None of them care. Environmentalism is nothing but a point of leverage for these greedy animals to make money and manipulate people to their own benefit. Not a single one of these politicians cafe about the environment.
This kind of cynicism just breeds self-destructive apathy.
Likewise, this kind of naive unfounded optimism will achieve nothing. There is no time to fix this peacefully and democratically. The only way we correct our current path in time to reduce the severity of the incoming apocalyptic conditions is through non-legal, non-peaceful action by the majority against the minority causing the problems. Of course, that isn't going to happen until its too late. Enjoy the relative global stability while it lasts, because when the Middle East/Africa become genuinely uninhabitable, the world as we know will be over. If you find relative peace in lying to yourself that any amount of peaceful action you advocate for will make a change, by all means, do what you want.
But don't lie to everyone else. No amount of action now will matter. It was too late to act decades ago. The future is beyond grim. People like yourself need to engage with reality and harden up - only dark days lay ahead, and you're doing yourself no favors to prepare for it by being insufferably naive.
The real issue here is that there's some countries that rely on fossil fuels and their production.
Why would they ever stop? It's already warm in most of those places. It's not an American fault and when that satellite showed images of huge emissions of greenhouse gases was it not as a majority china and Asia? Their economy runs on that. So why would everyone ruin their current livelihoods so the few can be even more lavish and brazen. It's a rock and a hard place it is not as simple as some redditors comments.
