I thought I finally completed my preorders but of course Big Finish had to announce a Christmas Special with 9 and Susan! 😱

when i first started listening to big finish i tried listening to the extras and they all sounded very culty. every guest star would go on and on about how amazing dr who is.how it was the most important tv show in the world and how happy they were to be part of big finish and doing doctor

who. so i stopped listening to them. i was ok not my cup of tea. they would come at the end of the

audioplays. i could just move on. they used to be at the end of the box sets. again i could listen to the story and skip the extras. but now they put at the end of each story so you can't just put on a release and listen to all three stories in the row but they all get interrupted by extras that don't add a thing.

BF please put them at the end of all stories

Hello all and welcome back to the Big Finish Podcast Notes! Hope you've all had a lovely week.

Podcast Notes

• Jonathon Carley was recording something for Big Finish the night before this podcast.
• Someone asks if the buckles on Ash's shirt in the Twelfth Doctor Adventures were intentionally designed to look like clasps on old books, given the reveal that Ash is from the Land of Fiction. Benji doesn't know but they'll investigate.
• Benji used to put a lot of effort into the sound design of characters' clothes, especially in Survivors, but he has since toned it down a bit.
• Benji recently took a class at Dolby on their Dolby Atmos technology. I'm sure they won't start mixing releases in Dolby Atmos as most people listen on headphones and surely it's expensive, but interesting to note.
• Some of the app issues currently are linked to the way the older app interacts with the newer version of iOS and Android, which makes fixing them a longer process. They kept the existing app and linked it to the new database to make things smooth for customers, but the app was really due for an overhaul as well as the website.

What Big Finish I Was Listening To This Week: The Thirteenth Doctor Adventures: The Greatest Train Robbery. Definitely a low point for the series, I'm afraid to say.

Since we've gotten a new Confessions story, just thought I would ask. What did you think of the stories and the ending? Personally I thought Angel of War was the best story in this boxset and one of the best stories in Confessions, and as for Ever After I liked the story overall but didn't like it as an ending.

I've just completed listening to the 8th Doctor's adventures with Charley and Lucy, and I've become interested in dipping my toes into the other Doctors as well. But my problem is that unlike 8, they have a whole era of stories from the tv series that I have never seen before. is there required knowledge I should know before beginning these stories or can I just jump right in?

Had this crop up this morning and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same thing; the cover art shows up for the stories when they’re playing, but when it comes to the actual thumbnails, they’re either the BF logo or completely blank.

I’ve tried signing out, redownloading the app, going on- and off- line, turning my phone on and off, and the problem’s still persisting.

No issues with playback, but it makes trying to catalogue and find the right downloads a bit of a pain.

If Big Finish ever got another chance to make their own Doctors again I'd love for Alexander Vlahos to be the Doctor. A similar personality to the one he shows as Dorian Gray could really work for the role. (Could also work for the Master too)

I've just recently purchased Dark Gallifrey's Decayed Master trilogy and I plan on listening to them at work tonight however the MP3 version of Part 1 appears to have something wrong with it as it is not downloading at all. I tried downloading it on my PC to listen to before work and I had the same issue.

Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Is anyone else having problems with the app and being unable to download anything at all??

I've tried signing out, rebooting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app nothing is working and items just dont seem to be downloading.

Anyone else got this problem/found a fix??

I'm looking for some quality spooky stories to enjoy with the wife - she really enjoys Doctors 7-10 and Thirteen, as well as anything River Song. We did all the Lucie Miller stories and some of the Liv/Helen stuff back in the serialized boxset days. Want to spend wisely, given how expensive this stuff is now! Any recs?

I was listening to an episode when it just froze. I logged out and then back in but when I tried to download the box set it gave me an http 404 error. I check some of my other purchases but I was given the same message. Anyone know how to fix this?

is it a bug ? how do i get these ?

I was having trouble keeping track of what I had, owned, or what was out there for Big Finish in terms of Doctor Who and Doctor who Spin-Offs, and had some free-time so, I did this:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12POjrPdyFVbk8JwqAhSudqX5bzP9E0tLPTkpH4uJots/edit?usp=sharing

Feel free to copy it and use it for your own audio adventures, and if you feel theres any mustakes, anything missing or any suggestions, do let me know :3

All of the Lost Stories are on sale now! Was able to take advantage of the Halloween discount too and save an extra £10 quid once I picked up a couple Six and Flip stories to make up to the discount from the ones I got. Nice to also have a range where we get to listen to some of the greats we’ve lost like William Russell and Deborah Watling.

With all the drama concerning NuWho and RTD, I just want to thank Nicholas Briggs for simply producing great Doctor Who story after great Doctor Who story on Big Finish instead of trying to make DW personally "his." Keep them coming!

Leela meets the Sontarans in King of Sontar. Why does she not recognize them in Invasion of Time.

It's been a while since I listened to either of them, so I apologize if this is answered in King of Sontar.
