I don't care that we didn't cover, the Aggies have always been snake bit in Starkvegas, the Aggies are returning to Kyle Field 4-0 in SEC play, with 3 of those wins being by double digits, and only 1 of them being at home.

Just. Keep. Winning.

We went nearly three years without winning a true road game. I’ll take them any way we can get them.

And now we got 2 in one year, one with our backup QB and one with our starter playing like shit.

I’ve seen that stat so many times, and it still surprises me. Jimbo is terrible.

JFC, stop whining about a guy who doesn't even coach for you anymore.

Bro is a Jimbo defender, I'm weak

The game management has improved dramatically this year. Jimbo would have lost this game and probably the bowling green game.

A&M and State always seems like a really close game no matter what year it is. I personally like to think it’s because we both wear maroon and are (was in the case of State) A&M colleges.

It always takes me a few minutes to realize we are not the team in maroon when we play in starkville

Yep. Just something about the two teams.

It’s the colors

I still thinks it’s the entire “A&M” thing as well. Mississippi State was Mississippi A&M up until 1932.

A&M won 51-10 starting their third string QB last year

They also lost 42-24 in 2022 and 26-22 in 2021. The overall series sits at 9-8 A&M, so it’s a fairly close series.

Honestly, the fact the Ags survived this week is incredible. This had all the makings of a trap game and they still managed to keep it somewhat together.

I'm still very nervous for LSU, but I think for once the Ags will actually make it a good fight.

For once? You’re too quick to forget the 7 OT game.

That game was fucking legendary. Best thing I've ever stayed up late for.

It’s genuinely my favorite football memory.

I went to bed when I thought the game was over. My dad woke me up a few minutes later for OT.

I was working nightshift on a rig in Louisiana when this game happened. The driller was a diehard lsu fan thatd call me every 30 minutes to get an update to who won. Dude eventually did not believe me that the game was still going

I had an exam the next day. Barely slept. Worth it.

That was 6 years ago, and it was a rarity at that.

Prior to 2018, the Ags hadn't beaten LSU since 1995.

After 2018, the Ags have only 2 wins against the Tigers.

u/TheBlackBaron Texas A&M • North Texas Oct 20 '24

Since 2018 the home team has won every match up. That's about what you'd expect. Better than the awful stretch from 2012 to 2017.

6 years ago is insane, feels so recent

To be fair we only played them once between 95 and 2012 if I recall correctly.

Home team has won the LSU series I think the last 6 years. So I'm definitely glad it's at Kyle this year.

LSU handled Arky well yesterday. I just hope we get the good Weigman the rest of the season and Bisontis/Scourton are alright. Conner had me so nervous with those dropped picks….

Gamecocks are looking good this year as well…

Jimbo would have lost it

Elko is a good coach. Said pre-season I was very happy to get you guys week 1 because there’s so many moving parts between coaches and transfers and he’s only going to get better as time goes on.

4

u/HoovesCarveCraters Texas A&M Aggies • McGill Redbirds Oct 20 '24

My favorite thing about Elko is you can tell how much he cares. Every Jimbo press conference or interview was “execute” meanwhile mid game Elko is telling the media straight up we’re playing like shit and need to wake the fuck up. Then we come out in the second half and give up less than 100 yards.

There was also his press conference where he defended Weigman - saying you can criticize his play but not his character that’s just uncalled for. He loves the team and he puts 100% into it, and you can see how the players respond.

Yeah I definitely thought we'd lose this one, we're cursed against them

u/AesarPhreaking Texas A&M Aggies • SEC Oct 20 '24

Surprisingly, this seems to be general fan sentiment.

We won the game. We survive and advance. Next week we get to play for the undisputed lead in the SEC. This is the most fun I’ve had as an Aggie fan
