It would be an Aggie thing to do to lose to Kentucky but turn around and beat LSU though

15

u/letmypeoplebathe Texas A&M Aggies • Team Chaos 28d ago

Only if they won. We can't summon voodoo unless it's to spoil

8

u/Snark728 Virginia Tech Hokies 28d ago

The conversation is going to be about how they're going to use your game to get back on track though. You guys can make every talking head look even more stupid.

5

u/No_Discussion3053 LSU Tigers 28d ago

Marcel Reed has slaughtered Bakers defense 2 years in a row, I don’t expect things to be different this time.

1

u/vy2005 Texas Longhorns 27d ago

Would it? I don't feel like A&M is especially known for surprising wins, especially on the road

15

u/HurryingHeinz LSU Tigers 28d ago

I don’t know what you’re talking about, it’s just the 3rd annual Marcel Reed skinning Blake Baker alive game.

6

u/Outrageous_Picture39 Texas A&M • Sam Houston 28d ago

Bet the house, farm, and kids college funds on A&M losing. This ain’t last year’s team. Both lines are garbage.

1

u/No_Land6966 LSU Tigers 28d ago

For real, that dude cant seem to figure out a running QB

2

u/HurryingHeinz LSU Tigers 28d ago

Won’t be sad if someone hires him tbh

1

u/No_Land6966 LSU Tigers 28d ago

Truly, and may his god bless him bruh lol

1

u/Outrageous_Picture39 Texas A&M • Sam Houston 28d ago

You’re in luck. Some combination of Marcel, the coaches, Marcel’s reps really want him to be a pocket QB this season.

I’ve already told my wife we’re doing something else besides watching LSU push our shit in next week.

12

u/actual_thereij 28d ago

Next week we ride for the Aggies. The Lane Hate Train does not stop.

checks LSU schedule

The hate train will be on break on November 14th because I honestly DGAF who loses between LSU and Texas. furious horns down

3

I hope a meteor hits during that game

yeah...

5

u/dickdastardlee Alabama Crimson Tide 28d ago

Don’t talk like that. That’s the game where you win by 14 and get sucked back in.

5

u/el_es_you LSU Tigers 28d ago

Reed owns Blake Baker. It's going to be another disaster.

4

u/levajack Oregon Ducks 28d ago

Which will make it all the more enjoyable if you win. We'll all be pulling for you.

1

u/blatantninja Texas Longhorns • Slippery Rock The Rock 28d ago

That's a tough ask....

2

Hey, c'mon show your brother some love.

2

u/pwnzorder Texas Longhorns 28d ago

Thats 2 of 4 of your games that I have to root for meteors, earthquakes or hurricanes to somehow cause both teams to lose. Could you stop playing every villian in the CFB so I can properly hate watch you?

2

u/ThrowawayAdvice1800 Alabama Crimson Tide • Sickos 28d ago

If it makes you feel any better Kentucky is weirdly competent this year. It’s like they took Arkansas’ job.

2

u/SpicyDoritos2 Texas A&M Aggies 28d ago

There something about us man. Something deep down that poisons our team. Next week will be a beating

3

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

All things considered, with all the buildup and hoopla and especially how the first half went, I’m as happy you can reasonably be with a loss. There’s no such thing as moral victories, but if we can get through TAMU next week we’ve got a good shot at 10-2 and a playoff appearance.

I always expected 9-3 this year and playoff bubble drama. I was hoping we get this one though. And thought we would honestly all the way up until the 2pt conversion.

Oh well. It is what it is. Players and coaches are all getting paid either way and we’ve all still gotta go to work Monday so. On to next week

-5

u/Double-Mine981 LSU Tigers 28d ago

Nah fuck all that. Ole Miss isn’t that good. Their 6 year QB can’t be fooled by college defenses. He’s good

LSU’s offense has a ton of issues, especially without green. Line sucks. WRs arent special.

This team will get better as the season goes on but it’s very flawed

8

u/kronicle_gaming LSU Tigers 28d ago

Man, I disagree. Ole Miss brought it big time. Their fans brought a crazy atmosphere, and Chambliss is just straight up the best player in football right now. We were down 17 and fought back with the chance to tie it on the road. Hell of a game. Ole Miss, y’all enjoy your win. We’ll see you (hopefully) in the playoffs.

7

u/56473829110 Texas A&M Aggies • Team Chaos 28d ago

49

u/goatgoatlilgoat LSU Tigers 28d ago

Brother we lost to a playoff team by a TD. Calm down

11

u/DoggedDoggystyle Florida Gators 28d ago

Playoff team with Lane. Playoff team without Lane. So Lane=0?

11

u/noletiger LSU Tigers • Florida State Seminoles 28d ago

Perhaps, but gotta be better than Brian Kelly.

I hope.

9

u/Bubba_Gump_Shrimp Ohio State • Notre Dame 28d ago

Well as much as I hate Lane he hasn't killed an AV assistant yet sooooo

3

u/BarbarianDwight Ole Miss Rebels 28d ago

He’s a better coach than BK. Just issues with big games and seems to regularly lose a game a season his team shouldn’t.

0

u/goatgoatlilgoat LSU Tigers 28d ago

Lane and Weiss identified chambliss and Lacy as low rated transfers. Let’s see how Pete does without lanes players before we make that judgment

0

u/DoggedDoggystyle Florida Gators 28d ago

Interesting that Lane did them such a big favor but they didn’t follow him.

5

u/goatgoatlilgoat LSU Tigers 28d ago

They were in the playoffs. You can believe what you want but early on even the ole Miss side was reporting high transfer possibility for chambliss and lacy but they beat IGA and they worked overtime to get them locked in to contracts. They did the same with princewill which is why he’s being sued

-2

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

I mean lane still went and got that quarterback, put together most of that team, hired most of that defensive staff, including the head coach, and that still mostly Lane Kiffin’s offense.

What happens when it’s all Pete’s team? I dunno. But I can’t wait to play them again

1

u/DoggedDoggystyle Florida Gators 28d ago

I’m sorry but there’s no get back after this. This was the emotional early season return to Ole Miss. “next year” the storyline dies down my man. Period. This was the aura loss you gotta eat and move on and try to make the playoffs. Only rematch that would matter is a this-season playoff rematch.

Long-term doesn’t matter. Of course LSU has more resources than Ole Miss, and Lane will skirt the rules to gain every advantage, but this was the one we all knew he threw everything at and he got smacked down like a gnat. GGs. Gotta move on from caring about Ole Miss bc for now you’re little bro and the villain

4

u/JoeWim Indiana Hoosiers 28d ago

In the most hostile and emotional road game environment possible too. Not sure why anyone would be out on LSU after this game. Can’t imagine they drop more than 5 spots for this.

2

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

What’s gonna happen here is LSU is going to go on about their lives, put together a solid (hopefully playoff) season, and continue to get better and become a yearly contender again.

I’m not naive enough to say something stupid like this was OM’s Super Bowl, but they put a lot of eggs in this basket and they better be careful not to fall apart. I want to meet them in the playoffs. (In a worlds where both teams make it)

Because now that you’ve got the big emotional one out of the way, it’s just a game.

5

u/HeppyHenry ULM Warhawks • LSU Tigers 28d ago

Hah. Eggs. Cause it’s Old Miss and they play in the… I’ll see myself out

0

u/the_tax_man_cometh LSU Tigers 28d ago

Because Lane Kiffin lmao. Everyone is getting their kicks in while they can

2

u/StatelyPlump14 28d ago

Lmao he deserves it.

0

u/the_tax_man_cometh LSU Tigers 28d ago

The question wasn’t whether he deserves it. It was if it was the definitive beatdown that will nuke LSU’s season as is being crowed about by some.

We were on the goal line to tie it up

1

u/StatelyPlump14 26d ago

Fair enough, I honestly don’t hate LSU so I feel bad they got Kiffin on their side since it means so many people (including myself) are going to be rooting against them.

1

u/austin_8 Ole Miss Rebels 27d ago

Did you lose to a playoff team though? Our schedule is tough, just because we could beat LSU doesn’t mean we can make it through Florida, Missouri, Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, and State with no more than 2 losses.

1

u/goatgoatlilgoat LSU Tigers 27d ago

Texas and UGA are the only losses I see. That’s not changed after the game either. Preseason I had y’all 9-3 losses to LSU UGA and UT. But we’ll see

1

u/austin_8 Ole Miss Rebels 27d ago

I’ve always been cynical, but we’ve even opened as 2.5 point dogs at Florida and it’s now moved another point to 3.5 points. I agree that in that I’ve got UGA and UT penciled as most likely L’s, I just think we slip up in one of the other games as well to finish around 9-3.

3

u/Mindless_Luck7553 28d ago

Why….? You lost a nail biter to a top ten team with a vengeance. If you think that means you suck then you might be a little spoiled….

3

u/Blupard LSU Tigers • Sam Houston Bearkats 28d ago

Weak sauce bro. That was the wildest that stadium has ever been and we had a chance in the end. It’s Lane’s first year and we’re miles better than last year. Chambliss is just that dude. We’ll be fine.

8

u/Sweet_Baby_Cheesus Texas A&M Aggies • Sickos 28d ago

At least you'll get a win next week to get the taste out of your mouth

3

u/RememberTooSmile Miami Hurricanes 28d ago

Bad day for you based on the flairs lol, followed by them playing each other next week

15

u/NetRealizableValue LSU Tigers 28d ago

Na i’m not worried

Played a great 2nd half, hopefully we fix the 1st

6

u/MoistyestBread LSU Tigers 28d ago

Losing Treydez is more demoralizing than anything. Someone’s going to need to step up.

4

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

It could be argued with treydez we go to OT.

Although it could be argued that with Kewan we never get that close so who knows. Cardiac game either way

1

u/DaggersKnuckles LSU Tigers 28d ago

Honestly their backup RB was still very good. Not as good as Lacy but still I think for them if he’s out it probably won’t be long term and they’ll be fine. Green is just a massive massive loss for us for what I’m assuming is going to be the rest of the season

1

u/MoistyestBread LSU Tigers 28d ago

There were definitely several game situations where you could tell they would normally be drawing a play up to him.

3

u/Legitimate_Lemon_689 Texas A&M Aggies 28d ago

Big chief yall have a bottom feeder SEC team at home next week

2

u/Neon-Night-Riders LSU Tigers • Baylor Bears 28d ago

Nah dog, both teams played lights out. Helluva game (besides the offsides)

2

u/PrimaryNotebook 関西学院大学 (Kwansei Gakuin) • Victory… 28d ago

Yeah, Leavitt is hot garbage. He gave us a preview of that last week and delivered on it this week.

We’re gonna be taking lumps all year. Just gonna have to take the clowning and move on

1

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

If he’s really that ass Clark will be starting before long. One thing he definitely is is streaky though.

His fuckin head fake is starting to piss me off though.

2

u/DaggersKnuckles LSU Tigers 28d ago

Losing Trey’Dez fucking sucks man. This is gonna be a rough rest of the year

2

u/Poverty_Shoes /r/CFB 28d ago

Considering you get Texas and Bama at home, this may have been the hardest game all year. I could still see LSU going 10-2. They’ll slip up somewhere, but look like a very good team to me.

1

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

I still hope 9-3 is the floor but I like our chances for a bounce back against TAMU at home and I think we split Texas/Bama and hopefully land 10-2.

But we could also go 8-4. Who even knows? That’s why I love CFB

3

u/JoshHuff1332 LSU Tigers • ULM Warhawks 28d ago

This was a game between two teams that are playoff contenders and potentially deep ones at that. We'll be fine

1

u/onthacountray58 LSU Tigers • College Football Playoff 28d ago

I just hope we both make the playoffs and play again. Preferably in Tiger Stadium in the first round.

1

u/AwareEconomics4177 LSU Tigers 28d ago

Shoulda kept the 5 mil from Leavitt and invested elsewhere

1

u/CptnNinja Texas Longhorns • Swansea Titans 28d ago

I don't care what happened tonight, I'm still scared to go into death valley in November lol

1

u/convicted-mellon Texas A&M Aggies 28d ago

Bro look forward to next week, you’ll be fine. Just what the doctor ordered for you easy bounce back

1

u/Huge-Internal6456 Oklahoma • Tennessee State 28d ago

Y’all will be fine. That was a good game on the road in a super hostile environment.  We survived New Mexico. It could be so much worse.

1

u/cephalopod11 Tennessee Volunteers 28d ago

Can't wait for hate watch v2 for us against y'all.

1

u/Axpp Texas Longhorns • USC Trojans 28d ago

College teams playing away games against top 10 teams is extremely difficult. Throw in the Lane context and atmosphere and im honestly impressed LSU came back.

1

u/highgravityday2121 Penn State • UConn 28d ago

You guys are solid team. Youll be fine.

1

u/DoctorPhalanx73 Magnolia Bowl • Ole Miss Rebels 28d ago

I will be watching and rooting for your downfall with gusto

1

u/kyrev21 Kentucky Wildcats 28d ago

Over/under how many games until Lane is on the hot seat?

4

u/guardian20015 Ole Miss Rebels 28d ago

If they go like 6-6 or less, LSU is going to be wondering what the fuck they just paid for. I don’t see that happening, but that’s definitely what it would take.

2

u/noletiger LSU Tigers • Florida State Seminoles 28d ago

Fan criticism will be vocal at 3 losses, widespread at 4, and overwhelming at 5. That's just historically who we are as a fanbase and honestly what the apparent cost of this roster should warrant.

Not that the seat will actually be hot from a job security standpoint, I doubt we can afford to fire him for several years.

1

u/the_tax_man_cometh LSU Tigers 28d ago

Are you asking that as a real question?

1

u/PureFormal9261 28d ago

Your not a real fan
