Discussion How can Disney justify how much its prices have increased since inception compared to other streaming services???

Post image

There have been six price increases over seven years, with their price rising 200% since inception. I mean, this is crazy. I donโ€™t think their library has expanded nearly enough to justify the change and, in fact, it seems like they offer way less original titles than any other streaming service. This is getting out of control

Never heard of Jellyfin or any ability to make dvds you own digital, so lack of knowledge is probably working against Jellyfin.

Right now storage costs are pretty high though. So the upfront costs of standing one up are high. I say that as someone who has run Jellyfin, Audiobookshelf, etc for years.

This is absolutely a valid point.

I think you could probably cobble together something useful for your kids who will watch the same stuff over, and will not be too worried about lower quality content... But absolutely it's a rough time to start from scratch...
