We didn't lose many close ones before Cignetti either, we usually just got blown out.

I only ever watched our games or Michigan versus you until it was out of hand and that's pretty much what it seemed like.  Cig has to be the best coach in football at any level and I can't figure out why he didn't break out until this late in his career.

Leaving Bama to take a D2 job set him back. Granted, he was already kind of pegged as a position coach, but D2 guys don't get picked up as fast.

Agreed. See Jim Tressel.

Well the cream finally rose to the top. Never thought I'd be happy for Day to be 2-1 against an IU coach.

I have to admit I rarely watched our games vs OSU before Cig. Sometimes I would watch the first quarter, and once I got multiview from YTTV I would keep it on in the corner. But usually we would be down 21-0 by the end of the first quarter it seemed like.

I think that sentiment was shared by a lot of your fan base given how few even showed up to the games. I wouldn't blame you. If my school was putting that level of execution on the field I'd do something better with my Saturday or just watch other games.  It's a different world now, though.

Now that's funny. True but funny. And with a national championship under our belt, something we can laugh at now
