As a Dawgs fan, Bama got robbed on that PI no-call. But also their offensive line was holding all night, most notably their center in the first TD play, and it wasn't called. A good game ruined by all around bad refereeing.

Actual correct take. The refs were just bad and inconsistent for both teams.

Would have been cool for the broadcast to mention that holding at least once...

Can’t mention anything bad for Bama

Nope. There’s a Saban doc to peddle.

WSB is going to get A LOT of angry calls. I understand they’re trying to help by telling people to get to shelter but my God there are way better ways to communicate it that aren’t putting that girl up there to give live play by play for 20 minutes

Fair, but also the gloss over from the commentators of the targeting no call was some real “don’t bite the hand that feeds us” shit. Say what you want about that play and who hit who first, but the player went in helmet down and if they are really concerned about player safety, that is targeting every time.

It was insane - they replayed it from multiple angles and the OL was damn near giving him the Mankind Mr Socko from every single angle

And not one word was uttered - the commentary tonight was so biased towards Bama it was berserk

Gotta get eyeballs on that Saban doc - a W would have helped

Genuinely terrible broadcast to listen to

“We’d like to take this free second to remind you of all the times Bama won in this series and never show anything from the literal last time they played.”

11

u/DrVonD Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

They EASILY could have used Ringos INT in that good hands segment.

6

u/B-Train_ATL Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

When they were doing a big plays montage, I THINK THE RINGO PICK WAS A BIG PLAY.

You don’t know what holding is “In football, the NCAA holding "rip logic" refers to the official rule exception where offensive holding is not called if a defensive player uses a "rip" technique. When a defensive pass rusher ducks under an offensive lineman and "rips" their arm upward to gain leverage, the motion naturally forces the offensive lineman's arm around the defender's neck or shoulders.”

I KNEW I WASN’T TWEAKING. SOMEONE SAID IT!

Not only was bama holding, a couple of the holding calls on UGA were EGREGIOUSLY soft calls. I’m pretty sure one of the ones on a TE wasn’t even holding, he just blocked a dude so hard the ref assumed he was held.

19

u/Hobo_Delta Georgia Bulldogs • Kentucky Wildcats 6d ago

If they didn’t call those on Bama, what UGA did were half holds at best

8

u/OldViolinist2306 6d ago

As a Badger fan, I thought if anything the refs were favoring bama, especially with offensive line holds. The one bama TD was a blatant holding and the defensive lineman even had his arms up in the air like WTF.

u/randomthrowaway9796 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Yeah, I hate that all that people will remember from this game is that BS no call. So many no calls on them all night too, I was pissed at the refs all night. Idk what the solution is, but the NCAA, SEC, or whoever has power needs to do something about these refs if they want people to continue caring about this sport.

u/weliketohave_funhere Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Right? If a no-call was the “play of the game,” why not the no call that ended in a touchdown??

15

u/Fearless_Cut_4075 6d ago

Bama was holding all game

When I can see a hold, it’s egregious. That one was ridiculous, and they kept showing it on replay without mentioning it.

2

u/jefftopgun 6d ago

Thats how I feel! Turns out I started noticing more when I got a bigger TV a few years back. They all hold, every play, almost every lineman. I think they really wait to see if it affects the play before they throw the flag (which is not the right answer).

Full disclosure, an Alabama fan here. Georgia played their hearts out. With rb1/rb2 and wow apparently rb3 and rb4, they are definitely in contention for #1 team in the country. But I think AL is a couple refinements away from the same #1 spot. I hope they come angry for the rest of the year.

Bama got Bama'd. At home. 😁

RCW set two illegal picks in the first half as well, one on that huge play before the first TD.

u/ApexYenzy Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Uncatchable

1

u/deerhuntingdude 6d ago

Also the no call facemask

-1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Missed personal foul near the end too on top of a ton of other inconsistent garbage. This officiating crew shouldn’t be calling FBS games

0

u/DoomVolant 6d ago

One of the fourth quarter runs yalls lineman wrapped up the safety to spring it if you want to talk about egregious holds that weren’t called

1

u/bigggieee Alabama Crimson Tide • Sickos 6d ago

u/importantbrian Boston University • Alabama 6d ago

They could have called Georgia for holding on every play if they wanted to. Complaining about holding is the lamest thing fans do.

8

u/zoomanatl Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Not all holds are created equal. On that first TD, the center practically had the DT in a choke hold.

4

u/importantbrian Boston University • Alabama 6d ago

This is why it's so often lame. Fans don't know what holding actually is. If a defensive linemen does a rip move, which is what happened on that play the offensive linemen is allowed to stay engaged on the block. It's called the rip move exception, and if it didn't exist d-linemen would just rip every single play and always draw a flag.

-1

u/zoomanatl Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

That's an NFL rule

3

u/importantbrian Boston University • Alabama 6d ago

It's called exactly the same way in college.

u/Sea_Speaker_9047 6d ago

Damn straight

-1

u/redditgolddigg3r Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Thank you! 5 or 6 holding calls on our DL, and zero against them. Unreal.
