Chart blocking is basically person A thats successful puts out a single. Person B who is more popular with a more rabid dedicated fanbase rushes out a variant or demo or alt version or old song they had in their back pocket to release a day later in order to keep Person A off the top of the charts.

The charts measure what people buy and/or listen to.

Is she literally blocking other artists from releasing music? No.

She is not blocking other artists from releasing music, she is releasing music at a tactical time in order to keep someone from hitting #1.

So she’s releasing music and people are listening to it. They’re listening to it more than they’re listening to other artists. If she released music and people listened more to other artists anyway, no one would be saying she was “blocking” anything. People are acting on their own free will and the charts are measuring it accordingly.

It is a non-problem and everyone complaining about it is being a massive weenie.
