Beyoncé is a real POS, what was it a few years ago they were selling listening only spots at her shows where you couldn’t even see the performance, she signed off on it with flying colors

I’ll never forgive her for by not allowing any other performers to play during her set at the ten other stages at Coachella while she played. I watched five minutes of her and bounced

Im not defending this by any means, but are you telling me that Beyonce went out her own way to perform single ladies at coachella as the single lady allowed to perform at all? Because thats actually kind of funny.

honestly that could have just been a budget reason. her talent fee must be ungodly high, so i bet the festival producers decided they’d offset that cost and just save the fees by having her solo headline, figuring everyone would want to watch her anyway.

ive worked festival promotion and i can see this being the arrangement. also if her stage show was that huge, it would have been incredibly expensive to bring on a huge crew for 1 headline show. instead they can re-route production staff to help with main stage.

i’m sure her ego didn’t mind, for sure, but this is a shrewd financial move for the festival as well. festival ticket prices are high because artist fees are enormous and they require a huge crew to take care of. it’s the biggest line expense for a huge festival.

I know people who work at golden voice. She wouldn’t headline without this clause. Had nothing to do with production costs. They have huge head liners every year and most of the other stages don’t even have production like Yuma and Dolab.

oh wow so that was just her? damn. i stand corrected then.

ive worked artist relations for her team and she wasn’t particularly demanding but that was when she was a guest and her husband was performing, so i gave benefit of the doubt. i guess when it’s her performing, scorched earth

Right, because she’s so much better than any other headliner to ever play Coachella. Gimme a break. She’s just insanely conceited to think that she’s what everyone wants to see.

Way better. That was a tour de force.

It was meh. But not debating her performance but her arrogance to not let anyone else play during the headlining slot which literally every other headliner does but she was desperate to guarantee her crowd

Don’t most arena concerts offer obstructed view or behind the stage seats for lower prices? I’d have to know the context, and sure it’s a capitalist nightmare but so is the whole stadium concert experience. Unless there’s something I’m missing it’s hard to put that on Beyoncé in general

This was a whole area outside the seating that had zero viewing area

It was such controversy 8 years ago and when sometime says they are a Beyoncé fan I often think about 200.00 a standing no view seats at her shows where

It was a hill not even on the stadium grounds if I remember correctly.

Swift did fully obstructed stadium seats in my city but at least you got a seat, could see the screen, and they cost about AU$30.

I was going to say…Taylor Swift did this too at least for the later dates of the Eras tour, but they were $15 and at least had a screen up. And I think that was partly due to fans asking for it. (IE, let me just have the seat to listen and for the vibes.)

So I don’t care about Bey doing the same, as long as they knew what they were getting and the price was super low. $200 is insane if that’s true.

For $15 I'd go to a ton of concerts just to see the screen and sing songs tbh. If the space behind the screen is there anyway and you know the concert is gonna sell out completely leaving fans without a ticket, why not sell it?

Standing or seat?

Standing only, it was a big article about 8 years back on this reddit

She didn't invent the concept, but it's still pretty uncommon.

Best case scenario, could be a savings for a blind fan I guess.

7

u/edwinstone Sep 05 '26

The venues usually do that and people are aware before they buy them so what is the issue?

2

u/BobTheFettt Sep 05 '26

How do you think she became a billionaire?

If those tickets sell it’s because fans would rather get those tickets than not go. Who is being harmed by selling those tickets?
