This marrying just after a year thing is such a marrying-for-an-EU-passport storyline.

And I am saying this as an Asian who KNOWS people that did this too but instead of an ugly guy, they married guys 35-45years their seniors.

Well, at least she needs to stay married to him for at least 7 years before getting the passport, and we don’t really have alimony in Sweden. Child support is only 150-200 EUR a month depending on the child’s age. I do hope she loves him!

If she married him pre-2022 and it was already 3 years by then, she probably already have the citizenship.

I know someone who literally couldn’t even speak Swedish and has no interest in learning it (said everyone speaks English anyways) but managed to get her passport before the rule changed. I speak better Swedish than her even if I only lived there for a year.

Hopefully for his and their kid’s sake.

UK isnt placed on continent of Europe and so its not a part of Europe. Previously being part of EU made it kinda part of Europe, but its not a part of it anymore so no real connection.

Dude is an asshole, but that has to be one of the most toxic subreddits I've ever seen (at least of ones that haven't been banned).

They're all obsessed with finding their "looksmatch", which is just a gross way to approach dating.

For a sub that one would assume is about empowering people who aren't necessarily "conventionally attractive" they sure seem to be obsessed with the attractiveness of a potential partner, just obsessed with being equally attractive instead of as attractive as possible.

It's still objectifying someone.

And that was years ago, he said she said type shit. If he was the type a person who would break up with someone just because they found someone more attractive willing to go out with them, why mourn than that previous relationship? why does it even matter at that point it was never gonna work out. I doubt it was a pleasant one if it ended so easily. But we really only have her were an accusation that he called her ugly but who gives a fuck. Hopefully she’s in a better relationship. Evidently he is. And hopefully if he was a dick many years ago, he’s grown as a person within his new relationship and he is a better person.
