Absolutely fantastic album. Played this a lot in 1976… that saying something because a lot of great albums came out that year!

Ritchie Valens Had More Potential Than Buddy Holly

Okay, now that I have your attention: it's true, well not true because it's subjective but let's talk about it. Ritchie Valens was able to do in 8 months with 29 songs what Buddy accomplished in his 18 month career, and while I do think Buddy was the more innovative/skilled musician, Ritchie, growing up in poverty, didn't have access to the resources Buddy had, infact Ritchie was so good he only knew three chords according to his manager, Bob Keane, when he discovered Ritchie because everyone knew who he was in the San Fernando Valley. Ritchie had much more natural talent than Buddy and that's not me shitting on Buddy but trying to show people that Ritchie wasn't just a one hit wonder.

I do think Buddy was doing some cool shit though, he inspired the Beatles so that stumps anything Ritchie did, Buddy was super innovative with the things he did too like incorporating overdubs and being a massive figure for rock and roll

I could keep going and I would like to talk about it more, maybe someone can change my mind but I really do believe Ritchie was superior to Buddy and that's only because whenever people glaze Buddy they never seem to bring up Ritchie, and when they do they say he only had La Bamba.

and yes this is a silly topic with no answer, but it's fun to discuss and argue about especially when they're slandering your goat and their highkey wrong.

Kansas was incredible

Saw Kansas last night in Deadwood, SD and the show was next-level great. Anyone concerned about the band not having any original members need not worry. These guys sound like vintage Kansas and to me, it’s all about the music, regardless of who is playing. Plus, these guys have been on tour for some time and they still brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm.
I have been a Kansas fan since they put out their first album, and I will admit I was a trifle concerned that this wouldn’t be any more than a tribute band going through the motions. Not to worry, this is the current, authorized version of Kansas and they are incredible.

They licensed Stairway to NARNIA??

I'm just really shocked. They notoriously don't license their music. They made an exception for Almost Famous but that's because it was made by a good friend of theirs, but even then the stopped short of letting him use Stairway. They even made Wayne's World edit out the 5 notes of Stairway he plays at the guitar store. So this is a shock.

I guess either times are tight in the houses of the holy or they realize they need to secure their legacy with the next generation.

All that said it makes this trailer cool as f*ck.
