On my way out of the stadium I saw the med heli which is concerning

8

u/Headweirdoh Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

Man I feel so guilty for leaving early. I was on cloud nine, only to come home & see this shit.

u/rhinosteveo Texas A&M Aggies • Alabama Crimson Tide Sep 10 '23

I was worried it looked like a neck injury. Really hope he’s okay.

3

u/RamenRavisher Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

All early reports are looking promising. Looking like it’s not too serious. GG A&M brother. Best of luck to you guys rest of the seaso .

That’s great news.

Also if y’all wouldn’t mind running the table so that we look a little better, that’d be appreciated

Mario Cristobal on Kam Kinchens: “So far reports that we have on Kam, everything seems to be relatively normal. We’re going to head over there right after I get done with a press conference and see how he's doing. But it seems like we're gonna be fine.”

This sounds promising, prayers up.

Just hopping on the top comment, Cristobal said early reports are good and things are “relatively normal”

Best case scenario being a severe concussion is not a great situation to be in, but hopefully some of what we saw was the overhaul in response towards head and neck injuries at that stadium after Tua's issues last season.

1

u/ndkjr70 Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

“best case scenario being a severe concussion” why say something that is just blatantly incorrect?

7

u/zeusmeister Miami • Georgia Southern Sep 10 '23

I think all the guy means is that hopefully it’s just a bad concussion and not a career ending or life threatening neck injury. And hoping for a severe concussion is weird, but not when given the alternative.

4

u/ndkjr70 Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

the phrase he used was “best case scenario being a severe concussion”, which is silly. there are plenty of better scenarios.

Thank you.

Oh, that’s wonderful news.

u/desyhope Miami Hurricanes Sep 09 '23

Feels weird to hope for a concussion, but it seems better than a serious neck injury. I just hope he’s okay and it’s the worst part of sports.

Heard he was able to have control of his extremities which is good

u/GoldandBlue Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sep 10 '23

If true that's terrific news.

Source?

I didn't see anything about movement, but Mario said things were "relatively normal" https://twitter.com/Manny_Navarro/status/1700663769557262787?s=20

Reading reports from Mario’s presser

3

u/ACABincludingYourDad Sep 10 '23

They said it on the broadcast. He put his hand up and was talking to staff.

2

u/Nata901 Sep 10 '23

I guess the best news is if 'all clear' then just a stinger and not even concussion?!

1

u/desyhope Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

Fuck. Yes.

A concussion is definitely better than him being paralyzed wtf are you talking about

20

u/AstronautWorth3084 Sep 10 '23

Actually no I would say that a concussion is better than being paralyzed why are you guys so fucking stupid

9

u/southpluto Sep 10 '23

We know what you mean but if the alternative is like paralysis, yea a concussion would be a better outcome. Lesser of two evils

Doesn’t feel right to celebrate the win

74

u/Revolutionary-Swan29 Miami Hurricanes Sep 09 '23

The vibe is off. It hurts.

41

u/agentb719 Miami • Mississippi State Sep 10 '23

definitely, I'm not even excited about beating a ranked team after that injury

22

u/darijabs Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

Even when we win we lose. It’s a canes life 😞. Please be ok Kam

19

u/Ducksaucenem Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

Ya, my house was so hyped before that. Something’s are bigger than football.

1

u/Sticketoo_DaMan Florida State Seminoles • ACC Sep 10 '23

Y'all spanked that ass tonight. Try to enjoy the afterglow.

2

u/RamenRavisher Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

You’re a real one, my friend.

1

u/Sticketoo_DaMan Florida State Seminoles • ACC Sep 10 '23

We can talk sh*t about each others' teams all we want. I don't want anyone having their career ended in a CFB game. Not even the <eye twitch> <cough> Gators.

u/A_Roomba_Ate_My_Feet Florida State Seminoles • USA Eagles Sep 10 '23

Heard about the injury. Hope it was just a temporary thing and that he'll be fine. Scary stuff.

25

u/hobbystuffsyeah Texas A&M Aggies • TIAA Sep 09 '23

i stopped rooting for us when he went down. y’all deserved that win at the very least.

3

u/RamenRavisher Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

All reports say he’s going to be good. GG A&M bro best of luck rest of the season.

2

u/hobbystuffsyeah Texas A&M Aggies • TIAA Sep 10 '23

it's gonna take more than luck to save us, GG and good luck against fsu later in the season

2

u/RamenRavisher Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

You will beat Bama just watch.

I know it’s not what you expected out of the season but you will have your fun, trust me.

2

u/SNjr Florida State Seminoles • The Alliance Sep 10 '23

Any word on him? Always upsetting when you see a player go down like that

3

u/KingCarbonX Miami Hurricanes • Team Chaos Sep 10 '23

The medical chopper just landed at the stadium a few minutes ago.

2

u/SNjr Florida State Seminoles • The Alliance Sep 10 '23

Oh man, prayers for him and his family

2

u/Jetski_Squirrel Florida State Seminoles • Bacardi Bowl Sep 10 '23

Wait, what happened? Watched most of the game except for the last 2ish minutes

4

u/GordaoPreguicoso Miami Hurricanes Sep 10 '23

Him and another player made a tackle together and everyone else got up but him. They wouldn’t show the replay and it took a long time to cart him off the field.

3

u/Jetski_Squirrel Florida State Seminoles • Bacardi Bowl Sep 10 '23

Well fuck, that sucks

1

u/TheCalvinator Texas A&M Aggies • UTSA Roadrunners Sep 10 '23

Hope he's alright, awful to see that happen to anyone.

1

u/Downtown_Ad4580 Miami Hurricanes • FIU Panthers Sep 10 '23
