Casual Ohio St fans should be ashamed

Over 5,000 hate filled comments have showed up on Ohio St kicker Jayden Fielding’s social media since last night. Fanbase should be ashamed they’re harassing one of their own, it isn’t good for the player, team, or sport. No excuse for it, touch grass. Hope the fanbase can lift up this young man in time for their next game instead of tearing him down even more.

It happens in every sport. Seth McLaughlin got ran out of Bama for bad snaps two years ago.

Yeah but it happens in other sports too. After the “woah/trouble with the snap” play in 2015, Michigan’s punter got a bunch of hate and death threats as well. He finished the season and never played American football again.

Ok it also happens in other sports though. For example, when Cam Ward sat in the 2nd half of Miami -Iowa state, everyone lost their minds even though he set records in the first half and was the reason they were competitive.

And for as many people throwing out GAMBLING in their posts, some of my fellow packer fans posted similar crap towards Brandon Bostick when he fucked up the onside kick catch against Seattle back in 2014.

Anonymity affords shittiness. That's all it is.  Just hoping nobody ever acts on it.

Auburn didn’t get run out of Texas for one bad kick. He was struggling all season and Sark told him he was going to be replaced but that he could stay and be backup.

Just took a trip through r/longhornnation and searched the post game threads. Put Bert in the search for those post and Texas has A LOT of things to say about Auburn. Much of it looks the same as what is said about Fielding in last night post game thread.

I’m not saying it to shit on Texas. I’m saying this because OSU is not an outlier on having shitty people in the fanbase. Texas is one of them. And so is 90% of most fanbases. It’s absolutely not right how degenerates treat these young people they’ve never even interacted with and we can all agree on that. But this Texas flair saying “shame on OSU” when we all have evidence of last year’s discussions is pretty ironic.

I’m not saying fans didn’t go after him. I’m saying Auburn’s issues, and the reason he’s not at Texas anymore, were more than a single bad kick.

A 19 year old formula 1 driver was getting death threats last week for making a mistake that resulted in a driver passing him.
