It's pretty performative. He could have just left, but he's gotta make the big statement because... well, it's good press. I agree with him, but he could do something like use his profile put on a charity event for the people of Gaza. A statement by itself doesn't do shit. That's speaking as someone who's actually involved in charity relief for the people of Gaza.
He's also getting more press with this headline than actually doing the tour. Sorry, if that's a cynical take... but I think words are only words until there's action.
