QUESTION Adapalene or Celimax Pore Pads for Closed Comedones?

Hi! I don’t have severe acne, but I get closed comedones from time to time (of which a few turn into pimples). Should I use a retinoid or use pore pads? Please help me because I really want to improve my skin overall 😭

QUESTION Would you rather improve your skin now or protect how it ages over the next 10 years?

• Upvotes

Something I've been thinking about during consultations lately.

Most aesthetic treatments are discussed in terms of what changes you'll see in the next few weeks or months.

But I'm curious whether people are becoming more interested in how their skin will look years from now.

If you had to choose, would you prioritize visible improvement today or long-term skin health?

QUESTION Does anyone notice a difference between 22 and 25 momme silk pillowcases? I have rosacea and eczema, so I figured reducing friction would be useful. Is it true that 22 momme has more slip than 25 momme because it's thinner?

If you have experience with both, please weigh in! I recently received some 25 momme covers from Fisher's Finery and they aren't quite as slick as I would have expected. Maybe I need to break them in a bit first, idk. I'm considering getting a 22 nomme instead from a different brand.

QUESTION Anua Oil Cleanser Travel Size (1.69 oz)

Does anyone know if this bottle leaks? Looks to be only sold at Ulta.

Traveling with just a carry-on soon and have bad experiences transferring oils into various containers. Figured purchasing this would make more sense.

Thanks!

QUESTION Contour powder for N21

Looking for recommendations for contour powder!

I’m N21, and prefer a more natural look. I used and liked Romand&Nd in 02 previously, but it’s out of stock right now on Stylevana.

What’s the best substitute?

Weekly K-beauty brand ranking from Reddit threads (W41)

Hi all, I've been counting brand mentions across 11 K-beauty subs each week and figured I'd share the results here.

Week 41, 1,185 threads counted, 57 brands mentioned:

  1. Anua, 37 (up from 26 last week)

  2. Beauty of Joseon, 32

  3. COSRX, 23 (up from 16)

  4. Skin1004, 22

  5. Dr. Althea, 18 (doubled from 9)

Biggest movers: Dr. Althea jumped from 9th to 5th. Isntree re-entered the top 15 at 10th with 10 threads, up from 4, after their Ulta launch last year. On the way out: Mixsoon fell from 15th to 30th and Laneige dropped out of the top 15.

How I count: threads mentioning each brand, deduplicated, across 11 subs. Not sponsored, just something I run weekly for fun. Happy to keep posting these if people find them useful.

my skin always gets weird when the weather starts changing

25f, and every time the weather shifts my skin gets confusing.
my cheeks start feeling drier but my forehead somehow gets these little clogged bumps at the same time.
i’m not changing much this time because i know myself and i’ll end up adding five things and have no idea what caused what.
at night i’m using numbuzin no.0 cleansing foam, then a basic moisturizer. i still use azelaic acid a few nights a week but i’ve stopped exfoliating on top of that for now.
i’m mostly curious if anyone else gets this dry + clogged combination when fall starts. i always assume acne-prone skin = oily but mine apparently didn’t get that memo.

QUESTION What happened to Yesstyle?

whenever i try to browse the clothing section, it's basically empty, barely any clothes. if i click on “going out tops,” only one top shows up, whereas not even two months ago, there were pages of options.

is anyone else experiencing this issue? i reached out to customer service, but the response i received was that there are some regulations that restrict availability in certain regions. but, i don’t live in one of those regions, so i’m confused as to why this is happening to me. has anyone else had this problem or found a way to fix it?

QUESTION Using HIFU/Ultherapy as a light "liposuction"?

I was wondering if anyone thought that HIFU/Ultherapy would be good to melt fat? The side effects people talk about with these treatments is that it destroys fat cells. Would it then be good to get it and specifically target fat as the goal? Could you tell the doctor to just shoot the heat directly at the fat and have a noticeable reduction?

SKIN How do you get the no-makeup makeup look when your skin isn’t having a good day?

Some days my skin looks pretty good on its own, and other days I have redness, uneven patches, or dark circles that make me want to reach for foundation. When I do, I feel like I’m wearing more makeup than I wanted. I've been trying to figure out the best no-makeup makeup routine that gives me a fresh, natural look without covering my face in products.

QUESTION LebeL haircare

I don’t ever see anyone post about this brand when talking about Asian haircare but it is the only one that had truly changed my severely bleached hair!

It is very popular in Russia and lots of slavic girls swear by the brand, however it is nearly impossible to purchase in Europe! As I am traveling to Japan and South Korea, would anyone happen to know where LebeL haircare can be purchased?

QUESTION Clinics in korea

So my siblings are going to Korea and they've been looking into clinics but theyre a bit hesistant.

Hence..I need clinic recommendations.

No budget, its fine if theyre expensive, they just need to be good.

English speaking would.be perfect, but even if they dont, they'll just get a translator if anything.

The treatments they want are mostly for: Acne scars, surgical scarring, hyperpigmentation.

And some for hair treatments.

Please give me clinics recommendations and where should I book them and how!

Looking for Lippies

Hey! I'm new to K -beauty but I've fallen in love with the lip glosses. I'm looking at some on YesStyle and am super open to alternate recommendations. I have a very neutral undertone (I wear Clio foundation in 21N) with a slight autumn lean, and I have naturally light to medium pigmented pink lips. I can't wear very bright colored lippies and am on the hunt to amass my collection of perfect muted neutrals.

I already own the romand The Juicy Lasting Tint in Eat Dotori, and it's my perfect red lip. I also have the Judydoll Watery Essence Lip Gloss in Chestnut Ice - literally my favorite shade I currently own. I'm looking at way too many lippies, so here's the rundown of what I'm most interested in.

- romand The Juicy Lasting Tint in Earl Grey Lychee, Bare Grape, and Soy Almond

- romand Glasting Color Gloss in Cream Beans and Toffee Cream

- Holika Holika Soft Rolling Gloss in Pink Espresso (I think this might be C-beauty instead... oops!)

- Colorgram Fruity Glass Tint Milk in Oolong Lychee

- fwee Rose Obsession Stay-Fit Lip Tint in My Rose, Sweet Rose, and Honey Rose

- BBIA Nudy Lip Pencil in Nudy Beige

- Clio Crystal Glam Tint in Gentle Lovebird Beige

Any suggestions or opinions are much appreciated and I will get back to your comments ASAP! Thank you so much in advance!

QUESTION Does YesStyle have 100% legit products?

I’ve heard a lot of people saying NOT to buy skincare from Amazon because they don’t have much control over their warehouses, so fake products can get mixed in with real ones.

I want to get the Purito Oat-in Calming Gel Cream, and it’s only available at Target, Amazon and YesStyle. I really don’t want to risk getting a fake! I prefer paying a bit more to have 0 risk of getting a fake product.
