Yea but if the fans want to pay it…at some point, people need to be responsible for spending the money. They create the whole problem with the demand. It’s still supply and demand.

Ya know we have public safety laws, we really should have them for grifters too.. cause that's what beyonce is. A talented grifter.

We do already. Its called fraud. As far as I can tell she didnt lie she never said the box was anything more than an empty box. So no fraud. People are just mad they didnt read the fine print.

People who didn't buy it are mad that she let absolute morons buy it from her, mostly. Same shit happens when Taylor Swift drops the 37th version of an album. I don't like these artists, but why shouldn't they let idiots throw money at them?? There's no coercion here, just a bunch of psychotically consumerist dipshits doing what they do best. People need to get lives and educations.

Exactly. I get having to protect people to a degree, this is not that situation though. Most junk you buy is just that junk that's been polished.

You’re being kind by saying she’s talented . She’s been marketed to be this super woman . It falls flat for me

People being duped out of their money makes me sad

Putting it like that assumes that people truly have a 50/50 choice. But some people (namely, the hard core fans) are being manipulated and exploited, so it's not an evenly balanced scale. I won't go so far as to say they're being "scammed", but they're only one step removed from that.

Just because it's legal doesn't make it moral.

Nah, I dont buy that.

Its not our job to parent you on what is acceptable social media and what isnt. I agree it got out of hand and this is a manipulative relationship -

But if we start going "You are responsible for your post causing obsession and stalking towards your own person" - you have totally lost the plot.

There is sales manipulation and tactics going on, but in no world ever should my behavior be policed because someone else cant control their own emotions over me.

Thats like telling a girl to wear pants because dudes cant control themselves.

Sooner or later, you need to take accountability for your own life. If gambling addicts, sex addicts, drinking addicts, narcotic addicts and shit can all own up and not blame the cashier at the corner store - you can too with social media.

I didn't call for "policing" and specifically mentioned that I think this is one step above a crime, not actually a crime. I'm just saying that she doesn't get a free pass just because it's ultimately the buyer's responsibility to make the choice of buying it or not. She's still immoral for even offering it.

Nah. Letting fans throw money at you for nothing isn't immoral just because it makes those fans very stupid. It's not like they're mentally disabled and she's talking advantage of the helpless. They want to. They'd find a way regardless, like the idiots who started a GoFundMe to help one of the Kardashians become a billionaire. No one can force them to get a fucking life, unfortunately.

That’s exactly right, and she’s specifically taking advantage of that knowledge to exploit them and manipulate them. That’s what makes it immoral.

In your view, is it immoral to take advantage of someone's gullibility?
