Just Sharing Dream

I had a dream

That you were on my bed.

As I lay there you squeezed my arm

Not tightly, but assuringly

And then, your hand slid down

Resting your wrist against mine.

Leaving it there, just for a moment-

Until you gently held my hand.

It felt like for the first time,

In a long time,

Something was going right.

(Wrote this based on an actual dream I had today!)

(Something was going right) That line is a gut punch. It’s amazing how a dream can offer so much comfort to only to leave us with that dark reminder when we wake up. I'm going through a very similar situation right now, and your words capture exactly what it feels like to crave that warmth. Beautifully written.
