Looking for gaming discord servers

Hiya. I am a 23F UK looking for a server to play games in.

I love playing little co-op games like Phasmophobia, Jackbox, Gartic Phone, RV There yet, Among Us, Town of Salem, Left 4 Dead, League, Valorant, Overcooked, Plate Up - genuinely I could keep going.

I don't want a server full of bots. I want people that will actually play and just have a fun time.

Thanks 💜

Discussion In combat games, 2v1, if you're alone and you get to kill one of the duo guys, should it still count as win (like, 0-1) even if it's only one of them you get to win against

• Upvotes

I don't know if I explained correctly but like, if you're on a pvp combat game and you stumble upon teamers or clans, even if you're alone, if you manage to kill one of them, even though the other one is still alive, should that still be counted as winning one time against them? Because most people I fight decide to come back again and again and we start a counter of wins, like 3-2 or things like that, and if the teaming people do that, should you, alone, count killing only one of them as a point? Like, killing both of them makes it 2-0 and things like that? I mean, I'm asking to see if other gamers think the same but for me I think it's just fair since you're winning having a clear disadvantage

this could change in the future for sure and there are honourable mentions that definetly could have made the list like Beyond two souls (2013), far cry 3 (2012), Plague tale Innocence (2019) and Dying light(2015)

Discussion What video game left you feeling empty after you finished it?

Post image

For me, it’s NieR:Automata.
It’s one of those games that feels like a dream you don’t want to wake up from. Everything about it feels special to me: the atmosphere, the music, the characters, and the philosophical themes that make you question what it really means to be human.
There’s something almost surreal about the whole experience. When it’s over, you’re left with so many emotions and thoughts that you don’t really know what to do with them.
It’s not just about finishing a game. It’s about saying goodbye to an experience that stays with you long after the credits roll.
What game made you feel this way?

Discussion Let's Discuss About PS5 Games Will No Longer Get Physical Releases (My Perspective as Someone in the Game Development Industry)

I might be a little biased since I'm a game developer myself, but I'll try to be objective.

I think the economic situation is a valid point. I'm not a supervisor or anything, just an IT guy working in game development, but I know that compressing 200 GB of game assets down to 20 GB is difficult and time-consuming. Developers have to balance file size, performance, and business costs.

I think that's why some games get delayed to optimize their size and performance, while others end up with terrible ports because of the problem it made during development.

With storage prices increasing due to AI demand, developers have even more reasons to optimize their games. Sure, they could release a 250 GB game, but fitting it onto physical discs would be another challenge. They need to reach a wider audience, so they have to work hard to compress the game enough to fit on a physical disc without ruining the experience or having terrible port.

Nowadays, many games are already 150 GB or larger. The PS5 supports Ultra HD Blu-ray discs with capacities of up to 100 GB, while 128 GB quad-layer Blu-ray discs aren't supported. That makes physical releases is hard for larger games, including AAA Games or Indie Games.

I also wonder how publishers can make a profit when a 100 GB disc within today costs around $25, or perhaps $18 per disc when purchased in bulk. With manufacturing costs increasing, I can understand why some developers and publishers prefer digital releases.

Digital releases also give developers more flexibility. They can focus on optimizing the game without having to squeeze everything onto a 100 GB disc. So i understand Ken Kutaragi point about economically reasonable for this Physical disc situation.

So i try to give discussion and question, if physical games were still widely available but cost 10–20% more than their digital versions, would you still buy physical copies, or would you prefer digital?

I’ve kind of been floating around in the gaming community just sticking to like dead by daylight and rocket league the past year or two. And I’m getting kind of tired of them. I AM BROKE! Is there ONE game y’all could give me that has an active community, that actually welcoming, that doesn’t look like it will go to shit within the next half year. ANYTHING works, you’d be surprised how little of the classics I’ve even played. Thank you redditors!

Discussion I just realized something, with the death of physical games, comes the death of people being able to wrap up physical games as gifts.

This sucks! Some of my happiest moments in my life have been seeing my friends open christmas and birthday gifts from me. I got super happy memories of gifting a friend Assasins Creed, and Skyrim. I remember how excited I was to find new copies at an affordable amount on a website.

Discussion Do You Use Voice Changers While Gaming?

Voice changers can make gaming voice chat more entertaining, whether people use them for jokes, roleplaying, or privacy.

But some players prefer their normal voice, and others find voice changers too artificial or inconvenient.

For those who play online games, do you use a voice changer? If so, what do you mainly use it for?

If you do not use one, is it because of sound quality, setup, compatibility, or simply personal preference?

So I did this wrong the first time. Really only changed to the underrated section. I didn’t go with my gut the first time for the underrated section since I found that to be a hard choice. I originally chose Portal 2, but I didn’t know how popular it was on PC until the previous comments 😅people I knew just didn’t like it, and that influenced my opinion on it! Something to work on.
Anyway, let me know what you think!
Honorable mention in the underrated: Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time for the Nintendo DS..the story behind it is wild. I have stories for each of my choices, let me know if you’d like to hear them!
