The amount of times I attempted to explain to random users/flairs why 8.3 seconds is not somehow the same as 9 seconds was disturbing. Just constant dumb comments about how "tenths of a second don't exist in CFB".
If you're genuinely asking, why do you think Michigan didn't win? Is it based solely on NBC's game clock/play footage that wasn't synced? Or something else?
The fact the refs asked the game clocks to be set to 9 seconds for the final play
The fact that they reset the clock to 9 seconds before the play means they were saying, "there's 9 seconds left in the game" lol
Unless you think that 0.001-0.999 seconds is displayed as 00 lol instead of 01, which would be insane. The clock displays how much time remains at each tick, so 15:00 means 15 minutes remain and the tick to 01 means 1 second remains
I've seen people point to the NCAA rule that the game clock shall not display tenths of a second as evidence that 0.001-0.999 = 00, but that's an inference because it does not say how the clock should determine what gets displayed, all it says is what it will not display
All of this is to say nothing of the fact that there are several videos from several different angles showing that there was 01 seconds on the stadium game board when the ball was caught. Not to mention that the play was very clearly under 9 seconds
Not to burst your troll bubble, but literally nobody outside of this sub acts like there's any sort of asterisk. Haters love to claim that Stalions was the only reason Michigan was winning but then just completely ignores how they still beat every single tough opponent after the scandal hit. Turns out that team didn't need signs to beat Bama or Washington either, must be why the CFP and every ruling body in the sport didn't say otherwise.
