I know it's easy to say that Kimi has insane amount of luck this season especially after that Singapore sprint. I do agree to somewhat degrees. But if you actually watch his whole season last year, I'd say he has tremendously improved in terms of being patience and overall rational while behind the wheel.

Like if you watch some of his race last year, like SPA and Zandvoort, the kid was too aggressive and a lot of us can agree he wasn't having a clear head. Like he tried too hard to gain places even when he clearly doesn't have the pace which ultimately cost him more in the end.

So in a nutshell, is Kimi lucky? I'd agree 100%. But don't discredit him about his discipline improvement while racing today. I'd bet that today, if it was 2005 Kimi who was behind the wheel, he might've got caught with both McLarens in that final lap.

Hopefully our old package is still the fastest. otherwise we are finished.

We where half a second quicker at the beginning of the year, we outqualified the current red bull by 8 tenths!!! one of the largest gaps in f1 history, and they're people defending this upgrade package that made us slower then them just because it went from poop in sprint qualy to rotten pizza in main qualy. I can only assume it's salty russell fans who want the team to fail or don't care about the season anymore.

The team is definitely not happy with this despite what they put out in public.

I hope the team does not get fooled, with the old car this would have been an easy win for kimi.

Well George did a fantastic job and he will start P1 because Verstappen will get a grid penalty.

A track notoriously difficult to overtake on. Rumours that Merc may be able to fast track the ADUO upgrades to this weekend but I think it’s a tall order given they were aiming for COTA. That being said it’s the least Merc can do, after leaving him on the oldest engine on the grid- running since Hungary. Only other high overtake track left on the calendar would be Interlagos, if he doesn’t get the ADUO now. It’s a sprint weekend so the penalty will only apply to Sunday’s race.
