Keep in mind they still made it to the quarter finals. Bama’s version of poverty is still being a top 10 team.

Must be tough to be so poor

They made the quarterfinal, idk about being a top 10 team though

Top 16 for sure

Remind me how many teams make the quarterfinals?

You seem to have a problem separating two concepts.

So what teams should be above them to knock them out of the top 10?

There’s a pretty long list of teams that wouldn’t lose to Florida State, wouldn’t lose to Georgia by 21, and wouldn’t lose to Indiana by 35.

Notice how you didn't actually answer the question? You can cherrypick moments like that for pretty much any team.

Let's look at the teams on the top 10 bubble:

  • A&M - Didn't score a touchdown in their CFP game and didn't beat a single team worth a damn
  • OU - Bama just beat them
  • ND - Lost their only two games against real opponents
  • BYU - Blown out twice by the same team and no major wins
  • Texas - Lost 3 games, including one to Florida
  • Vandy - Lost to Bama and no ranked wins

So again, which teams do you put ahead of Bama in the top 10?

Man you’re really on Bama’s dick for a Longhorn lmao. Sorry they got utterly destroyed today, it’ll be ok dude. They lost FOUR games this year. Florida State is a worse loss than any of those you just listed btw. So is getting beat 38-3 by Indiana. That’s an ass stomping.

I'm not on Bama's dick at all, I'm super happy they got btfo today. You STILL haven't answered the question - why is that?

Let's try again - which teams should be ahead of Bama in the top 10?

Wisconsin only lost by 24 and we're legitimately ass.

There’s actually a short list of teams that didn’t lose to Windiana by 35. Welcome to the NWO. This sub is like watching Ron Burgundy cope with a female anchor.

that is not a top ten team

Regardless of how overrated they may be, they:

  • Made the SECCG
  • Made the playoff
  • Beat OU in round 1
  • Beat UGA in the regular season

The only true blemish on the season is the week 1 loss to FSU. Their other losses are all to playoff teams, two of whom they traded wins with. Even if they're "not a top 10 team," this is hardly a bad season. Any other program would kill for this to be considered a down year.

Also it's my duty to mention that it's hilarious reading a claim like this from a ND flair.

Why do you assume that ND even would have made it to the second round considering they couldn’t beat the two playoff teams they played?

All this hypothetical glazing for Notre Dame is insane. People act like it’s a guarantee that they’d be competitive, yet the only actual data we have says otherwise. The best thing on their resume is a loss to a team that didn’t score a TD in the first round. I’m supposed to believe it’s a sure thing they’d play Indiana close?

Weird that you didn’t list A&M. I’m not sure what it is, but something tells me that they stood a chance against you too…

Any reason you’re leaving them off?

So A&M beat y'all 3 months ago, yet now it's just unimaginable that they could beat you? Georgia and Ole Miss just have absolutely not chance, despite being equally matched and beating everyone else on their schedules?

Do you really not see how this is next-level arrogance? Do you not understand why people make fun of y'all for relying on Vegas odds?

There are four teams in this playoff that stood a chance against ND. Oregon, Miami, Indiana, and OSU.

Texas A&M literally beat ND, on the road, and they wouldn't stand a chance?

That being said you guys definitely should've been in over Bama

Lol, okay

Nonsense

They weren't actually a top 10 team tho.

7

u/Redeem123 Team Chaos • Texas Longhorns Jan 02 '26

Who was then?

12-team playoff. OU, JMU, and Tulane are objectively behind them. I’d say A&M falls behind them too. That puts them at #8.

The options for teams to jump them are: ND, Texas, BYU, Vandy, Utah.

Vandy is obviously out. Texas’s claim is pretty weak given a similar resume, but Bama only caught a 3rd loss because of the CCG. Unless you really want to say all 3 of those other teams have a better claim than Bama, that still leaves them in the top 10.
