Housing PSA: do not live in Walden Woods or anything managed by MTH

I am a current resident of Walden Woods Apartments in East Lansing on Harrison and Lake Michigan. I thought the horror stories I've heard about MTH wouldn't happen to me but my God these people are completely incompetent and useless. Their 1.7/5 stars review from 358 people on Google says all you need to know.

There was a big fire here last year, half of the top floor burned down. We currently have smokers inside the building, the fire alarms went off and everyone had to evacuate the entire complex. AND MANAGEMENT STILL REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. It's an old apartment, I'm not expecting a 5 star hotel experience. If things go wrong maintenance can fix it and I can deal with whatever but not being able to breathe inside my own apartment all while worrying about whether this place is going to burn down crosses the line for me. You would think that even they would take fire safety seriously but nope.

Oh don't even get me started with them shutting off the water in the middle of winter because they would rather have people come fix things on the next business day instead of dealing with it asap.

STAY TF AWAY FROM HERE AND ANYTHING MANAGED BY MTH

10 MINUTES!

The SRWC is now CLOSED.

My circadian rhythms are increasingly tied to the announcements that boom across west campus every evening. Hilarious. I'm not complaining.

Selected designs will move forward to community voting during MSU’s It’s On Us Week of Action, and the winning design will be produced for use during the Spring 2027 Week of Action.

If you’re able, please share the attached flyer with your networks and encourage folks to participate. Submissions are open now, and we’re excited to see the creativity from across our community!

General Help with Study Abroad

Post image
34 Upvotes

Dude. I don’t know what to do. Looking for some advice from people who have been on this trip, or any trip for that matter. I’m a junior so it’s my last summer to go study abroad, but I’m unsure if it’s worth it. I want to go for the packaging experience, but I feel like it’ll be more like a vacation for a whooping estimated 15k. I have to decide soon since spots are filling up, and I have already been approved, just haven’t committed.

Me encanto el verde y el color de Michigan State. ¡Estoy my feliz de haber elegido Michigan State! ¿Estudías a Michigan State?

Freshman Questions Dental hygiene pogram happy with it?

I recently went to a campus tour and saw the dental hygiene facilities. I feel like the units, Charly heads and the classroom were outdated. If it works for the pogram I guess but i sincerely wonder if people are happy with what they are provided. I still need to get my pre reqs for the pogram but i wish it was more updated. Wondering if theres any hygiene students that could share their experience in the pogram.

From what she’s seen, there are all sorts of places available. Are there buildings that are especially well-regarded?

General Quick Survey on Banking Preferences for Class

Hi! I am a senior studying Advertising Management and my capstone group created a survey on banking preferences. If you're in the 25-44 age range, please take this quick survey. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and would be a major help for our project!

Housing Lease Takeover: Cedar Village Apartment Near MSU | January–August 10, 2027 | Female Tenant Only

I’m looking for someone to take over my lease in a fully furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at Cedar Village in East Lansing, from January 2027 through August 10, 2027. Lease renewal is available.

You’ll be sharing the apartment with a female student who is clean and quiet.

Rent: $1,041/month, excluding utilities and Wi-Fi

  • Fully furnished, with an in-unit washer and dryer.
  • All kitchen appliances and the living room sofa were replaced with new ones in August 2026.
  • Approximately a 2-minute walk to the MSU Business College.
  • A 12–15-minute walk to the MSU Union, engineering buildings, STEM building, and library.
  • An 18-minute walk or 7-minute bus ride to Target.
  • Approximately 10 minutes by bus to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.

If you won’t be staying over the summer, you can find a subtenant for that period. The apartment offers relatively affordable rent and convenient access to campus and downtown. In my experience over the past two years, I’ve always been able to find a subtenant when needed.

Roommate preferences

Female tenants only. My roommate and I have agreed to generally limit male visitors. If an exception is necessary, it should be discussed and agreed upon in advance. Shared spaces, including the kitchen and living room, should always be kept clean.

Virtual tour

The apartment in the tour below has the same layout as this unit. Your bedroom and bathroom are located toward the back of the apartment.

General Have any alumni moved back after being away for a bit?

Every now and then the idea pops into my head. Find a job in the EL area and move back with a family. I’m in SE MI now and I’ll visit about once or twice a year.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia. The place has changed a lot since 2016.
