Why didn't Ohio state just add 1 second back to the clock? Are they stupid?

It’s unheralded but important work. Thank you for contributing to the “Beat Ohio State” cause

u/patrick66 Pittsburgh Panthers • Team Chaos Sep 13 '26

They kinda did! They just threw an int 40 yards from the end zone with it lol

41

u/SirMellencamp Alabama Crimson Tide • SEC Sep 13 '26

Every single Texas DB went for that ball and there was a chance at the end it could have been tipped to an OSU receiver with nothing but grass in front of him

u/mannheimcrescendo Sep 13 '26

Chance schmance guy

42

u/CaptainKursk Texas Longhorns • Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Is there a lore reason?

31

u/katarh Georgia Bulldogs • /r/CFB Donor Sep 13 '26

I just realized that Michigan's 1 second is going to go into this year's commentary the same way Kirby's (not a) time out did last year.

u/Pyro1934 Georgia Bulldogs • College Football Playoff Sep 13 '26

Rightfully so on both lol

19

u/CarterAC3 Michigan • Grand Valley State Sep 13 '26

Underwood has the arm to complete that last pass

/s....but not really

4

u/lakeshore34 Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Yes

3

u/happytree23 Sep 13 '26

What a bunch of idiots, why didn't they think of that?!

1

1

u/happytree23 Sep 13 '26

Okay, cool. At first, I was like, "Wait, don't they get huge paychecks to think of things like that?!"

2

u/A_burners Sep 13 '26

Cos they threw an interception

2

u/reddoor17 Texas Longhorns Sep 13 '26

Because Texas would have had the ball

1

u/royalbluehen Pittsburgh • Michigan Sep 13 '26

Yes.

1

u/GeneralOptimal10 Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Yes, they are stupid.

1

u/am_i_a_towel Sep 13 '26

Genuinely made me spit out my coffee

-2

u/Specialist_Modee Sep 13 '26

They tried. They really did. This officiating team was on the verge of becoming Heisman finalists. That and Texas shitting the bed for a few quarters is not a great strategy.

So Michigan's nonsensical bullshit win is exonerated all of the sudden? lol

The game and post-game thread brigading by your fanbase is just sad.

29

u/TheVaniloquence Boston College Eagles • UMass Minutemen Sep 13 '26

You’re so fucking mad right now

-18

u/lance- /r/CFB Sep 13 '26

Not really. The facts remain that 1) OSU blew it but will make the playoffs, 2) Michigan is mediocre and won't, and 3) your teams are irrelevant.

18

u/AeolusA2 Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

2-0 you salty bitch

26

u/Fit8510 Georgia Bulldogs Sep 13 '26

Back off, guys, Lance's feelings are hurt

-32

u/lance- /r/CFB Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26

You post in r/WCW, so it makes sense you like fabricated outcomes.

24

u/regarding_zacks Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

There was 1 second left and we are 2-0. I'm sorry that hurts your feelings.

-20

u/lance- /r/CFB Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26

Just check any other thread from the past week here in which your reddit fanbase didn't brigade. The majority of the world, including this subreddit, is not on your side on this one.

22

u/regarding_zacks Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Pretty sure the majority of people with functioning brains changed their tune when there was footage taken from inside the stadium that clearly shows 1 second left on the clock. Again, I'm sorry reality hurts your feelings.

2-0.

-3

u/lance- /r/CFB Sep 13 '26

I must have missed that thread this week, because this entire sub was clowning on you for 6 days straight, along with r/sports. Maybe you'll squeeze back into the top 25 with this one, little tyke.

18

u/regarding_zacks Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Oh no!!! Not r/sports !!

Log off buddy. 2-0. Weep.

"Michigan falling from AP number 16 to unranked and 3rd in "recieving votes" (essentially 28th) ties the largest drop in the AP Poll after a win ever."

17

u/regarding_zacks Michigan Wolverines Sep 13 '26

Damn! That's crazy.

13-12.

2-0.

Got any more links, lil guy?

u/lance- /r/CFB Sep 13 '26

I don't need any more? You didn't exactly discredit my points. No one respects you outside of this thread your L fanbase brigaded.

[@statholesports] I found 175 college football field storms since 2019. No team had a sadder storm field than Michigan (-27.5) last night and Michigan holds two of the three saddest field storms.

The only thing 'nonsensic' about Michigan's win last week is people's inability to count. In no universe did that second to last play take 9 seconds.
