What an absolute war. Props to UGA. I'll never say the zebras cost a team the game, but it sucks when their incompetence makes them as much of a story as the actual plays. UGA got some great breaks in this game, put the ball on the deck so many times but kept possession of it.

I cant say anything bad about Bama's effort. Keelon was definitely nervey early on, but he settled into a groove. It takes games like this to forge a great qb. We knew the defense was susceptible to big plays coming into this game and unfortunately that held true.

Really hate to have to turn around and go to Rocky Top now with such a banged up squad. Hopefully we rally and dont let the loss overwhelm us.

That was 100% a DPI not called. Both teams played a tough game and it sucks it wasn't decided by us. But also GO DAWGS

9

u/BuckeyeBass 6d ago

Got away with DPI but he could have just picked it off.

7

u/Krob8788 Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago edited 6d ago

Yeah…it’s literally DPI because he didn’t try to pick it off lol. That’s usually part of the call

2

u/BuckeyeBass 6d ago

My point was he was a moron and didn’t play the ball

2

u/Krob8788 Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

Oh word

21

u/easymoneysniper223 Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

Yea but we can't say it because it look like sour grapes. Damn good game by both teams tho, I always respect UGA. I just hate y'all when we play 😂

8

u/Leading-Reporter5586 Nebraska • Ohio State 6d ago

Nah. No sour grapes. I think 99% of the viewers can safely say that was an uncalled DPI. Yeah that was a game that could have still gone either way if it was called but it should have been called.

u/CaptainCrafty Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

I mean all bama fans do and have is excuses in the form of penalties or injures

4

u/str8bint /r/CFB 6d ago

We are literally telling you good game bro sucks the zebras are a part of the headlines because it was a good, hard fought game by both side that could have gone either way. Take your congratulations and your win and stop bitching. Hope we see yall again down the road.

Loser

-17

u/CaptainCrafty Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

You sure about that?

10

u/Pretty_Show_5112 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Yes

4

u/Jerco7 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Listen, as a UGA fan living in Alabama, I get you. But learn to read the room and dont be a bad winner

-1

u/RSN_Kabutops Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

Okay?

Tyler Simmons was onside. Literally cost Kirby their first national championship.

That was not a catch a few years ago on 4th down in the SECCG.

There were 2 really egregious holds on both of their touchdowns tonight. Refs are gonna miss calls sometimes, and quite frankly we were due one against them (and this is by far the least consequential game between these teams in a very long time)

-25

u/Randlepinkfloyd1986 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

They’ve gotten so many calls in recent times going back to 17 so I don’t feel bad for them, but it for certain was DPI

97

u/klu16 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

This is such a balanced take. Props.

Keelon is gonna ball for a couple more years and give UGA fits. Those were two evenly matched teams on both a sides of the ball. We’ll probably see each other again this season.

21

u/np307 Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

Its really even possible we see each other twice more this season. I dont know if I can handle that

8

u/Bulldogs3144 Georgia Bulldogs • Texas A&M Aggies 7d ago

I know I can’t. I think I’ll go hide in the woods during those games.

5

u/AlphaBravo95 Alabama • North Alabama 7d ago

I really hope that doesn’t happen unless it’s in the national championship and it’s inevitable. It’s kinda annoying having to play the same elite teams over and over. And let’s be real.. it’s really tough beating either one of our coaches twice in the same season, let alone 3 times. Like if the cfp is all about ratings then let’s watch yall smash Miami and bama smash notre dame 🙄

-1

u/Scary-Age-8614 7d ago

Glad Miami can help 👍

6

u/AlphaBravo95 Alabama • North Alabama 7d ago

Why are you out in public with no flair on?

1

u/Frosty_Captain_8928 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

No thank you. Feel pretty comfortable asserting rematches never work for the regular season winner. Russell gonna be some unholy mix of Peyton and Lamar by year end

10

u/the_D1CKENS Alabama • Jacksonville State 7d ago

Aside from the flag that got picked up, this was a great game. If Bama doesn't win it, I hope UGA does. GG Dawgs

7

u/KetchupKing05 Georgia • Jacksonville State 7d ago

For what it’s worth, anyone with half a brain can tell that both of these are Top 5 teams, arguably Top 3.

Still a lot of season left to go, but I firmly believe that the national champ will be one of UGA, Bama, OSU, and the winner of the ND/Miami game

7

u/the_D1CKENS Alabama • Jacksonville State 7d ago

I'll believe ND can do it when I see it.

2

u/Frosty_Captain_8928 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

Top 3 and neither team is #3

1

u/SquishTheProgrammer Georgia Bulldogs • West Georgia Wolves 7d ago

Hard agree with this. I was at a party tonight with a bunch of Alabama and Georgia people and we were saying the same exact thing.

3

u/beartato327 Georgia Bulldogs • Nebraska Cornhuskers 7d ago

Right I came into the mind set this is probably the SECCG now that Texas lost, and we might play a third in the CFP it's going to be a blood bath everytime

u/chairman_of_thebored Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

He seems like a good kid too. He waited around after the game to congratulate Gunner.

You guys really don’t need to worry about us.

Shut the fuck up. Bama Hate Week just started.

8

u/Ok_Plankton_8229 Tennessee Volunteers 7d ago

I don’t give a damn about the whole state of Alabama, but I also watched that shitshow in Fayetteville today.

2

SEC road win is an SEC road win, brother. On to TSIO.

It’s bama hate week every week even in the offseason. Gotta say tho we aren’t nothing to worry about. I’ll be surprised if we get em 🤣

Yall some low down, dirty, snitches.

Oh I think its safe to say theyre well hated. But were not doing it this year, unless this week of practice works miracles.

1

u/hiiightide Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

Next week is gonna be real ugly for yall

2

u/randomthrowaway9796 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

You took Texas to the limit, and Arkansas is always a weird game for Tennessee. I don't predict yall will beat bama, but you definitely have a shot!

1

u/np307 Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

I'd like to think so but nothings for sure when I look at all the chaos that happened today.

1

u/B-Train_ATL Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

Vols gonna be scared until they realize it isn’t Arkansas again.

Keelon Russell is an absolute baller, and I do not look forward to facing him as he gets better

3

u/Prudent-Thought7750 UAB Blazers • Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

I have some to say about the defensive effort. Everyone wants to point to Dijon Lee but 6 yards a carry and that 3rd down defense is not good.

1

u/np307 Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

3rd down defense was definitely a problem. Maybe I'm misremembering but it seemed like the run game didnt really take off until they opened our secondary up and made us change coverage.

1

u/WhoHasMyPocketPussy Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

To be fair, at least four of those just from quick recall memory went Dijon’s way.

3

u/The_Sarah_Palin_ Tennessee • ETSU 7d ago

I don’t think you’ll have any issues getting a dub in Knoxville

3

u/dawgfan980 Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

35 yr dawg and graduate. That was PI.

5

u/mbdtf9 Alabama Crimson Tide • Missouri Tigers 7d ago

100% agree. It was such an awesome game, both teams played very well, and I was prepared to accept a loss due to a combination of Keelon’s early struggles, crucial third down conversions, and Georgia catching a few breaks on retaining possession after fumbles. But then the ref’s had to rob both Alabama and Georgia of the satisfaction of a great hard-fought game. To me it’s not that Alabama was robbed of a win, it’s that we were all robbed of a classic ending to a great game.

2

u/MrWilsonAndMrHeath Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

Well said.

3

u/Snoissess Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

That’s a damn stellar attitude that I strive to have myself. Good game and good luck to your team. I hope to see you guys again so this can get settled, because I just watched two stout teams go at it. Sorry the refs messed up the show this time.

4

u/bobjohndaviddick Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

The only crime is changing the call. Could go either way. But changing the initial call is crazy.

1

u/hiiightide Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

In what world could that call go either way

-2

u/bobjohndaviddick Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

I mean clearly I’m not the only one who thought there was a case for no flag considering they pulled the flag.

1

u/hiiightide Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

Lol what is the case?

0

u/bobjohndaviddick Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

Looked like he was playing the ball which looked uncatchable

1

u/hiiightide Alabama Crimson Tide 6d ago

Uncatchable when it hit the receiver’s knee? Huh? I’m looking at the replay now and the defender wasn’t even facing the ball, and shoved Scott in the chest before the ball got there. I really am not sure what you’re talking about

0

u/bobjohndaviddick Georgia Bulldogs 6d ago

I was surprised to see the ball be thrown low and on the other side of the defender. I guess if the defender had moved out of the way maybe he could’ve scooped it up from his knee but idk, Russell was having accuracy issues all night. The rematch is going to be a classic.

2

u/drnebel Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

You guys will destroy Tennessee

2

u/HonkHonkBeach Tennessee Volunteers 7d ago

Our defense may hold them to a low scoring game, but our offense is going to absolutely get shredded like paper so who knows what well score. Its a bleak feeling season for us despite being 5-1 right now.

2

u/WinterAsleep319 7d ago

Can’t win if you don’t get stops on third down. So so many third down conversion

2

u/kingoflint282 Georgia Bulldogs • SEC 7d ago

That was the story for us last year, just couldn’t get a stop on third

1

u/np307 Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

For sure. Doesn't help when they figure out theres one corner they can reliably pick on.

1

u/WinterAsleep319 6d ago

Lee got benched for a possession and we stopped them. Then he came back and ruined it

1

u/Oblivionguard19 Georgia Bulldogs • Sickos 7d ago

GGs to yall despite the ending. Based on what im seeing from the rest of the conference, im sure we’ll meet once again anyway

1

u/ewgrooss Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

UGA got extremely lucky the turnover bug didn’t bite them hard tonight. Tack on the insane missed PI and Im leaving tonight feeling like the game was a draw. With the way we’re developing from week to week I feel really good about this team. Hopefully they learn from tonight and use it as a springboard for the rest of the season. Next up is Tennessee and we are going to take belt to ass for the next 4 quarters.

1

u/alexpmarty Tennessee • Middle Tennessee 7d ago

You need to move of from DeBoer if you don’t beat this pathetic Tennessee team by 1000

1

u/TurbulentArcher3190 7d ago

Injury is my biggest concern.  Just saw our center got injured late

1

u/thebaddadgames Indiana Hoosiers 6d ago

Next years Bama squad bothers me, and I say this as a person that was so overjoyed to put Bama fans in their place in the IU/Bama game.

1

u/Inconceivable76 Ohio State • Arizona State 6d ago

Tennessee is bad, so there’s that.

1

u/buckster_007 6d ago

Not a fan of either team... those zebras most definitely cost Bama a chance at winning. Overturning the interception (which, I don't care what anyone believes, there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call) and not calling a pass interference when the receiver got blown up. Those are both egregious calls. In a tight game like that with both teams evenly matched, calls like that can be the difference.

1

u/SurveyWaste8808 6d ago

It was not a great through.

1

u/Coastal1363 6d ago

Bama fan here .It was a great game .Im proud of the way Bama played and Georgia is the best team in the country right now .But Bama proved they could play with the best .

Georgia still may have won but that was a horrible missed PI call…

1

u/Main-Championship822 Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

Honestly I think yall beat Tennessee by 20+. After this win im comfortably saying we are #1 team in nation. If yall played us this close... transitive property says yall are #2.

1

u/dripwhoosplash Georgia Bulldogs • Okefenokee Oar 7d ago

Dude I think yall come out firing and win like 38-3

1

u/TheCudder Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

Gunner Stockton & their offense was unstoppable on 3rd down, even when Bama played it extremely well. I'll give him his props, but I'm not ashamed to say that UGA had multiple massive bail outs on the defensive side of the ball...MASSIVE.

That's a loser's attitude. Bama had plenty of things within our control to affect the outcome of the game and we didnt do our job.

0

u/UGALOLOL Georgia Bulldogs • New Mexico Lobos 7d ago

No becasue IF you had scored off that PI UGA would've marched down and won

1

u/MrLeftwardSloping Indiana Hoosiers • Missouri Tigers 7d ago

Too bad the players didn't get to decide

-1

u/KatetCadet Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

And we’ll never know huh, the refs decided to not let us know what should have happened.

They stole the game that should have been from both of us.

3

u/Firedancer0713 7d ago

What we do know is there were blatant holds all game.

-1

u/the_D1CKENS Alabama • Jacksonville State 7d ago

..and if they called every hold we'd never get to see a game

-7

u/laxfool10 Miami Hurricanes 7d ago

I think Bam wins that game 9/10 times. Just so many bad breaks that all went georgias way. If one of them went Bamas way they would have won.

3

u/SouthsideAtlanta 7d ago

True. But that’s how every one of these games has been since 2017. Sucks the refs can’t be perfect but hopefully it all washes out

-9

u/Bozo_McGee Alabama Crimson Tide 7d ago

I’ll say it. Zebras gave Georgia the win.

0

u/dawgfanjeff 7d ago

Yes...Georgia fans will never forget the Tyler Simmons call. Ever.

-1

u/FuckYouAndYourTeam Georgia Bulldogs 7d ago

Taking my Georgia hat off, refereeing was questionable both ways, and in a one score game that's frustrating as a die-hard or as a third party general fan of sports. Not the worst reffing I've ever seen but not great.

-1

u/shliknik 7d ago

It absolutely was a blown PI no-call. But for once, it's nice for UGA to have some luck in a games vs AL. We've played much better in prior games the last few years but still came away with a loss.

There's no doubt these are the best two teams in the country which is par for the course when UGA and AL play.

GO DAWGS!

-1

u/chuckcrys 6d ago

My god a rational AL fan take, this is wild. These are rare.
