I mean, they probably started as protests for that and then other people who are upset about something joined. I’m sure if you ask a bunch of people you’ll get different responses

u/Grift-Economy-713 13h ago
I’d be willing to bet all violent protests/riots/revolutions etc. all worked this same way you’ve described

They did literally just burn down the town hall in my wife’s home town though…

u/ippleing 14h ago
The one that somehow survived protests since 1883 now the French teenagers burned it down over school budgets...
2
u/rokstedy83 7h ago
It's no longer about school budgets
1
u/Greedy-Employment917 3h ago
It was never about school budgets and anyone who's telling you that was trying to construct the narrative from the start.

u/thespaceageisnow 14h ago
Why is this sub going so hard on the french protests
12
u/mynamesnotsnuffy 13h ago
Because its an election season and the bots nets in Russia need to make up for lost time.
6
u/Worth_Dark_9091 13h ago
They're back hard today night all over Reddit. It's very obvious.

The French government isn’t treating their people well. The people are responding accordingly.
2
u/PaintInfinite9167 11h ago
Why can't Americans be more like the French
Embarrassing
1
u/Grift-Economy-713 10h ago edited 3h ago
I think we are much more embarrassing.
We just do nothing while our rights are taken away. Patriot Act, The Snowden Stuff, Citizens United, no guaranteed healthcare, social security going bankrupt, constant tax breaks for billionaires and millionaires, pedos in the Epstein files go un-prosecuted, wars in the middle east that no one wants that drag on for 20 yrs, etc, etc...
The French start burning cars when their gov screws them.

Actor who played Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, sold his mansion and moved to France.
And you all know why this Caucasian girl used the buzzword ‘patriotism’. Fear mongering is the first tactic of the far right.
5
u/ippleing 14h ago
At this point this is beyond left and right politics.
We can argue that all day long, meanwhile people that have been in France for a year have no problem burning buildings or throwing bricks at police.
It's not the French teenagers lighting historic buildings on fire.
0
u/GIT_45 13h ago
These data centers must be on full throttle. You right winger bots and paid actors have been working overtime since it’s election time.
I hope Zelenskyy bombs more data centers.

u/Greedy-Employment917 4h ago
We watched this happen yesterday. Are you trying to claim it wasn't real?
Usually you have to wait a few months before trying to memory hole something that was broadcast live. But here you are, trying to claim it didn't happen while the church is still smoldering.

u/mynamesnotsnuffy 14h ago
No, it is specifically right wing fear mkngering and lying. Holy crap you people are disturbingly susceptible to propaganda.
9
u/ippleing 14h ago
You're right, it's the French burning their own historic buildings and churches over school funding.
1
u/mynamesnotsnuffy 14h ago
Have you not ever been aware of how the French protest? Read a book for once, you might learn something if you stop being afraid of education.
8
u/ippleing 14h ago
Oh you're right.
It's French teenagers burning buildings in protest of their school budgets.
Those kids are just playing pranks burning churches that have survived 400 years of their forefathers protesting.
2
u/mynamesnotsnuffy 13h ago
Literally yes, that is what the protesters themselves are saying, if you actually listened to them instead of your racist podcaster host masters that probably fuck kids on the side. Holy shit.
3
u/Axel_Raden 13h ago
Yes they riot and they even burn shit but not buildings that are over a hundred years old. These "protests" went too far when they burned that woman's face and they haven't gotten any better.
3
u/mynamesnotsnuffy 13h ago
Id say they got worse when the police shot students asking for more education funding. Got back to siberia, bot
4
u/Axel_Raden 13h ago
Why the hell are you excusing this shit. They are attacking innocent people and destroying history. If they are being attacked by police they should be attacking the police not people who are innocent people
2
u/mynamesnotsnuffy 10h ago
attacking people
Thats bad, but Im not French and Im not there. I cant stop it, have no influence on them, and they shouldnt do that.
destroying history
So is Trump, but I dont hear the outrage there. Let the French take care of their own business, its not like much really happened in that building anyway that would matter to anyone outside of France, so its entirely their own business in my opinion.
attacking the police
Surprise, that is whats happening. Not to mention the heinous things some police have said recently that got out, sounds like the police there should be reformed to eliminate the far right racist corrupt elements
2
u/Axel_Raden 10h ago
I don't care about Trump I'm not American. They started by attacking people who tried to get them to stop including burning a womans face. This isn't going to get them what they want I going to empower Marine Le pen and her far right party.

Not French and not there, yet all over this thread claiming you know better than everyone else what's going on and who's controlling it.
You are an embarrassment.

I'm a history fanatic. Went to college my first go-round as a Classics major. So, architecture is a big deal for me.
But the preservation of historic buildings should never be more important than the preservation of human life and wellbeing.
A city that lets her citizens starve (or fails to provide for their wellbeing) should burn to the ground if necessary.
1
u/Axel_Raden 10h ago
This is not going to improve anyone's well-being this will further empower Marine Le pen and her far right party
