Just needed to put in the walk on QB, fourth string QB to lock down the season.

u/hillbilly_bears Memphis Tigers 19h ago
Stokes played like I do when I get stupid and put CFB 26 on Heisman difficulty.

Stokes looked lost there, might explain a few things during the game
4
5
u/XrayGuy08 Georgia Bulldogs • UCF Knights 19h ago
Hahahahahahahah. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. That certainly was fitting.
How the fuck do you sit there and wait until you’re getting hit to just throw it right to the defense? I mean, fuck. I might legitimately have been able to turn the ball over less tonight if I was playing QB for Memphis.

u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State • New Mexico 19h ago
6 turnovers plus 2 turnovers on downs for Memphis. 8 losses of possession is not how you win a game.

That interception was the third straight middle finger this game from Tulane to Memphis in the past 2 mins lmao

The end of the first half implosion needs to be studied. 18 points in under 4 minutes
1
u/Tornadohunter24 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets • Team Chaos 19h ago
Stokes might be the least accurate QB I've ever seen

u/Gmatter41 LSU Tigers • McNeese Cowboys 19h ago
Stokes about to pop champagne in Tulanes locker room

Surely he gets benched for next game right??

it’s painful, but you can’t overreact like that over one game. just can’t

I’m not an expert but from this game it looks like Fritz left Tulane in pretty good shape.
Defensively in particular.
2
u/BrennyIsHere LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 19h ago
This is the worst season we've had since Fritz, Sumrall was amazing, Hall is still so.... eh, I don't think he's a good coach, but he won this one so who knows.
6
u/Geauxwave17 LSU Tigers • Tulane Green Wave 19h ago edited 19h ago
Fritz to Sumrall was probably the best back to back coaching hires in program history. That said, I don’t think any of these guys are Fritz’s boys at this point since Sumrall was here after him.
13
u/WillWork4SunDrop Alabama • Kennesaw State 19h ago
“Maybe questioned the hire.”
They were chanting to fire him in the first half. You can drop the maybe.

Tulane and UTSA might be a trap game for the RoadRunners
2

At this point every game going forward is a trap game for us, looks like we control our destiny after tonight

Really stupid decision making even though Tulane should still gets the win
5
u/originalusername4567 Kansas Jayhawks 19h ago
The game is over if that one Tulane RB just takes a knee. Now not only has he given Memphis a chance to come back but one of his teammates on defense got severely injured.
1
u/Hornstar19 Tulane Green Wave 19h ago
We just wanted one more chance to dunk on Memphis on defense.

If these teams traded QBs tonight Memphis would have won by 28 points. Not that Trace Johnson played incredible but he was in control and didn’t shit the bed.

Fitting end. Hopefully never have to watch another Memphis game again. Was forced to tonight because the baseball game got rained out lol

I understand taking the points but it would have been nice for Tulane to win with only points scored in the second quarter.

Stokes is so bad. How is Memphis 5-1
1
u/waaaaaasuuuuup Florida State Seminoles • Sickos 19h ago
Coming in he had 1500 yards, 16 tds, and 3 INTs. He just doubled his INT total for the season.

Negative; if you’re being facetious, that would be one Ellis Johnson (launch him into the surface of the sun). If you’re being literal, that would be Bobby Collins

there we go Tulane and damn that receiver wanted the two feet inbounds for the NFL prospect tape(yes, he probably isn't an NFL prospect, but still, show that you can get both in)
2
u/Hornstar19 Tulane Green Wave 19h ago
He may be. Was a high 4 star LSU recruit out of high school. Has put some good tape out there this year with bad QB play.
1
u/therealtoddmcshay California Golden Bears 19h ago
oh shit, really?
Damn, rooting for him to make it then. He had the presence of mind to put both in and knew where he was. Also, it was a great turn to catch it. Looked a lot like an NFL catch

It really wasn’t. He was stopped behind the line. Memphis just sucked ass at tackling.

I'm just happy when they successfully bait the defense on a QB sneak only to do a proper outside run.
1

It was a ballsy call and it worked out beautifully for them. Memphis didn’t deserve to win this game anyways. Good for Tulane.

lol “close to the sticks”. I mean yeah, technically true, he’s just close to the stick that represented the initial 1st and 10
Not a huge win
1
u/therealtoddmcshay California Golden Bears 19h ago
Don't think it was Bruno, but earlier on, the Tulane QB went to the outside again instead of running straight ahead
Cost them a few amount of yards both times, though last time they ended up getting the first down

IF it actually happens, this is such a typical Memphis loss though. Doesn't matter who the coach is, they WILL find a way to lose to a team that's under .500 as the conference favorite.
3
u/hillbilly_bears Memphis Tigers 19h ago
You can always count on at least one awful Memphis loss per season that we shouldn’t lose.

How about defending AAC champions. How about 7 point underdogs at home. How about talented. How about loving and respectful. We lost to Army a week ago. 22-2 in conference before that.
