I still couldn't hear neither of them and want as little spoilers as possible.

Caught the recent show in Singapore and Syn looked absolute peak fitness. Just curious if anyone knows his current gym routine, diet, or how he keeps up with training while on tour?

I was listening to these albums in this exact order, nightmare, the stage, LIBAD and finally STATICA, and am I crazy or do these 4 albums feel like they’re an evolution of each other? Before I continue, I feel HTTK was more of a comercial “fine HERE” release rather than a project that the band held dear for years until perfected.
I genuinely think that even in nightmare you could feel those small “experimental” elements popping in in some tracks, then in The Stage they embraced more prog elements that felt like a natural evolution off Nightmare, the insane guitar work balanced out with some more experimental stuff mixed in better than ever before, I’d even say The Stage was the perfect blend between experimental and classic A7X metal compositions, but that’s besides the point, then came LIBAD which imo i think many people haven’t even considered given it a good through and through listen, because if they did they’d probably find that it’s a great evolution off The Stage, balancing out the experimental aspects while dialing down the more heavy stuff from past albums, making this a new sound for the band to explore and expand upon, then finally the dreaded STATICA; I just listened to the whole thing (mixing in MAGIC because it’s basically part of Statica atp) and I did not have a bad time, listening to LIBAD before it really gives you more of an open mind listening to it and I genuinely don’t know why, granted it’s not by any means my favorite work from A7X but it’s not a dumpster fire as some people describe it. I really recommend listening to these four albums in a row because the experience is very satisfying, it’s listening to the evolution of a band essentially.
But then again I might be high and making stuff up to make STATICA not feel as bad, any thoughts on this?

My son was very fussy about getting to sleep when he was young. Usually I had to lay next to his crib and hold his hand to get him to take a nap. When he was about a year old I started humming AX7 songs to him while I was trying to get him to sleep. One night I started humming the intro to Fiction and his eyes suddenly lit up and he quieted right away. I sang the whole thing to him and he finally calmed and went to sleep. Fiction quickly became his lullaby. I finally sat down and examined the lyrics and realized what the song was actually about.
A couple years later he's requesting that I play his Lullaby for him and I put on Fiction. He sways next to me and sings along the bit he can and when it gets to the part "found a place for me to rest my head" he lays his head on me.
Then when it plays "promise me you'll never feel the pain" my son looks up at me and says "Daddy, I want to feel the pain!". That caught me off guard and I explained the best I could to a 3 year old that he doesn't want this pain.
Cut to a few years ago, his little sister is born and the same thing happens with her. She asks for his lullaby and I play Fiction for her and she dances and sings along (she's 3 now and her brother is 13) and then she asks for her lullaby and I put on Mattel and she sings along and headbangs. She's also a big Slipknot fan and a few days ago my wife tells our daughter *time to go to school" and our daughter says "it's not time to go, it's time to sing and die!!!" and starts running around the room like she is in a mosh pit.
