A&M's strategy of lulling ND to sleep with sicko red zone playcalling worked like a charm.

Blocking TE with the game winning catch lol

If you asked me before this game what a Boerkicher or a Melin-Ohrstrom was, I would have guessed at least one of those was my coffee table.

Melin-Ohrstrom sounds like a scientific term. The Melin-Ohrstrom Principle

18

u/smitherenesar Pac-10 • RPI Engineers Sep 14 '25

Definition: blaming a single player when the defense allows 40 or more points

7

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '25

The Melin-Ohstrom Principle is a corrallary to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. A major break on a kick return tends to be called back due to a hold but it’s impossible to directly observe the hold and the return simultaneously

alright i laughed hard at that one

Boerkicher I can understand as he just transferred in. But jf you don't know the Swede (or Thor) can you really call yourself a fan?

I’d never heard of a runza. Those look delicious

I'll be crucified by the other NU students/grads for saying this, but they're ok. Worth trying, but not anything amazing. Unless someone's grandma makes them from scratch.

I got degrees from schools within both of their systems . Both schools don’t have their own football team so I root for the flagship

I was desperately trying to remember if I even knew who that guy was lol

Then they said he was at Nebraska on TV and I could vaguely remember him coming over in the portal

While hinish could have filed a police report for what happened to him on that play and it never should have been allowed.

“Coach this QB Blast to the closed side of the field shouldn’t be the first and long play!”

Elko: “EXACTLY! It’s GENIUS!”

They just needed that extra space on the left side of the end zone for the 4th down call

Why have 4 downs if you don’t plan on using them all

20

u/DeathRose007 Texas A&M Aggies • LSU Tigers Sep 14 '25

We’d use a 5th down if they let us. It’s worked before it’ll work again

6

u/Twalin Texas A&M Aggies Sep 14 '25

Yea, you definitely need to setup that spacing for the wheel route to the blocking TE!

21

u/rgptxbones Texas A&M Aggies Sep 14 '25

Getting Dennis Franchione flashbacks with running the injured QB to the short side of the field.

I will never fathom that we put Christian Gray one on one with Jeremiah Smith on the deciding play for the national championship

The guy from 50 shades of grey?

27

u/Phantom1100 Alabama Crimson Tide • Team Chaos Sep 14 '25

Well, he definitely punishes the defense when he’s put on the field

21

u/Extreme-Island-5041 Texas Longhorns • USF Bulls Sep 14 '25

Instead of 50 shades of gray, it's 50 yards in penalties.

No, you're thinking of the guy from Nip/Tuck

183

u/CalTono Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sep 14 '25

Gray is such a sorry corner, he is good for at least 2 dumb holding and/or PI a game

83

u/Pleasant_Network3986 Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 14 '25

well he gifted T A&M the set of downs that ended with the TD on a 3rd and 16 so i think ur right

6

u/Stoneador Notre Dame Fighting Irish • Sickos Sep 14 '25

All he had to do was just stand in the way and Texas A&M doesn’t get their first touchdown. Instead he gives one of the worst attempts I’ve ever seen of tackling and they take it all the way.

3

u/Automatic_Release_92 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sep 14 '25

That was actually Stroman. He fucked up 3 times on one play, failed to turn around in time, hesitated to make the tackle, and then fucked it up terribly. He had one more bad angle and then didn’t play again the rest of the night.

Gray was bad on that play too though.

2

u/FlammableEyeballs Penn State • St. Francis (PA) Sep 14 '25

You'd think he'd be good at tying receivers down.

4

u/Merisiel Ohio State • Louisville Sep 14 '25

I’ll allow it.

9

u/ndfan737 Notre Dame • Indiana Sep 14 '25

Buchner fumbled an extra point in a 1 point game and Gray was still a much bigger reason they lost this game lol.

9

u/CorruptedRat Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sep 14 '25

I was downvoted in our Reddit during the offseason for calling Golden out for doing that. Absolute insanity.

1

u/Active_Mastodon5288 Sep 14 '25

I will never fathom how we allowed Tyler Buchner back on the team.

1

u/croth4 Sep 14 '25

u/DeathRose007 Texas A&M Aggies • LSU Tigers Sep 14 '25

I’m used to that preceding a throw out of bounds or in the dirt. You’re allowed to throw a completed pass into the endzone? Who’d a thunk.

9

1

u/still_none_the_wiser Texas A&M Aggies Sep 14 '25

Have you seen how inept our leadership is when it comes to contracts?!? I can think of 75 million reasons why the sarcasm part is lost on me!!!

By the way Klein is garbage. Should have been fired after last year.

1

u/BlacksmithDistinct17 Kansas State Wildcats Sep 14 '25

How much of the reigns does he have at A&M? Turns out at Kstate he was extremely restricted, and our good couple seasons were because of his play calling leaking through. After he left I've heard it became way more locked down with the OC (who is shit anyways) just doing what Kleiman says and we are currently in our worst season since 1989

2

u/theurge14 Kansas State Wildcats Sep 14 '25

Maybe they’re all bad playcallers. Football coaches aren’t exactly known for being smart people.

1

u/gcfgjnbv Sep 14 '25

Elko is defense minded and calls the defensive plays this year, so I bet Klein has near free rein with elko probably only making 4th down go for it/fg type decisions.
