There is no coaching staff in FBS worse at managing a game than Texas A&M. This program’s putrid stench can only be cleansed when you clean house.

Fire Jimbo

He is outrageously bad at the end of games. It’s indefensible.

My wife thinks his goal is to get out of the game as quickly as possible, regardless of the outcome. If you look at it from that lense it makes perfect sense

I agree. I’m convinced he’s trying to get his buyout as fast as possible. Why work extra years for the same amount of money? It’s worth more now than it’ll be each year down the road.

Lol I hate this theory and I also think it’s correct

5

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

My theory is he’s looking for a 10-year deal at a school that is willing to pay for facilities and coaches in the manner HRH Jimbo I deigns appropriate.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

Why work more years when few years do trick?

u/Ryaninthesky Texas Longhorns • Duke Blue Devils Oct 15 '23

I love the idea that he’s tanking as much as he can to get fired and get his money, but A&M just refuses.

What happens when a coach says "D's get degrees"

Disagree. Looked pretty easy to defend against.

You guys could really use a younger head coach who understands the modern game with a modern offense. A proven p5 guy who understands development AND recruiting in a big state like Texas. Maybe a guy who was born in Texas and coached in the Southeast. It sounds like Mike Norvell would be a perfect fit if you just throw an insane amount of years and money at him.

This sounds similar to something I've heard of happening before, just can't quite place it. It probably went really well, so what's the worst that could happen?

Is his name kevin sumlin by any chance?

Don't you dare give them ideas they've already had and regret!!!

37

u/JL1v10 Texas A&M Aggies Oct 14 '23

I mean having a backup qb that just stands there and makes slow reads doesn’t help.

Three consecutive years of the starter getting hurt for the season is not a freak accident. It’s poor conditioning, poor line play, and poor self defense by the qb. All of those things are taught. Who is in charge of getting them coaches to teach them to do all of those things? Jimbo. Who had the chance but didn’t fire the OL coach after the dumpster fire last year? Jimbo. Where does the buck stop? Jimbo.

33

u/JL1v10 Texas A&M Aggies Oct 14 '23

Umm I’ll give you poor line play but you’re pretty dense if you think broken ankles are something a qb can condition against and defend themselves from

5

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

Gotta condition your ankles bro

4

u/sirbrambles Texas A&M Aggies Oct 14 '23

fatigue is often a factor in lower body injuries

3

u/TwiztedImage Texas A&M Aggies • Summertime Lover Oct 15 '23

True, but it wasn't a factor in Weigman's injury, nor King's.

Ok guy

15

u/SuperAwesomeBrian Paper Bag Oct 14 '23

No, please, I’d like to hear this. What is your training regimen and workout that renders an ankle impenetrable from a 230 lb human bending it the wrong way?

13

u/zachxyz Oklahoma Sooners Oct 14 '23

A gallon of milk a day and goat yoga

5

u/RLLRRR Texas Longhorns • Red River Shootout Oct 15 '23

Start with smaller breaks to build up immunity, duh.

-6

u/dicky_________seamus Texas A&M Aggies • /r/CFB Poll Veteran Oct 14 '23

If you don’t understand the basics of cause and effect I don’t know how to help you.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '23

So tell us. What did Weigman not do with his ankles in the offseason that led to that?

6

u/white_newbalances Texas A&M Aggies • Kansas Jayhawks Oct 14 '23

I guess more dirt needed to be applied.

2

u/Asderfvc Tennessee Volunteers Oct 15 '23

Fatigue from poor conditioning could make you move out the way slower as the line collapses backwards. Leading to the pile of Lineman rolling over your ankle because you were a step slow

1

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

And none of that describes what happened when Weigman got injured.

1

u/vollover Tennessee Volunteers • Oregon Ducks Oct 15 '23

Drink more ovaltine

1

u/QuickEscalation Tennessee Volunteers Oct 15 '23

Yeah if they were all soft tissue injuries like constant sprains and strains they’d have a point, but it truly is just mostly shit luck for the A&M QBs lately.

3

u/Doc_McPuffins_ Texas Longhorns Oct 14 '23

It’s poor conditioning

He intentionally fattens his players up so they can't run away from the program

2

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

I believe the bucks keep flowing with Jimbo.

-1

u/Itchybumworms Tennessee Volunteers Oct 14 '23

He's the starter.

6

u/TwiztedImage Texas A&M Aggies • Summertime Lover Oct 15 '23

Hes the backup. Our starter is out for the season. Max is 2nd string QB even if he's now starting all the games.

-7

u/Itchybumworms Tennessee Volunteers Oct 15 '23

"Max is 2nd string QB even if he's now starting all the games."

Lol, no.

GG.

2

u/TwiztedImage Texas A&M Aggies • Summertime Lover Oct 15 '23

I know you're desperate to take a dig on us, but its pretty obtuse to say Max is our starting QB when he lost the QB battle over the spring/summer, wasn't our starter entering the season, and wasn't starting at any point until our 1st string QB/starter was injured.

Hes starting, but he's not the starter.

Take the W and spare us the 🤡 shit.

-6

u/Itchybumworms Tennessee Volunteers Oct 15 '23

"Hes starting, but he's not the starter. " Got it. Samesies last year for us with Hendon Hooker. He did t start in 2021 until Milton got hurt. He held the spot warm for Milton until late last year when he got hurt and let Milton have his starting role back.

Lol.

"Take the W and spare us the 🤡 shit." Take the L and dont say clown shit as an excuse unless you expect a response.

1

u/TwiztedImage Texas A&M Aggies • Summertime Lover Oct 15 '23

Your starter is QB1, your backup is QB2. When your QB2 becomes QB1 because he beats him out/QB1 tanks, that's your new starter. When QB1 is injured for the rest of the season, QB2 starts, but nobody considers him the team's starter (QB1). He didn't earn it.

We took the L you donut. Lol. You're in here acting like you've never played a sport in your entire life and trying to "technically speaking" your way out of it. You're the only one with that warped ass view dude.

Our QB1 is injured. QB1 is the starter. Max is QB2. Max is starting as long as QB1 is injured. If Weigman was better tomorrow; he'd instantly be starting. Starter=/=starting. Starter (for a game) =/= Starter (QB1).

If Milton gets suspended for 2 games, are you going to refer to your QB2 as your new starter, or as your backup who is starting the next two games? Go ahead and lie, but you know 99% of your fans are going to say the latter, even those booing shitheels at the game today. You're the only person that would consider your backup the new starter in that context.

1

u/Itchybumworms Tennessee Volunteers Oct 15 '23

I'm loving this. At what point is your former starting QB no longer your starter?

1

u/TwiztedImage Texas A&M Aggies • Summertime Lover Oct 15 '23

You're loving learning how the overwhelming majority of sports fans view starters? Lol.

A QB loses his starting spot when he graduates, retires, his contract ends, traded, or he's beat out by a backup QB in competition.

You honestly think Tom Brady wasn't the starter for his team even when he was injured? Lol. Not a single Patrjot fan thought of whoever-the-fuck-it-was as the starter. He was the backup and they were waiting for Brady to come back.

Your team also fired their coach mid season and ours is in year 7. Still, let’s meet at the bleach store for some drinks.

Start with Addazio and give Jimbo another year, at least.
