Not to overreact, be if we are just able to play the Citadel every week till late November we might be a fringe playoff team.

Basically what you did last year

u/Ok_Requirement_8133 Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago
If I recall, wasn’t that the year you beat one good team and then lost to unranked Texas? The 2025 Aggies basically had the same season as the 2025 Sooners.

We have as many wins as texas now lol.
I’m going to enjoy this victory, this legit is probably our final win of the season.

u/OleRockTheGoodAg Texas A&M Aggies 2h ago
texas is also a miracle Ryan Day assisted comeback away from having the same amount of losses too.

I don’t wanna hear “Hart isn’t any better” anymore
The only thing this game showed is that we do not know that is true. Hart made multiple throws better than anything I have seen from Reed in a long time. No world in which Reed should be unbenchable.

u/Disarmer Texas A&M Aggies 2h ago
Hart made multiple throws today that are better than any single throw Reed has made all year

You can argue that with your eyes, but the stats and metrics don’t agree. Reed had a 75.5 QBR, Hart 20.2. Each had 4 drives, Reed’s offense had 4 TDs, Hart’s had 13 points.
Hart looked solid as a passer today, better than he has the rest of the year. But I think Reed’s ability to scramble is necessary in our offense, especially with how rough our Line is.

UT is going to lose to a bad A&M team and miss the playoffs. Sark will complain and everyone will say “don’t lose to A&M lol”

I would love that, but there’s a 0% chance of that happening.

A&M won’t be keeping UT out of the playoffs. The 4-5 prior losses will

Still live for 8-4!

Imagine being an A&M fan and thinking 8-4 would be a godsend at this point

Couldn’t bring myself to check the score until almost halftime for fear of us having another embarrassing, “fun fact” game where we were the losing team.
Pleasantly surprised to see 28-0 before half.
GG Citadel.

Ags were doing the gator chomp at our game so we clearly appreciate it.

The only thing I learned from that second half is: Start. Hart.

u/Shinta85 Texas A&M Aggies 2h ago
I also learned that the reed apologists are a beating somehow still.

Wow, where has THAT Texas A&M been all year? Looked every bit the part of the SEC Championship and playoff contender this team was expected to be. Dominating defense, explosive offense. Elko must have really gotten after the team this week. But this win has me very optimistic for the remainder of the season.

Shutting out any team at this level is impressive, even if it's The Citadel. The defense was flying around all game and the offense finally looked like it had some rhythm. That kind of complete performance can really spark a team heading into the back half of the season.

Did we watch the same Hart? He looked great, idk where the “Hart sucks” people are looking

Not a Reed apologist by any measure, but you can't compare Reed playing against starting SEC secondaries vs. Hart being serviceable against The Citadel's backups.

I barely watched but the plays I saw Marcel looked much more consistent and not wildly inaccurate. Footwork was better. Hart looked about the same as Marcel, so if Marcel struggles next week I remain in favor of pulling him and seeing if Hart can deliver the ball consistently in a real game.
10
u/SuperAwesomeBrian Paper Bag 1h ago
Your takeaway from that game is the guy with 2 years of experience and 6 starts this season looked about the same as his backup, but that he should keep starting anyway?
Wow.
3
u/Ace_6_Pirate Texas A&M Aggies 1h ago
I didn't say I would have Marcel start if I was the coach. Elko is going to have him start next week. If Elko was going to have Hart start next week he wouldn't start Marcel this week.

Damn I haven’t seen a 41-0 score since Louisville beat Kentucky last year. That’s a hell of a spread!

Hart looked good, but not better than Reed though yet. Reed had a 75.5 QBR to Hart’s 20.2. Our offense also seemed to work better with Reed, even if it didn’t look that different at times. I mean our offense with Reed got 4 TDs in 4 drives, whereas Hart in four drives only had one TD and 2 FGs. That’s a significant enough difference to be worth bringing up imo.
1
u/Prestigious-Car-4324 Texas A&M Aggies • Team Chaos 7m ago
Both drives stalled because of penalties, that may not be Hart’s fault.

u/ianbits Ohio State Buckeyes 2h ago
Wait why are they playing the Citadel lol
Did some OOC team cancel on them?

I'm more just confused as to why it's in the middle of the schedule.

B1G fans are always so dense about this. We get it, you don’t like it. We start our conference play earlier than you do.

The Citadel? A&M is proud of this win?

It's less about A&M being proud and more that people are glad The Citadel got destroyed.

A&M might go 5-7 / 6-6 if they get lucky AND Texas lost, today is a great day

u/Ace_6_Pirate Texas A&M Aggies 2h ago
At this point I will take that as long as we either beat Texas to knock them down to 9-3 so they miss the playoffs or they come in 5-6 and we beat them to knock them out of bowl eligibility.
