Gameinformer article summary

NEW GTA 6 Information courtesy of Game Informer:

- GTA VI features a significantly upgraded dynamic wind system.

- Includes offshore breezes after sunset, convectional updrafts, and wind occlusion from buildings.

- Wind can make hair and debris swirl on rooftops, create ripples across water, and bend swamp grass.

- Tropical storms and hurricanes are confirmed for Leonida.

- Major storms feature heavy clouds, powerful winds, dense atmosphere, torrential rain, dripping environments, water pouring from rooftops and lampposts, thunder, and lightning illuminating the clouds.

- 170+ animal species across GTA VI’s map, including Leonida-native wildlife never seen before in a Rockstar game.

- 60+ bird species and 30+ land mammals, alongside numerous fish and reptiles.

- Confirmed wildlife includes manatees, flamingos, pelicans, and alligators.

- NPCs have an unprecedented level of physical variety and detail.

- Citizens can have different heights and body types.

- Bodies vary in musculature and localized weight distribution, including the chest/bust, stomach, and butt.

- Different skin types are represented with details such as freckles, moles, and tanning.

- Rockstar put extensive work into culturally accurate tattoo styles matching Leonida’s different communities and regions.

- Hair and body grooming are far more detailed, with significantly more ethnic styles represented.

- Leonida is the biggest map Rockstar has ever created, and by a significant margin.

- The map is roughly twice the size of GTA V’s world.
It is also considerably denser, more detailed, and more interactive than GTA V.

- Rockstar says it obsessed over every part of the world, including rooftops, alleys, building interiors, and the spaces between them.

- GTA VI features a huge number of interiors, reaching a point where buildings are designed to feel real both inside and outside.

- The world is designed as one cohesive environment, rather than separate areas that feel disconnected.

- Rockstar says the map combines a high density of content with handcrafted detail throughout the entire world.

Why the fuck would you care about that fragile, obsolete piece of plastic? Are you that stuck in the past?

A game tied to music, cars, sports teams, characters, or other licensed content can be removed from sale when those agreements expire. GTA is always a gateway to fantastic music, artist. Without preservation this just like spotify. Existing physical copies can remain playable, depending on how much of the game is actually on the disc. Digital games can disappear when licenses expire, publishers shut down stores, or companies decide to stop selling them. SONY took away movies, Konami and Sony delete Kojima's PT. A physical copy gives you something tangible that isn't dependent on a storefront continuing to list the game. A disc can preserve a particular release of a game even if the digital storefront eventually removes it. This is particularly important for older games whose publishers no longer sell them. Rockstar is a multibillionare company, they don't give a flying f about your purchased digital copy. You don't own it, you rent it. It's like You buy shoes for $100, but when you take them off, the store takes them away. They can give them back to you without shoelaces of a different color, etc. Or just the left one. And you won't wear the right one until you buy a hat.

You sound like a conspiratorial nut, like the ones in Florida thinking the gov is taking their shit away. But to each his own.

Here's something for you: even if you truly believed everything you said, there's nothing you can do about it. What would you do then? Hopefully not waste time thinking about stuff you can't change.

I just won't participate. I get this is the reality and majority don't care. I also get that for most customers console is just a machine for one game, Fortnite, COD, Fifa etc. and it will be GTA6 for some. Sims Anniversary edition customers also knew but in the digital some licensed material was removed, including branded objects and licensed music. Warcraft 3 Reforged anyone? Yakuza 5 was initially digital-only in the West, and the later physical/remastered releases restored much of the content that had been cut from earlier Western Yakuza releases. And of course whole The Crew situation that leads to European stop killing games initiative. Sony's lawyers fought back, writing that "in the digital age, it is not plausible to allege that reasonable consumers believed they were obtaining 'ownership' of a digital game." They claim that because the Software Product License Agreement (SPLA) states "licensed, not sold," consumers should already know the deal. Most of us in the industry press try to indicate this problem. And I would like to recall how music and content were removed from gta san andreas on PC. So called The Silent Patch. Without any warning, this update permanently removed 17 licensed tracks from the game's radio stations, even for players who had owned the game for years. Major hits from artists like 2Pac, Rage Against the Machine, Ozzy Osbourne, and James Brown poof gone vanished.

Thinking that a corporation won't go so far as to take your product away is as naïve as it is harmful to the gaming industry

GTA 4 has already been updated to remove content that was on the disc. It's not a conspiracy anymore when it actually happens.

Why the fuck would you condone Sony's greed-driven practice of discontinuing discs? Are you that much of a capitalist?
