I'd say take Purdue against ND. From what I've heard they have a solid defensive line and we're going to keep starting our statuesque QB behind our worst offensive line in several years. I hope ND finds a way to win but no way do we cover the spread.

I didn't watch. Was there anything about the Toledo game that suggests it would be an outlier? It's been a rough start for ND, but I don't know if that's expected to continue.

I don't think it's an outlier, but we might see improvement by the end of the season. The biggest problem is that our offensive line isn't very good, although I think we can be better if Brian Kelly moves our linemen around. He's said he doesn't want to do that but maybe if they get picked apart by Purdue he will change his mind. We're also insisting on starting a pocket passer at QB so he gets sacked very frequently, especially since pressure mainly comes from his left side. Also of concern is our defense, which is changing its strategy to be more aggressive and lean harder on individuals to make their plays than Clark Lea did. It's taking time to get everyone up to speed so our secondary gets burnt pretty frequently and we miss tackles against the run but once our players are playing the way Freeman wants them instead of how Lea taught them I think we'll look a lot better.

There was a pick six. Very bad throw, but you'd hope we don't have a pick six every week.

Our offense was - minus the fumble - super effective with Buchner in, but it looks like Coan will start again this week and it was terrible with him minus two drives.

We gave up two 60+ yard plays, but we did the same against FSU. It looks like our defense is just weak to big plays so I don't think we can really call them outliers.

So the fact we came so incredibly close to losing is a little bit of an outlier, but even in the non-outlier scenario it's not much better.

idk, I feel like you guys just kind of coasted into the Toledo game on a short week after an emotional and tough win the week before. Line feels too low I think you guys bounce back and win by 10+

I wish I had the same faith in this ND team as you
