Why? There's not really "big fertilizer." The farming industry is enormous and this would only cut down their costs and boost their profits.

What makes you think they'd be against this and want to use fertilizer that's more expensive?

There was also no big oil once.... Agritech companies have become big corporate systems and you don't want things to change. Farmers are more and more owned by those farms and their compulsory ecosystems. That's why it's so hard for farmers to change. So these inventions will be 'kaltgestellt' by said companies or they will enjoy the reduction in costs. You as consumer will never pay less

2

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

I never said anything about us paying less. You're saying that she would be targeted or silenced because of cheaper method for fertilizer. I'm asking why you think the farming industry would silence her so they can keep spending more money instead of accepting it and getting more money.

1

u/CellPuzzleheaded99 Sep 01 '26

O, the industry will use it, buy the patent or make her sell the rights. Whatever, but you won't notice it. Fact that there is already a very low price mentioned means that industry will do anything to get their hands on that extra margin. And thus the end for our brave lady and her great work. History is full of other examples and corporate greed is peaking.

3

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

I don't understand, at no point did I say there would be savings for the consumer. Where are people getting that from? I am just saying she's not gonna get silenced over this.

3

u/AggressiveCuriosity Sep 01 '26

He's not listening to you. That's why none of his responses actually touched on anything you said.

He's trying to sound smart and feels special and knowledgeable by talking about these conspiracies. He learned that talking about this stuff makes him feel important. So he read your comment, saw an opportunity to do that, and did it.

Cynical conspiracism is just a convenient way for ignorant people to feel knowledgeable without knowing anything. You don't have to learn about REAL monopolistic behavior, you just make it up and people treat you like you know things.

These people have never in their lives given any of this a skeptical analysis.

The supplier of the fertilizer to said farms would be the bad guy targeting her here

3

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

And you actually think she's gonna be murdered?

0

u/DickyReadIt Sep 01 '26

I ain't saying shit, just telling you who would be after her. Corporate espionage is a thing, a rather big thing that can involve people dying for anothers gain

3

u/GogurtFiend Sep 01 '26

The reason you aren't saying shit is because you know it's conspiratorial nonsense and aren't willing to be wrong about it.

u/InfusionOfYellow Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

The nation generally and reddit specifically are chin-deep in conspiratorial ideation.

7

u/Solnse Sep 01 '26

Canadian fertilizer mafia.

2

u/keetojm Sep 01 '26

Cuts into their profits.

2

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

How would using cheaper fertilizer cut into their profits?

If I use a fertilizer that's $50 it would cost $50. If I use a fertilizer that's $2 it would cost $2.

That is $48 that is saved.

$48 savings is more savings than $0.

6

u/cationtothewind Sep 01 '26

Now imagine you sell the other fertilizer.

0

u/AggressiveCuriosity Sep 01 '26

OK, I'm imagining it. Now why don't you imagine it? Tell us how you'd stop this from coming out.

There's a reason cospiracy theorists never actually give any concrete details about what they think.

3

u/keetojm Sep 01 '26

Imagine if you are Monsanto, pretty much have a stranglehold on crops and growing food.

This. Chick reinvents the wheel, who stands to lose a lot of money, unless they buy the patent. Then the make even more money.

You think Monsanto will sit by when someone else may upend a hood part of their business?

3

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

If they have a monopoly on all this then why would they kill her instead of just not adopting it? They already have a stronghold on growing food.

1

u/keetojm Sep 01 '26

They’ll adopt it, and never let the public have use of it

2

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

Sure. I agree with that. My whole point was there would be no point in them murdering/silencing/making her vanish. People seem to disagree.

2

u/GogurtFiend Sep 01 '26

Why? Why would they do that? Not using this technology won't make them money.

1

u/GogurtFiend Sep 01 '26

Monsanto no longer exists.

2

u/sleeper_shark Sep 01 '26

Monsanto, Yara, Nutrien, Mosaic, ADM, Cargill : "allow us to introduce ourselves"

4

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

So they'll kill her?

1

u/sleeper_shark Sep 01 '26

I'd think they're about as likely to kill her as big oil would be to kill someone who did something similar in their industry.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with big Ag, but they're the offspring of some of the most evil companies on Earth going back to the EIC who conquered India and got China hooked on opiates just to get tea, to the United Fruit Companies who installed puppet governments in Latin America, Africa and Asia to ensure steady supplies of tropical fruits to the West, to Monsanto the brains behind Agent Orange from the Vietnam War, or Cargill who owns substantial portions of the Amazon rainforest from piecemeal purchasing - often from shell companies - for future logging.

Big Ag are like the original evil capitalist megacorps before oil, before steel, before rail.

8

u/TxksDQZN Sep 01 '26

Why didn't big oil kill Elon Musk?

2

u/GogurtFiend Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

They cannot and will not answer you

EDIT: the answer is probably that Musk is in collusion with them somehow, to which the response should be: ok, what about every other company that's slowly pushing internal combustion vehicles out of business?

1

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

Elon Musk wasn't the original founder. It was founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning.

And people think he founded it and owns it; he's not the founder and has 20% ownership (not saying you thought that...just mentioning it).

So the richest man on the planet bought into it, and helped it grow.

1

u/GogurtFiend Sep 01 '26

Sure, but the point that needs to be driven across to these morons is: why didn't big oil kill Elon Musk (or, for that matter, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning)?

1

u/sleeper_shark Sep 01 '26

The whole "kill them" is tongue in cheek for fucks sake. Idk why Reddit takes things so literally.

I said Big Ag is as likely to kill her as Big Oil would be to someone that threatens them, which means not really likely to literally kill them but definitely likely to take their shots at them.

The main reason why big whatever hasn't taken on Musk is that Musk develops critical infra for the US, so going against him is going against Uncle Sam.

6

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

Who specifically are you referring to that was murdered by big oil? The makers of modern electric cars weren't murdered, not were the inventors of hybrid motors.

1

u/sleeper_shark Sep 01 '26

I didn't mean literally murdered...

2

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

My response to you is more of a culmination of the other responses. So my response to you is more a broad response encompassing all the others.

5

u/RT-LAMP Sep 01 '26 edited Sep 01 '26

Monsanto would probably actually like it since it makes their seeds more profitable to plant.

Yara, Nutrien, etc. would probably take a bit of a hit if this does actually work though.

2

u/ilicstefan Sep 01 '26

Monsanto does not exist anymore. It is now under Bayer.

Also, UREA and CAN are dirt cheap, there is no money in it.

1

u/Xaraxa Sep 01 '26

Just read anything about Monsanto or Dupont

5

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

Anything? I feel like very little would be written about them murdering anyone.

And Bayer bought out Monsanto in 2018, so any articles before 2018 wouldn't even be relevant.

1

u/Xaraxa Sep 01 '26

Read anything about Bayer then while you're at it.

3

u/ThisIsALine_____ Sep 01 '26

Uhh...okay.

There Linkin.

https://www.linkedin.com/company/bayer

Says nothing about murder.
