Having the ball snapped into Mateer's nuts as time expired really exemplifies OU as a whole today

I really thought there was still a second when it hit his sack

Ending the game with a big sack

Medium-sized sack, at best.

That sack can front squat 480 pounds!

No, that's the Michigan hockey team

Could have been Sooner...

Now hold on. Was his sack in bounds when it grazed that ball…? That’s what they’re gonna be looking at down on the field, folks.

"After further review, the ball was determined to graze the clothing instead of making contact with the tiny, tiny genitalia. By rule, the player did not make contact with the ball and the clock will continue to run. Michigan wins."

We're going to need the Hawk-Eye view of the sack impact collision to know for sure

It was 100% snapped with a second on the clock but Oklahoma had like 4 guys not set and at least 2 not even onside so easier just to say end of game

6

u/mdchemey Michigan • Tennessee Sep 12 '26

yeah the total difference between "nah the clock ran out game over" and "you snapped the ball at :01, half your team was either not set or not even onside, false start, 5 yard penalty, 10 second runoff, by rule the game is over" is one is much more annoying to adjudicate

11

u/yogurtshwartz Michigan Wolverines Sep 12 '26

I think we are going to need to replay that final snap to see if there is time on the clock from like ten different angles

18

u/RyeRyeRyan93 BYU Cougars Sep 12 '26

Why wasn’t that reviewed and OU given an extra second?

45

u/entenduintransit Michigan Wolverines • Syracuse Orange Sep 12 '26

pretty sure it was snapped before all of OU's players were onside lol

Take a second, give a second. Things are equal again.

Where y’all finding these extra seconds every week?!?

1

u/FuzzyTarget900 Sep 13 '26

You weren't looking at the Michigan game clock I guess

The C really just said "fuck it" there. They still had WRs not even close to being lined up.

Try the entire Venables era

10

u/PM_ME_EXCEL_QUESTION Texas Longhorns Sep 12 '26

Didn’t you all just extend him?

8

u/EasternParfait1787 Oklahoma Sooners Sep 12 '26

I’m wondering if you guys were the ones that paid for that

2

u/PM_ME_EXCEL_QUESTION Texas Longhorns Sep 12 '26

Caught me. Parker Livingstone is also a double agent who will go down as a Longhorn legend for sabotaging OU this season

1

u/jayjude Notre Dame • Georgia State Sep 12 '26

The refs fucking Alabama and allowing OU to upset Bama and getting them into the playoffs has screw OU long term

1

u/Elite_Taco Oklahoma Sooners Sep 13 '26

For reasons I do not understand, yes.

13

u/WildAmsonia Michigan State Spartans Sep 12 '26

And receivers lightly jogging back to the line

You’ve gotta feel bad for OU fans.

They got accustomed to having a great offense for most of a decade, Venables’ first OC hire shat the bed, and he only missed on bringing in Jake Spavital and Sawyer Robertson as a pair last year because Spav’s wife caught a cancer diagnosis.

Now OU fans get to be repeatedly kicked in the metaphorical balls by John Mateer and Ben Arbuckle’s inept offense, while Spav’s keeps putting up numbers down in Waco with an island of misfit toys roster.

3

u/jayjude Notre Dame • Georgia State Sep 12 '26

I'm just waiting for Mateer to look like the QB media keeps hyping him up to be

2

u/Strict_Snow1996 Oklahoma Sooners Sep 12 '26

Why did you remind me? I think we’re cursed, genuinely. Funny enough the first hire was literally littrell

1

u/Seth_Littrells_alt North Texas Mean Green • Team Chaos Sep 13 '26

Damn, forgot about that. I’m still confused why Littrell was so bad, he was a really good playcaller for his first couple years in Denton, before he passed that off to Graham Harrell.

5

u/BlazinAzn38 Arizona Wildcats • Colorado State Rams Sep 12 '26

Venables lives and dies by the OC and I’m not sure this is a good one but we’ll see

6

u/PossessionKooky3848 Sep 13 '26

Choking when your up by 20 is far worse. Hook em!!!

-1

u/jaylenbrownisbetter Ohio State Buckeyes Sep 13 '26

And losing 28-14 in the cotton bowl is far worse than a 1 point L on the road at night. Go bucks and flair up

2

u/GenitalFurbies Michigan Wolverines • Sickos Sep 13 '26

Save big seasons at Ma-nards

2

u/Gone213 Michigan • North Dakota Sep 12 '26

Yea I didnt like how the michigan defense was all cheering and shit after that sack. A competent offense would have been able to spike the ball or run a play and get michigan on some sort of penalty there for being offsides and too many men on the field.

4

u/angryjimmyfilms Michigan Wolverines Sep 12 '26

It was 4th down, a spike was not an option, but an offsides call was definitely in play. I was yelling at my TV to stop celebrating and get lined up, lol.

1

u/Gone213 Michigan • North Dakota Sep 12 '26

Looked like they tried spiking it anyways lmao

1

u/inbetweendreamstho Sep 12 '26

This game just sadly reminded me of how fucked Auburn got at ok last year. :(
