We made the right guy famous.

3.0k

u/hoptownky 9d ago edited 9d ago

He is actually an asshole. He got famous for the first girl. Then the girl in this picture who was way hotter found him and he dumped the first girl.

I mean, that’s how real life works, but no need to praise him for dumping the ugly girl once he got famous.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ugly/s/q9fi5G1ZzM

179

u/SunshineAlways 9d ago

Scrolling down in that post, someone said after he dumped the first girl, he said she looks like a horse. If you think you’re ugly, how do you treat someone else like that? :(

39

u/Asmodeus_Satanas 9d ago edited 9d ago

Because reality is often disappointing. Nobody is exactly who we think they are. Sometimes it’s bad, not always bad, but it’s still healthy to keep that mindset to a certain extent imo.

13

u/mtaw 9d ago

Is it really surprising though? If you're ugly, spend time whining about it online, and never have been in a relationship - odds are you're pretty lacking in maturity and interpersonal skills.

The very premise here of being "too ugly to love" should be a dead giveaway. Nobody is too ugly to love. But you can be too ugly to get a girlfriend in spite of an awful personality. Just because someone is ugly doesn't mean they're a nice person, just as little as being pretty means you're a asshole.

606

u/Key-Demand-2569 9d ago edited 9d ago

Uh. Is there any more to this?

His first girlfriend isn’t necessarily someone I’d call ugly by any means, she looks cute enough in that picture.

And after few months after they broke up he wound up dating then eventually marrying and having a child with this other person?

Is there proof he was cheating or he solely broke up with her because this other person who said he was cute was more conventionally attractive or something?

Also why am I seeing the phrase “looks match” on there so much? Gonna hazard a guess the subreddit named “Ugly” might not have a great community

341

u/Acceptable-Ninja-151 9d ago

"looks match" is fuckin incel stuff, where they self flagellate about 'having a place'. It basically means if you are 'ugly' then you can only have 'ugly'.

12

u/Big-Series-2053 9d ago

The biggest thing I see told to incels is that they aren't owed love by anybody so it's really funny how everyone dogpiles on this guy and uses this gross ass incel subreddit as "proof" that he's a POS. He was in a relationship, his priorities changed, he went with what he preferred. It was also over a decade ago. So who fucking cares lol this dude doesn't think about any of this shit or anything that's said here.

1

u/Abaddononon 9d ago

Never heard of that mate, but usually people end up with someone who is on their level of attractiveness.

8

u/blaaarrgh 9d ago

You're insane. I've seen some gorgeous people end up with people that look like my big toe.

23

u/girafa 9d ago

User 1: Usually I see cardinals in my backyard.

You: You're insane. I've seen a hawk sometimes.

1

u/dearth_of_passion 9d ago

You realize that your comment is essentially a logic palindrome and is therefore pointless, right?

2

u/girafa 8d ago

Just say you didn't understand it, it's okay

14

u/spacekiller69 9d ago

Outliers do not make the rule. Most people also date within their race and age bracket.

2

u/blaaarrgh 9d ago

I don't think it's an outlier when it's like 50% of relationships. The idea the beautiful people only date beautiful people is only true amongst people who value looks over anything else. That is not all or most people.

-1

u/spacekiller69 9d ago

Everyone values looks. Humans are animals driven by hormones. Were apart of nature not above it. Most people have preferences about gender, race, age, body type. Most couples are looksmatches.Pretending otherwise is delusional.

2

u/blaaarrgh 9d ago

Expect looks and attractiveness is a personal preference, for everyone to looksmatch like you think everyone would have to have the same idea of what makes a pe son attractive. Get out there and touch a titty you weird freaks.

You're just denying science atp

2

u/blaaarrgh 9d ago

No, dating apps and social media have given you warped perspective on human connection

9

u/SardineS__ 9d ago edited 9d ago

I don't think they're insane to suggest that this 'usually' happens.

There are some studies to suggest that this is the case.

Source #1, Source #2.

I'd like to see more discussion on this topic.

4

u/Warm-Carpenter1040 9d ago

Why are you getting downvoted, it’s a real thing that was studied in psychology ever since 1966.

It is objective that people “generally” end up with partners of the same level of attractiveness.

Highlighted generally so I don’t get a snarky reply about “oh but I’ve seen ugly dudes get with beautiful women”

1

u/Vulpes206 9d ago

lol you don’t go outside much.

-2

u/BeeOnBee 9d ago

Have you ever been outside?

2

u/ncnotebook 9d ago edited 9d ago

I'm not them, but I agree with them. And my outside experience (plus actual studies) back it up.

The key part is this:

  • They said usually, not always. Exceptions are inevitable and tend to stand out in your memory.
  • "Level of attractiveness" should be interpreted as "vaguely in the same level." If a 5/10 dates a 6/10, that's roughly the same level. If a 4/10 dates a 7/10, that's not usually considered the same level.

1

u/ANAL_TOOTHBRUSH 9d ago

… have you?

2

u/girafa 9d ago

"looks match" is fuckin incel stuff

Incel used to mean forever alone (involuntarily celibate), why do we use that to describe popular relationship trends?

3

u/thiccmemer 9d ago

because it became widely known language due to its prolific use in incel forums online

1

u/girafa 9d ago

And its definition isn't widely known? Why do we need to change it. It was great as it was.

1

u/thiccmemer 9d ago

I'm confused as to what you're saying. Are you talking about the definition of incel or looksmatch?

1

u/girafa 9d ago

Incel. It means people who has never been in a relationship and expects never to be in one, now the user above me is using it to describe people actually in relationships, which makes no sense.

It's like misusing literally. What's the point of the word anymore?

2

u/lazy_literary_hero 9d ago

The whole point of being an incel is that you’re single and sexless. Whether someone expects to be is largely irrelevant if it’s not voluntary.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/kattelalilie 9d ago

Idk why the definition hasnt changed on Google ect,but we call people incels now because the hate they have for woman talking about unaliving us and the looksmatch stuff ect,it used to mean that theyve never been in relationship, but now it just means a much worse insult because way to many men decided to group into that same behavior while also calling themselves incels both for the original meaning and the new

1

u/girafa 9d ago

we call people incels now because the hate they have for woman talking about unaliving us and the looksmatch stuff ect

Misogynist still works, no?

it just means a much worse insult

Sorta? Kind of like calling a person with kids a virgin

-3

u/chimpfunkz 9d ago

It's rooted in actual human psychology though.

There was a study where 10 men and women were given numbers, 1-10, and told you match up, with the number representing 'attractiveness'.

Overall, people matched up with their corresponding numbers. 7 and 8, 4 and 5, not a lot of large differentials between numbers in each match.

The nuance is, there is more than just looks that go into your real 'number'

89

u/killer22250 9d ago

His first gf looks exactly like my crush from high school. Definitely not ugly.

107

u/Replikant83 9d ago

And he called her ugly and "a horse." Pretty shitty thing to say about another person

8

u/TheoRaan 9d ago

Source?

-2

u/Replikant83 9d ago

There was a post closer to when it all happened. There were screens (before AI bs) of him saying she resembles a horse...

5

u/TheoRaan 9d ago

This is all a long line of telephone isn't it. No proof but like someone said something, posted something etc etc

2

u/strawberry_gutz 9d ago

Took a minute to find but one of the gossip channels has it posted

https://youtu.be/EGtlNXurP3k?si=57tzKHMoc_ZBAwKO

Starts at about 7:00 minutes in, there's overlapping commentary in some areas but this is from it before it was privated

1

u/shiorimia 8d ago

Thanks for posting. I remember him saying this but he conveniently deleted the clips off his channel 🙄

u/TheoRaan There’s the proof you were asking for.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/TheoRaan 8d ago

I appreciate you doing a search. Unfortunately it doesn't say he's talking about his ex.

He says, and I'm paraphrasing here "the first girl I fell in love with, I thought she looked horrible , I thought she looked like a horse, until I realized oh shit.." and it got cut off. That sounds like someone acknowledging that they were being too harsh. Especially since he says it's the first time he fell in love, so seems like he grew from that.

Also doesn't say he's actually talking about his ex. Just his first love. Either way, don't know him. Not defending him. Just tell you what the video says.

-39

u/off-with-your-thread 9d ago

lol...

We've all got our standards...

-14

u/jollydoody 9d ago

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with being a hippophile

-18

u/off-with-your-thread 9d ago

It's fantastic. Date em, wife em, and get them the hell away from me!

-13

u/jollydoody 9d ago

As a hippophile, just ride em, brush em, send em out to pasture and get a new horse.

65

u/Roguemjb 9d ago

Yeah, what a lousy community. Just the phrase 'looks match' tells me it's a depressing place. Looks are subjective, people!

2

u/MiniatureOuroboros 9d ago

You could also say people have a whole lot more to offer than just their looks.

29

u/RSFrylock 9d ago

There are livestreams of him shitting on his ex

25

u/Theleiba 9d ago

I think first girl was way prettier actually. It's almost like beauty is incredibly subjective.

6

u/Key-Demand-2569 9d ago

I don’t disagree personally, just trying to lean on “conventionally” as much as possible to try and be less biased.

2

u/IndicationSevere8992 9d ago

Yeah I don’t get it lol. Second wife is pretty too but I think the fact that she’s just thinner, dresses nicer, and wears makeup is giving her more of an edge while the ex wife is lower maintainance (but still naturally pretty too). Some people were calling the first wife the guy’s “looksmatch” which is just umm a little disconnected with reality to me lol.

33

u/--celestial-- 9d ago

Is there an opposite sub to r/MadeMeSmile ?

29

u/Summer-Sub-Intern 9d ago

I don’t know what you’re talking about. That first woman does not look ugly to me at all.

4

u/SadProjection 9d ago

and that's your opinion, just like his was that she was ugly.. so that's why he dumped her

148

u/Lost-Transitions 9d ago

This should be higher up, even though it's kinda a bummer.

2

u/Derpazor1 9d ago

Well now I’m frowning

0

u/-ZergeN- 9d ago

it should not. the first girlfriend looked good too.

143

u/Replikant83 9d ago

I wouldn't call him an asshole for that. But, the fact that he referred to the first girl as "a horse," is pretty awful and telling.

74

u/MollyViper 9d ago

I kind of feel like that’s a "pot calling the kettle black" situation

18

u/ProudAssistance8833 9d ago

The horse calling the horse horse?

9

u/AnhiArk 9d ago

Lol of course there is a followup story like this. Everything kind of sucks

4

u/Narodle 9d ago

Opposite end of the "looksmaxing" community yet just as unhinged.

3

u/hoptownky 9d ago

Yeah. I could say the same about this original post. None of us really know any of these people.

2

u/Sudden_Excitement_17 9d ago

Yeah for sure. When people have nothing going on in their lives, they try to get involved in others.

1

u/reddit809 9d ago

That sub makes me feel bad for those guys, tbh. Ffs, there are a LOT of fathers not raising their kids and, in turn, letting the Andrew Tates of the world raise them.

75

u/yeetyourselfout 9d ago

Damn, I’ve seen the op post before but not the one you linked. Definitely an asshole and I hope more people see this too

6

u/thelochteedge 9d ago

Man, I've seen the post OP made so many times now and always thought "good for him" first time I've EVER seen this. That's brutal.

34

u/Evnosis 9d ago

What the fuck is this post, lmao? You don't know why he broke up with the first girl, this is just a self-pity rant on a glorified incel sub that you're taking as gospel proof that the only reason they broke up is that he found someone prettier?

28

u/ocean_800 9d ago

He literally said she looks like a horse....

4

u/Evnosis 9d ago

According to whom? I've seen several replies to that comment making this claim, and they're all just sourcing the thread on r/ugly that they literally just read.

-1

u/XDVI 9d ago

Well why don't ya fuckin open up google if you're so curious bud?

5

u/Evnosis 9d ago

So you don't have evidence, then?

-9

u/XDVI 9d ago

I do not even know who that guy is and I definitely don't care.

Are you dumb? lmao

8

u/Evnosis 9d ago

Are you dumb? Why would it be my responsibility to go find the evidence for someone else's claim when my entire point is that they shouldn't be casting judgement before finding that evidence? That's not how any of this works, bud.

8

u/hoopstick 9d ago

Burden of proof is too complicated of a concept for a lot of people.

-7

u/XDVI 9d ago

So you don't have evidence, then?

15

u/beghelutalop 9d ago

didn’t know about this, people should know about it

2

u/pickyourteethup 9d ago

I dunno, it sounds like he met someone he liked more. Them being attractive might have been part of it but life is rarely that simple

6

u/beghelutalop 9d ago

mh, in the post linked above a guy wrote that the “ugly guy” called her ex “ugly and she look like an horse”.

-2

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

Why? Is it illegal to dump someone for someone else you're more attracted to?

-1

u/Big-Series-2053 9d ago

Right? I think a bunch of these ding-dongs are salty that dude lived his life the way that he chose to. A quote I frequently see thrown around at ugly guys is "no one owes you their love" and shit, this dude took that street both ways. But all of a sudden that's wrong? I don't get it. Also why does this matter it was over a DECADE ago.

19

u/poeschmoe 9d ago

Idk if it’s the same woman but I’ve gone down a rabbit hole about this guy before and he said his ex was super abusive and awful towards him.

15

u/hoptownky 9d ago

Someone else posted that he also said that she looks like a horse. Who knows. Either way, it’s just not really the cooked up story that is always posted on here.

1

u/poeschmoe 9d ago

Idk, if she was abusive towards him then it’s understandable he’d have some unkind things to say. Sure, it’s not morally right, but why expect him to act perfectly toward an abusive ex? I’m saying this as a woman so it’s not some “I’ll always blindly defend the guy” thing

2

u/MyCatsHairyButholle 9d ago

That’s a convenient excuse to use without proof when you’re trying to get sympathy and engagement on your video, thus being noticed by someone attractive in the process

-6

u/OcculticUnicorn 9d ago edited 9d ago

Not an excuse to hurt someone over it

Edit; I'm not saying he should stay with his abuser, hell, the comment I replied to doesn't even know if it's the same girl he was with before the "attractive" one came around.

4

u/poeschmoe 9d ago

So people can’t dump their abusive partners because it’ll hurt them? The same partner who abused them? Huh

2

u/OcculticUnicorn 9d ago

Not what I said...

Did the woman he was with before he dumped her for the "hotter" woman abuse him or was it an ex before her?

If someone's abusive then definitely dump their ass.

I'm saying that you shouldn't be an asshole to your current partner because your ex abused you, it's repeating the cycle.

1

u/poeschmoe 9d ago

Ohhh I agree okay. Yeah, I don’t know if it was the same woman but assumed so since that was the only ex he mentioned in the video.

I didn’t mean to misinterpret what you said in bad faith. I assume it was the same woman but just wasn’t 100% sure.

1

u/DrSpacemanSpliff 9d ago

You’re saying that you shouldn’t break up with someone who is abusing you because breaking up with them might hurt them?

2

u/OcculticUnicorn 9d ago

No. Abusers should be dumped.

I'm saying there's no need to be an asshole to your current partner because your ex was an abusive shit.

4

u/ostrieto17 9d ago

maybe I'm truly blind but they both look like the same girl to me

2

u/RepulsiveRaisin7 9d ago

Second picture. Blonde girl

2

u/Puffywiggles64 8d ago

lmfao. S-tier shithead and unaware people itt are fawning over OPs "feelgood" story.

1

u/LieutenantSandbag 9d ago

Fkkn Milkshake Duck, every time

1

u/MEEE3EEEP 9d ago

I’m so confused. So he posted the video, started dating someone else named Lullaby right after he posted it, then Julie comments on it, he breaks up with lullaby a few months later, and starts dating Julie? But they’re claiming him and Lullaby dated for 5 years, so did Julie comment on it 5 years after it was posted?

1

u/MeanBear815 9d ago

way hotter

1

u/JayNaii 9d ago

How are you going to take someone's theory/opinion as a "source" and take it as fact. he very well could've done/said those things but there's no actual proof(that I've seen). Now you're on here accusing this dude of being an asshole.

This is a quote from your "source" btw: "It just kinda seemed like he was so indifferent"

Yes we should be slandering this guy cuz someone got bad vibes. I'm open to being wrong but at least come with proof

1

u/hoptownky 9d ago

How are you going to prove any of this. How do you know this guy really even got married and this entire story wasn’t just created for internet points.

None of us know the real story, but I have seen things linked on this dude several times. I know he posted on his channel that she “provoked him to violence” which doesn’t sound great for a man to say. And he also called her a horse face, which isn’t really cool for someone to say if they were also ridiculed for being ugly. But again, I agree. There is no way of knowing if any of this is true.

1

u/konariya 9d ago

I actually think the first girl is prettier? People are so strange

-1

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

Why do people keep bringing this up as if people aren't allowed to dump people for someone else they prefer?

-1

u/jocool883 9d ago

Because people on reddit don't have relationships

0

u/argument_cat 9d ago edited 9d ago

He ended a bad relationship to be with someone he fell in love with. This is extremely common, normal, and acceptable behaviour.

What's the alternative?

1

u/hoptownky 9d ago

Yes, but he said that one reason he broke up with her is that she looked like a horse. Why is this a feel good story about an ugly guy getting a beautiful woman if he broke up with his first girl and called her a horse.

0

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

1

u/hoptownky 9d ago

I actually think the first girl was cute. He said that one of the reasons he broke up with her is because she looks like a horse. He has the right to break up with her and to call her ugly.

It’s just weird to post a heartwarming story about someone who is “ugly” finding love when he is the only one who called himself ugly and then makes fun of his ex for being too “ugly” for him. It’s all just weird to me why this is a story.

Also, who still uses “incel” as an insult anymore grandpa. You might has well have called me a “noob” and told me to “talk to the hand”.

0

u/Azigol 9d ago

We made the wrong guy famous!

-1

u/Himorningwood 9d ago

Lol sure bud that's how it all happened exactly

-1

u/ripe_archeologist 8d ago

That doesnt make him an asshole lmao. Good for him i'd say.

155

u/ocean_800 9d ago

He literally dumped his current girlfriend of 5 years for his wife, who was prettier sooo

6

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

I am curious but I thought that’s how dating works? You date different people and move from relationship to relationship until you find the person you want to marry or make a permanent commitment to? Are you saying anyone who has an ex is an asshole? Or is it perceived hypocrisy because he allegedly only left the first girl because the second girl was prettier? I also find that somewhat odd because wouldn’t unmarried people be trying to find the best partner they can attract on all aspects? Or is 5 years of dating considered equivalent to a marriage? Or did this guy cheat on his ex with his now wife? Or is it that he met his now wife and that lead to him breaking up with his ex so it was some sort of emotional infidelity?

20

u/Sufficient-Fudge-523 9d ago

Wtf type of comment is this? You date with the intentions of getting into a committed relationship, obviously if the person has a couple character flaws or incompatibilities that weren’t clear at first it’s fine to break up, but dating someone you know you aren’t attracted to just to date someone you are attracted to is fucked up.

6

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

Who said he wasn’t attracted to his ex? And who says his ex didn’t have personality flaws he was dealing with but didn’t love? So when you say you’re dating someone, that is an equivalent commitment to marriage?

3

u/Sufficient-Fudge-523 9d ago

It’s not an equivalent commitment to marriage, but 5 years is still a commitment. If this dude broke up with his ex because she had character flaws or they naturally grew apart that’d be fine, but if it were purely based on looks then that’d be cruel. The truth is we don’t know the details of his life, but it looked like your og comment was including looks into the discussion when talking abt reasons to break up with your partner.

1

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

I feel like looks is still fair game in a dating situation. People who claim looks aren’t part of attraction are lying. It shouldn’t be the only factor but it is a real factor and people shouldn’t be criticized for acknowledging that.

3

u/widower2237 9d ago

Sounds like he has said she was ugly as a horse

1

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

Well that’s certainly an asshole comment if true.

43

u/mucus-fettuccine 9d ago

Should people be getting into committed relationships with someone with the intent to leave when someone they find more attractive shows interest?

10

u/plopliplopipol 9d ago

i don't know but what i believe is we shouldn't be judging intent when we don't know shit

2

u/mucus-fettuccine 9d ago

Yeah that's fair.

15

u/thesakeofglory 9d ago

This is making all kinds of assumptions. You have no idea why he started dating the first girl, why he dumped her, or why he got with the second one. Yet you assume he started seeing the first girl purely as a placeholder until he could “upgrade”. There could be a million different reasons they broke up, we don’t even know for sure he was the one that dumped her!

2

u/mucus-fettuccine 9d ago

That's a good point. Not sure why I assumed ill intent on his part.

1

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

That’s kinda what I’m saying. When two people are dating and they break up and start dating other people and at least one of them ends up getting married, why would one of them be characterized as an asshole without further context? That just normal relationship cycle. The ex who didn’t get married might feel jealous but that doesn’t make the ex that went on to get married an asshole.

4

u/chamullerousa 9d ago

I guess that’s a subjective threshold. Marriage was the tradition that meant both parties were 100% committed to one another. Now that isn’t so true these days both in that marriage commitment isn’t as strong and dating commitment seems to be stronger. We don’t have a clear delineation anymore.

2

u/MermaidMertrid 9d ago

This seems to be a common belief. I argue with people all the time who apparently believe you shouldn’t dump anyone for any reason unless they are abusive/cheaters. It’s ridiculous.

1

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

soooo.... what?

77

u/send420nudes 9d ago

because he's ugly?

74

u/Norader 9d ago

Because he’s ugly.

17

u/PRSHZ 9d ago

Ugly is the new sexy

2

u/DeMarcus-Siblings 9d ago

Man I wish this was true.

2

u/Norader 9d ago

Just wait until she comments on your post saying that she likes you.

1

u/DeMarcus-Siblings 9d ago

If only I was internet famous ☹️

112

u/hoptownky 9d ago

Because he is ugly and then he dumped his first girl who was ugly because he got internet famous and a hot girl wanted to be internet famous too. Crazy how people try to make this a feel good story.

57

u/votum7 9d ago

Well, it was a feel good story until your facts and accurate depiction of what happened ruined it.

2

u/MyCatsHairyButholle 9d ago

Man, why did my feel-good internet story have to be ruined by facts and reason?! This is horrible and now my day is ruined 😢😢😢

11

u/Observational-Mess 9d ago

Dang. Is that what happened?

-1

u/Big-Series-2053 9d ago

You met this guy?

2

u/hoptownky 9d ago

Nobody on here has met this guy or knows if any of it is real. It’s all pretty stupid. I just know “according to the internet” he got the first girl and then dumped her and said she looked like a horse.

He did say later that she was abusive, but no need to call someone a horse if you are part of a feel good story about being ugly to begin with.

But again, this whole story could be made up. None of us know these people.

1

u/Big-Series-2053 9d ago

Couldn't have said it better myself. I wonder if stories like this will still be recirculating 10 years from now like weird old tabloid news. Guess we'll have to wait and see 🙄

25

u/baldurcan 9d ago

yes and it didnt matter, did it?

No. Becuase a wonderful person who felt lonely found its people an online and even his wife.

The same guy who called his current gf at the time a horse and dumped her for the conmentor? Yeah .. no hes a pos lol
