Penn State being ranked 13 after beating cupcake teams. To then lose back to back conference games to unranked opponents is the definition of why preseason rankings shouldn't exist.

Wait till week 4. Fuck it, ESPN could even make a whole release show about it. Like they do the playoffs. I'm over preseason rankings.

Sure but then Fox would come in with their BIG NOON EARLY RANKINGS and then that’d become the de facto ranking system until the week 4 release happens, just like how we follow the AP poll until the CFP rankings come out.

If anything I’d think everyone should be happier with the early rankings this year - they’ve shown they’re not afraid to slam teams way down (Michigan after WMU, us after Wiscy)
