For those wondering: Yes there will still be a TJOTW vote and no I'm not going to declare Rutgers the winner on a Thursday night.

But if there's something out there that tops this I can't wait to see it (unless it involves Washington)

Congrats on your nomination, Knights.

Early strong contender, for sure lol

It's going to be very hard for anything the rest of the year to top this. Hell forget tank job of the year, this might be the tank job of the decade or even millennium.

There's some stiff competition this decade (I'd personally give the award to the Miami Meltdown), but this is a strong option. UMass has been truly awful for years.

Maybe for the year, but I still remember when UNLV beat Baylor 27-24 in Waco in 1999, on a 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown as time expired.

UNLV finished that year at 3-8, dead last in the MWC.

Well Baylor was 1-11 that year so not that big of a shocker, but yeah rough way to lose

3 wins is 3/8ths of the wins that UMass has this decade, though.

True, but we’re talking about a single game tank job. I’d entertain any and all competitors to that game for the ultimate tank job title, because it’s pretty hard to beat that.

It will be Rutgers and it won't even be close

There would obviously be worse upsets (teams in top 10 losing to G6/FCS school) but they are very unlikely compared to this

I would very much want to see it involve Washington this week

Early candidate for tank job of the year

The only way Washington would be in on this is if they got blown out by the Cougars on national TV.

UMass and WSU are basically rated the same as 135 and 138th "best" teams. Huskies are ranked much higher than Rutgers

Luckily, Huskies won't lose so it doesn't matter.

Wow, kinda surprising to see WSU and ORST so low after only a few years.

There’s a reason no conference wanted them. They were over achieving because in a P5 conference but their base line is pretty low so when they lost the cachet of being P5 they plummeted.

Please please please involve Washington
