There's having different worldviews and there's supporting fascism and genocide.

People are more complicated than their political beliefs.

Not when they enable genocide

u/InvisibleTacoTruck 12d ago

You’re proving my point.

5

u/leovult 12d ago

Not really, you just want that to be the case, but it isn’t.

u/InvisibleTacoTruck 12d ago

You’re reducing people to a single political stance. That’s exactly the simplification I’m talking about.

3

u/leovult 12d ago

No, I’m taking a no exception stance on genocide!

Kid rock is by no means a good person aside from political views, dude talks about getting with underage girls in his music and is a certified weirdo

Ems pretty weird working with him again

so what could justify supporting a genocide

u/InvisibleTacoTruck 11d ago

That’s not really a question. You’re redefining disagreement with a political position as ā€œsupporting genocide.ā€

Nothing justifies supporting genocide. But you also can’t simply assume that someone who votes for or agrees with a particular political position is therefore personally endorsing every action associated with that government or movement.

By that logic, if you continue working for a company whose leadership has committed serious wrongdoing, does that automatically mean you personally support that wrongdoing? Obviously not.

when you vote for a politician, you vote for their policies. when their policies include fascism, you're a fascist. that's just the way the world works. your argument is like saying "i obviously don't buy coke because i like coke, i buy coke because i like the color red"

Voting for a politician is not the same as endorsing every action or every extreme interpretation of their policies. That’s the difference.

By your logic, if the mechanic who fixed your car once got a DUI, you support driving drunk because you paid him.

Your coke analogy only works if the colour is the entire product. It isn’t. People vote for packages of positions, priorities, trade-offs, and lesser evils all the time. That doesn’t turn them into pure supporters of every single thing associated with that side, any more than Eminem’s lyrics make him a child predator, or Kid Rock’s make him one, or their collaboration makes either of them solely defined by politics.

People are more complicated than the single worst label you can attach to their ballot.

Tf is that even supposed to mean

Let’s not pretend that one side’s view isnt ā€œI don’t agree with the pronouns you use so we’re putting people in concentration campsā€ā€¦

God you fucking losers need a new script

you'd think after 15+ years this feigning "oh dear you're so mean over simple politics? how petty of you!" like blow it out your ass lmao

that shit doesn't have the plausible deniability it did a decade a go; especially since it doesn't work once you take the mask off

it's also transparently lying, because believing that line requires believing that politics don't matter, and conservatives clearly don't adhere to that.

One worldview is fascism and genocide and the other is *checks notes* not that stuff

Edit: I'll take the downvotes to mean y'all share that worldview

Republicans and Democrats worked together back then too.

Yeah on the West Wing. Never in real life or on anything meaningful.

They at least tried to keep up the illusion of working together or even at all, but we all were suspicious of politicians in general and in a way much more unified under that general distrust.

Politicians, lawyers, and used car salesmen. That was like the sitcom staple of who to compare a character to in order to really drive home how dishonest they were. Now politicians have weaseled their way into our culture with this bizarre kind of mass tribalism that feels like drunken fans of two rival football teams tailgating too close to each other.

Kid Rock was also in an Eminem video in 2013.

Reading your post and realizing the downward spiral we’re all in. ā€œThe last 90sā€ may be more of a prophecy than a typo
