That's literally what I did with Macklemore last night, don't care for his music one bit but I applaud him, so I shuffled his spotify on mute as I watched football and went to sleep

Macklemore’s been saying it consistently for years, and as such, I have been listening to him on mute for years

He's a fellow Washingtononian so I just listen to him. He's in my "Seattles Hits" playlist.

You could just actually listen to the music. Music we like is largely music we've listened to and become familiar with. That's why the radio stations play the same songs every day, and that's why your favorite songs were probably on a radio station.

I’ve listened to him before, I don’t dislike his music, it’s just not something I would actively seek out to listen to. This was meant to be a joke, I have nothing against the guy and wish him all the best

It's just weird to listen to him for years on mute imo.

Again, it was a joke referencing the previous post about putting him on mute and letting it “play” in the background to add to his stream count

hmm i don't get it, but i'm sure it's very funny.

That’s what we all need to do

How long until companies figure this out and only give artists stream counts when users volume is at a certain percent?

Twitch already does that with livestream viewers so I wouldn't be surprised if Spotify yoinks the idea sooner rather than later.
