Hand-drew, cut, and rolled every piece of this paper wall art. Nothing store-bought šŸ¦‹šŸŒø

I made this wall art entirely from paper. I drew the girl, the birdcage, and all the butterflies by hand, then cut each one out. Every flower on her dress, hair, and the cage was handmade, spiral-rolled roses and hand-cut petal flowers, with no punches or ready-made pieces.

I used colored craft paper, and the dress alone has over 200 flowers. The whole piece took many hours of cutting, rolling, and gluing to finish.

The butterflies are folded so they lift off the wall, which gives it a bit of a 3D look as they "fly" out of the cage.

It took a lot of patience, but I really enjoyed every step. 😊

I’ve been making metal flowers for my wife since normal flowers die and make a mess. Over time I’ve made quite a few now so here’s the update on how many we have so far. If you have any suggestions or novel flower designs let me know! The tulip and bell flower were suggestions made here so if you have any ideas I may make them šŸ‘šŸ»

My handmade fabric interpretation of Einstein

Post image
29 Upvotes

This Einstein figure is entirely handmade from fabric.

I hand-painted his face with acrylics, and even made his clothes from some of my own old, unused clothes.

I love giving familiar faces my own interpretation through handmade art — creating not just the figure itself, but also the little details that give it personality.

I actually shared some of my artwork on Reddit about five years ago. I recently came back to this account, and it feels nice to be sharing my work here again.

This is one of the figures I’ve created along the way.

What do you think?

Handmade mother-of-pearl inlay jewelry box, do you like this texture?

Handmade jewelry box with mother-of-pearl inlay.

Crafted from African Blackwood, it carries an elegant, refined presence. Grooves are carved into the wood to set mother-of-pearl pieces, then sanded, hot waxed and polished. When light falls on the shell, it glows with shifting iridescent hues. The deep wood tone blends beautifully with the luminous inlay, creating a sophisticated look.

If you received this as a wedding gift, would you love it?

His body is carved out of redwood. His eyes, mouth, food, and shorts are polymer clay. And he is hand painted with acrylic paint.

Hand-carved wooden ā€œSpirit Maskā€ that smokes out of its 3rd eye.

I recently finished this ā€œSpirit Maskā€ - carved out of American pine, featuring pyrite eyes and a hand-blown ā€œflower marbleā€ third eye.

There is a spot for an incense cone at the top, when lit, smoke bellows out of the 3rd eye and cascades over the face.

This is my first mixed media sculpture that I have attempted. The stand is a mixture of both mild steel and also naval bronze. Have some pretty good ideas for my next sculpture.

I drew this simple design in Procreate, used a make-your-own cookie cutter website to turn it into an stl file, and my spouse printed the cutter. I then used it on polymer clay, rounded and baked it, then used paint pens to add the color.

Handmade lacquer tissue box with mother-of-pearl inlay.

Delicate symmetrical floral shell inlays shimmer with iridescent color when light hits it.

Many layers of lacquer and polishing went into this piece.

What do you think of it?

Blanket!

Just finished a project I’ve been working on for like 8 years, just in time for the recipient’s birthday! (It’s his fault it took so long…he’s too tall for a normal sized blanket…I can give him crap because he’s my brother)
