Good game OSU. Disappointing final play but really proud of our defense.

Both defenses put on a masterclass and made each others offenses look stupid

Or did the offenses put on a disasterclass and make the defenses look good?

u/tOSUBUCKEYES_ Ohio State Buckeyes 7h ago

QB’s were really, really bad today. Both missed a lot of throws and made mistakes.

So I’d say offensive disasterclass

u/Fritzkreig Indiana Hoosiers 6h ago

This is tru, I hope Justin is fine!

4

u/Erniecrack Ohio State • Summertime Lover 7h ago

Yeah both qbs missed wide open Td that weren’t really hard throws

4

u/pikajewijewsyou USC Trojans 7h ago

They looked like hall of famers after watching some of those Arch Manning drives

9

u/Not_Pablo_Sanchez Ohio State Buckeyes 6h ago

A little bit of both honestly. Defenses looked great. Some of the skill players on offense played well. But man, Sayin and Hoover were in a battle to see who could throw the most inaccurate ball and who could miss the most open receiver. So many wide open guys missed between the two. I think Sayin won that battle though. Dude looked like he had the yips all first half

2

u/RayWhelans Ohio State Buckeyes 7h ago

This is more how I feel. Both QBs missed a lot of wide open guys.

u/inqte1 7h ago

Ive seen so many OSU fans impressed with their defense (run defense, yes) but all I saw was Hoover have all day to throw, especially when they didnt blitz, and just missing wide open receivers. Sayin was under more pressure but he missed a lot of throws as well.

It was the same as last year where both defenses look amazing and sometimes there’s not much either offense can do

u/pasqua3 Notre Dame • Ohio State 7h ago

Brother the defenses looked good because both QBs couldn't hit a barn. The secondary wasn't making Julian overthrow WRs by 15 feet. The DLs were disruptive for sure but again neither O line could generate anything resembling a push or protection.

Our CBs were getting torched all day. I wouldnt call it a masterclass. But we do have some young studs (simmons, pettijohn), that are gonna be fun to watch going forward.

The qbs were bad though

u/dasuave Arkansas • James Madison 7h ago

Receivers on both teams (more so Indiana with Becker) were running wide open. Hoover and Sayin were having an ass off missing them over the top.

Ohio state then needs to have a backup for two drives and it looked like that kid couldn’t play.

GG. I have no idea what teams are good this year

Georgia. That is all I know right now

6

u/Tomallenisthegoat Indiana Hoosiers 7h ago

Same situation it was neck and neck between them and Bama

5

u/ViagraOnAPole Indiana Hoosiers • Team Chaos 7h ago

Probably Miami too. Probably.

7

u/Sir_Phillip Ohio State • Vanderbilt 6h ago

No one will really know if Miami and ND are legit until the playoffs. ND will blow out BYU today then Miami and ND will be the only benchmarks for each other.

2

u/inqte1 7h ago

Alabama was good too. There was some dodgy decisions that could have flipped that game. The level of play was pretty high in that game I thought.

1

u/GimlionTheHunter 5h ago

Georgia and Bama both losing going into the half. Bama at least losing to a good Tennessee, Auburn probably better than their record after the Florida win earlier, though, too.

2

u/SimilarOnion1655 Ohio State Buckeyes • Kansas Jayhawks 5h ago

No one is great this year

6

u/Tommy05Sox Iowa Hawkeyes • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7h ago

Georgia, Miami, and ND (we'll see tonight though). I think if Sayin is okay Ohio State can still beat anybody.

-8

u/billbill17 Ohio State Buckeyes 7h ago

You didn’t just say notre dame bro lmao 0 ranked wins 😭

5

u/Tommy05Sox Iowa Hawkeyes • Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7h ago

Wisconsin is beating UCLA tonight and will be ranked.

-7

u/billbill17 Ohio State Buckeyes 6h ago

Didn’t even make a bowl game last year lmao

1

u/ar_threethousand Notre Dame • Indiana 6h ago

Let’s pay attention to what teams finish the season ranked, like normal competent adults do. You know that’s what matters.

OSUs loss to an unranked Texas would look real bad if you ask me

2

u/BigThistyBeast Indiana Hoosiers 5h ago

Welcome to the new era of college football. No teams are complete all 3 phases for 4 quarters anymore

-9

u/supercool9483 7h ago

Not IU this year

3

u/fire_water_drowned Indiana • Notre Dame 5h ago

no flair, opinion disgregarded

82

u/FrostTroll69 Ohio State Buckeyes 7h ago

Yeah, nobody won today

4

u/Arkehn Team Chaos • Paper Bag 7h ago

Florida did

1

u/FloatCopper Indiana • Michigan Tech 6h ago

I hurt on the loss.

But, I upvoted after my LOL

8

u/BensenJensen Ohio State Buckeyes • Army Black Knights 7h ago

Very good game. Happy we won, obviously, but Indiana’s defense was very impressive. Indiana broke Sayin’s will last year and broke his arm this year.

Not even joking but Josh Hoover 100% lost this game by himself. If he didn't play like a blind man, we would have won

But then again if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a bike

98

u/Pulsar-GB Ohio State • Rutgers 7h ago

This game was Julian Sayin and Josh Hoover repeatedly trying to give the game to the other team

6

u/AccordianPropaganda Ohio State Buckeyes 7h ago

I can't even entirely blame Sayin. Our O Line is fucking DISASTROUS and it's been this way year in and out.

2

u/titusnick270 Ohio State Buckeyes 1h ago

I didn’t think they were that bad today. Sayin needs to step up in the pocket get rid of the ball quicker imo.

1

u/slapdashbr Occidental Tigers • Ohio State Buckeyes 3h ago

you call that an overthrow? I'll show you an overthrow! yeets it 20ft over the wr

31

u/wit_T_user_name Ohio State Buckeyes • Ohio Bobcats 7h ago

Mendoza beats us by two scores easy in that.

3

u/Fritzkreig Indiana Hoosiers 6h ago

I miss post game Mendoza "Glory to God!"

2

u/wit_T_user_name Ohio State Buckeyes • Ohio Bobcats 6h ago

Based on that ending, they’ve both left you.

8

u/ThisIsOurGoodTimes Ohio State • Ohio Northern 7h ago

I mean could say the same about sayin. Feel like it’s worth just saying both defenses played great

3

u/BelowAverageJoe11 Ohio State • Cincinnati 7h ago

You could probably say the same about Sayin though too. They both were on the struggle bus

3

u/almondania Georgia Bulldogs • Indiana Hoosiers 7h ago

The amount of airmailed balls was ridiculous

1

u/beragis 3h ago

I was wondering if there was some strange winds in the stadium

3

u/Skidda24 Ohio State Buckeyes • Illibuck 7h ago

Him and Sayin both. Sayin had guys wide open and just whiffed. There were also several missed reads by Hoover.

It's hard to judge though because it's probably the best defenses both teams will face all year

2

u/Imma_P0tato Ohio State Buckeyes • Ohio Bobcats 6h ago

Had OSU lost, I would have said the same thing about Sayin.

3

u/Ickyhouse Ohio State Buckeyes • Walsh Cavaliers 6h ago

As bad as Hoover was, he outplayed Sayin

3

u/kd451 Team Chaos • Team Meteor 7h ago

Nah, Radicic sold

5

u/No_Preparation2766 USC Trojans • Indiana Hoosiers 7h ago

Tbf to Radicic, he shouldn't have even been in those situations if Hoover made his wide open passes

1

u/beragis 3h ago

I am an OSU fan, and I was cringing every play after his injury. You could see he was in pain but still going through. As a Browns fan I was starting to get flashbacks to Baker Mayfield playing injured rather than rest.

I like that we won, but don’t like we won playing against a QB who shouldn’t have been playing towards the end.

Makes me wonder about the QB depth of both teams

5

u/CpowOfficial Washington • Tennessee 7h ago

More impressed by Indiana in this game than any other so far this year. Didn't think they were frauds by any means but I think they can repeat after this brutal loss.

2

u/Skidda24 Ohio State Buckeyes • Illibuck 7h ago

Both our QBs were under 50% passing at some point. Proud of our O-line too.

Unfortunately and fortunately, if we both win out we probably meet in the title game

2

u/Abefroman12 Ohio State Buckeyes • Tulane Green Wave 6h ago

You should absolutely be proud of your defense. They made both of our QBs scared and error prone

1

u/chriskug Indiana Hoosiers 6h ago

Our secondary were much more sticky today and we’re looking to make plays on the ball, feeling better overall from what I’ve seen the first few weeks.
