News [Pete Thamel] Per sources, the amount Fox is expected to get back for the cancellation of the Big Ten title game, which it owns the television rights to, is estimated in the $50 million range annually.

The current media rights deal lasts through the 2029-30 school year. If the 24 team playoff starts next year and the B1G conference championship is canceled, then that would be 3 years.

Edit: Currently Fox owns the broadcasts right to the game in 2027 and 2029, while CBS owns the 2028 game. It's possible the B1G could owe Fox for only 2 years, but they'll probably also owe CBS for that 1 year a similar amount.

$150M is a drop in the bucket compared to what will be made

Why do people think Duke-North Texas #16-#17 will do even as well as a midtier bowl? There is nothing to gain. The juice has already been squeezed. The worst part about this after the pure greed is that it's stupid and it won't work in the short term let alone long.

Duke - North Texas #16/17 game is must watch. One of those teams might be crowned king.
