I heard from someone years ago that it was a good experience. But now I'm finding mixed results. Is it worth going to ?

And what happens inside? What do I expect?

Thanks!

🧒 Kids Paris trip 3 days with kids (8 & 11)

We're going on our first citytrip with kids to Paris in november. I love Paris and it's history on every corner and i would like to pass on that love during the trip to my kids, but I must not forget that they are still kids, who maybe find the Notre Dame just another church... So, does anyone have some nice tips for Paris with kids? Eifeltower, Palais Garnier and Louvre are booked. I have visited the Catacombes before but maybe that's a little bit too eerie for my offspring. Info about nice children friendly restaurant are also appreciated

Maybe some more info for the real Paris-habitués: my son loves Lego and Star Wars, my daughter loves horses in all forms and shapes

In short

Monday: arrival, Montmartre + Eifeltower

Tuesday: Palais Garnier in the morning, afternoon still open for suggestions (Muséé des Armes perhaps?)

Wednesday: Louvre in the morning, afternoon still open for suggestions, departure around 18h

Trip Report 8 nights tips

October 2026

Last of 8 nights.

Don't need any language lessons other than bonjour and mercy.

Uber is your friend. Cheap and plenty of cars available.

No google maps connection issues. Just pin your destination locations. Tour meeting points ahead.

No wait at any cafe or restaurant in out 8 nights here. Just check reviews once u see a few that look good.

The lourve was the most crowded and hottest but worth a visit. Take a break at the Cafe.

Debated about climbing the tower and arc de triomphe but both were worth it.

Time your river cruise for 745p to see the tower light up and sparkle at 8.

Pullman hotel for reasonable food and drink with tower view. Peninsula hotel was a joke. Nothing under $30 for any drink at rooftop bar.

Some of our best meals were at bakeries, sandwiches, quiches and OMG the pastries.

Wine is confusing on the menus even with ai. Just ask for recommendations from server.

Lots of vapers and smokers everywhere including all the wonderful outdoor cafés. Just pray for a breeze. So sad.

Reims champagne tour, go to the large vineyards you book on your own. Tours can only take you to small family growers which was disappointing. Stingy on their pours and not as pretty as Tuscany or Napa. Nearby Espernay looks way nicer when we drove thru.

Only had to pay for toilet at train station. All restaand bars had them with toilet seats unlike italy.

⚽ Sports Pub recommendations to watch PSG matches with locals

I'm traveling to Paris from Korea and want to watch the Paris vs. Barcelona match with locals at a pub. Please recommend a sports pub with a local atmosphere!!

It’d be better if it’s around 16 or 15, and please let me know how many hours before the match I need to be there

Shopping Baguette pen

I know I'm lame for this, but I bought a baguette pen when I was in Paris 4 years ago and I LOVED THAT PEN! it has since run out of ink and it seems impossible to open and attempt to refill without destroying it. Are there any Canadians going to the Eiffel tower gift shop in the next while that would consider picking me up a new one and shipping it to me upon returning home? Happy to etransfer to cover the costs, the pen itself was maybe €5-8. And maybe you'll also want one? Thank you!

Shopping Longchamp Eiffel stamp US request

UPDATE!! Someone has offered to help me!! Thank you for all of the messages.

Hello, my family and I recently returned from our trip to France, with a few days in Paris. It was wonderful but I didn’t get a chance to get an Eiffel stamped Le pliage from Longchamp. We went to galleries Lafayette to find out it wasn’t possible at that location. This was on our last night, so I missed the chance to visit Champs Elysee or Rue Honore. Long shot…. If anyone is already planning a trip in the next week or few to get a stamped bag that lives in the US, would you consider picking one up for me? I know it won’t take much space in your luggage and I’d pay for US shipping once you’re back home! I’m also willing to add a shopping fee! I know this feels like a lot for a basic tote, but it would make the perfect gift. I’m looking for a medium tote, open to a few color combinations, but I want one with the gold Eiffel
Stamp. Let me know if you’d be interested in helping!!

🎨🏛️ Museums / Monuments Question about 4 Day Museum Passes

I will be visiting Paris with my family. I am buying the 4 day museum passes for 3 of us, but my daughter is only 14 and the website says she gets free entry. When I go through the parismuseumpass.fr website to book the time slots it only gives me the option to make a reservation for pass holders. How do I go about booking a time for for all 4 of us?

Other Question Advice go on my first solo Paris trip

Hi all. I’m a woman in my early 20s and want to plan my solo trip to Paris. My parents try to fear and power trip me cuz I still live at home but they won’t ever invite me to travel with them and try to scare me out of living my life. Can anyone provide first timer solo traveler hacks like for safety as a woman wanting to go to Paris or Europe? I wanna go to England too but mainly France. I have been saving money for months and any hacks on where to stay, transportation, activities, and how to coordinate this without unhelpful people in my family life would be deeply appreciated. Plus I want to study abroad and was wondering if people knew where I could find families to be an exchange student for? Like programs as well.

Food & Dining Scallops in Paris

My MIL in meeting me in Paris at the end of the month. She is treating me and I get to pick all the restaurants (even tho I'm so happy with a baguette, butter, cappuccino and a croissant). This is my 3rd time in Paris and usually stay around the 6th.

She says she isn't good at picking them (despite being there for 3 months) but then told me she wants scallops because <I guess> the are in season then 🤷🏼‍♀️ but won't be able to find them on a website menu.

We're staying in the 4th for 3 nights then off to visit 4 other destinations for Christmas markets. It doesn't have to be in the area we are in.

If this is a lost cause just tell me but I appreciate any suggestions from locals and for those that have been and have had them while there.

ETA.....I just realized I didn't type out NOVEMBER about the Christmas markets. I have a lot going on rn and I must've said it in my head but not typed it out. But thisbpost is about Scallops not the markets

Accommodation Ibis Budget Hotels Recommendation, looking for cheap(!) stay

Hi, I want to go to Paris in January or February and remember staying in an Ibis Budget hotel in Paris before roughly 10 years ago, but for the life of me, cannot remember where it was. My experience, granted the price, was good.

For example, I looked at the ibis budget near Porte d'Italie, but there is already three different ones, one with Est and one with Ouest as a name postfix. So I don't know which one would be best here.

My idea was to find one, that is not too old, to have a chance, that it will be decent, since I read, that newer ibis Budget hotels are better since they are not as run down.

Of course, I would be open to something different as well, so my main criteria are: I just want something relatively clean. It should be cheap, around 50-60 Euro per night, where I can get to the Paris city center by metro within 15-25min. Other than that, not many criteria.

Just something for the small budget :)

thank you for the help.

Transportation Best way to leave the CDG airport at 23:30 ?

I'll arrive at 23:10 and have no extra luggage. Ozeroute seems to be booked out and the nightbusses, i'll have to wait a long time. Is there any other cheap options, is it possible to talk to other passengers and share a taxi?

Transportation Parking near Metro 11

Bonjour,

I will visit Paris in two weeks and would like to park my car somewhere safe and travel by metro etc.

Does anyone know any safe parking spots for around 4 days near the metro line 11?

I'm not sure if the results I find online are reliable and the best options, so I appreciate any advice.

Thanks :)

Review My Itinerary Itinerary Help!

Hey everyone/bonjour!

I am having a lot of indecision about my itinerary. Does the below itinerary make sense?

Oct 30: Head to the Louvres to see the Mona Lisa around 3 or 4. I probably won’t make it to the city centre till then. Do a river cruise in the evening to see the Eiffel Tower light up OR go up the Eiffel Tower OR Arc De Triomphe for sunset.

When is the best time for a solo dinner cruise?

Oct 31: Day trip to Versailles and what evening option should I pair it with? What time does the tour get back typically? Tour recommendations?

Nov 1: I would love to arrange a photoshoot by the tower or monuments but it came up that this is a national holiday in France. Is it worth to head to Sacre-Coeur to catch the night view?

Nov 2: I head to Vienna this evening so I thought I could walk around le marais or st Germaine.

I don’t feel like I am planning this well!! Thank you for any help!! Merci beaucoup :)

Shopping Full VAT Refund

I’m wondering if anyone has ever successfully gotten their entire VAT refund (20% for France)

I think it sucks that companies like global blue keep around 8% of your refund, so I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to do it without the middle man. If you have managed to do this, you are my hero and please share your wisdom!

Shopping Where should we shop?

We’re heading to Paris this weekend. We are staying in the 15th and prefer to stay away from anything too touristy. I like boutique stores and consignment/thrift stores, and wouldn’t mind to pop into a few higher end stores like Longchamp or Versace.

Where is the best place to go to avoid lots of tourists?

🎨🏛️ Museums / Monuments Planning vs Spontaneity

We'll be in Paris for 5 days at the end of November. It's obviously not high season, but I'm wondering just how much planning/booking we need to do. We just got our accommodations settled, & I'd love to have the flexibility to roam through a park or neighbourhood if the weather is decent (knowing that the weather will be questionable that time of year); but I expect that if we want to get to some of the main museums or sites we will still need to book tickets in advance.

What can we realistically get away with this time of year?
